The Boy I Am Not Supposed to Love but I fell for anyway

Most summers I’d go to my Aunt’s house to get away from my parents, but little did I know, this one would be very different. I walked out of my Mom’s house and sat on the steps for a while. It was the summertime, it was hot out, 90 degrees hot out, but that didn’t matter to me. Even sitting outside, practically melting was better than hearing the constant arguing. Soon enough I see my Uncle’s black truck pull up, but it turns out he wasn’t alone. Sitting in the passenger seat of my uncle’s truck was Oliver. Oliver was a family friend and this was my first time meeting him, I only knew who he was based off of old photos and conversations my family had. When I got in the back seat of the truck, I expected my Uncle to Introduce him to me, make him say “Hi,” or at least acknowledge me, but he sat there still and quietly, staring at his phone. His silence left me uncomfortable at first, but I soon stopped caring and figured he just didn’t want to see or talk to me. It was a long car ride. In the middle of listening to music, I felt the car stop and was greeted by a dog loudly barking. I walk into my Aunt’s house and toss my bag down onto the brown leather couch. As I was about to text my parents, telling them I got here safely, I heard a loud bang coming from the garage. I was concerned, of course, so I ran through the door on the side of the house onto the driveway. “Laura, You’re tall, come get this box off the top shelf here, I about killed myself trying to!” My uncle exclaimed. “Oh and Oliver!” My uncle started. “You and Laura clean this garage out, I wanna have a yard sale this weekend.” He finished. I watched as Oliver continued scrolling through his phone, not even looking up. “Oliver!” My Aunt yelled. “Okay, fine, sure.” He said, obviously annoyed. His voice sounded really deep and hot. My Aunt and Uncle walked into the house and Oliver walked up to me. “Should we get started?” He asked. I nodded and started grabbing boxes. The time seemed to pass so slowly, yet it had been over 4 hours. Oliver didn’t get on his phone once, he even ignored a phone call to help me. Despite my first impression of him, he was super cool and laid back. We told each other stories and bonded over things we found through out the garage. He made me smile so much, I even got him to c***k a smile a few times! I’m so glad I met him, I think we’ll get along together. We cleaned out the last box in the garage at around 7:30pm. I seen a black trash bag full of dirt, random papers, and miscellaneous things. I went to grab it, but Oliver grabbed my hand to stop it, using his other hand to grab the bag. “I’ll get it, don’t worry.” He spoke. As he took the last bag out to the trash can, I went inside.
