As we finish up the plan, Drex suggests, "You know, I think it would be best if we took Tyler back for now. He can continue his training, and we can make sure he's ready for the next phase."
I feel a surge of anger at his words. What is he talking about? I'm ready now. I don't need any more training. And why is Drex suddenly in charge? I was the one who started this plan, and Drex is just here to help. Who is he to be suggesting things?
But the figures around the table seem to be listening to him, and they nod in agreement. "Yes, that's a good idea," one of them says. "Tyler can't be here for the next phase. It's too risky. We can't risk exposure too soon."
