CH1 Freya Pov
It was her first day at her new job, and she loved being a teacher. She alway felt sad when she left a job and had to move on but she didn't really have a choice, after a few years at a job, people would start to make comments about how well she aged. That was her que to leave before people got suspicious. Especially if she was working in the human realm. Not so much in the other realms.
She could pass for 30s if she dressed well and did her hair a certain way. Today, she started her new professor role at Lake Moon University in the wolfen realm. She teached history, but this was her first non human University job she would be working at. She was alway at a shifter school or universities, being nervous was an understatement, but she was informed by her uncle George, who was on the Alpha council, that it would be a good place for her to work and the two Alpha's Maxwell and Zachary, twins, that owned the university would protect her if she needed it but both was told to leave her to live her life and wouldn't need to be initiated into their pack if she didn't want to, just weekly updates with her uncle George was enough for her to do but her uncle George did say they didn't like it being told this.
Apparently, Alpha Maxwell was a bit of a control freak and liked to know what was happening in his pack at all times as his brother Alpha Zachary was a bit more laid back.
She arrived at the university and was greeted by Professor Dean Mathew's. He was a friend of her uncle George. He was a very tall man, with dark black hair and a very long grey beard, unmated from what her uncle George said. Professor Dean had lost his mate 10 years ago in a rouge attack. He had lots of muscles, but that was to be expected he was a wolf. He greeted her warmly and showed her to her office.
She had only one class today, and this afternoon was the faculty welcome party. She was going to meet the rest of her colleagues and the two Alpha's .She was nervous as she always kept herself private due to her past. She didn't trust people, so she would normally stay home. She didn't like to socialize. It was just easier that way when she needed to move on. No one would miss her or search for her. She would just be a teacher who moved on to another job.
The first class went well, and all the students were welcoming and interested in what she was going to teach, but the students were more fascinated that she was a shifter but didn't know what. As a jaguar, she smelled of human. Only her kin or mate can actually smell her true scent, which comes in handy with hunters. Her mother said it was a gift from the goddess herself. To protect their kind and keep them safe.
She was heading back to her cottage, which was a very nice cottage, two storey high. Lovely brick colouring, brown windows, brown door, with golden handles. Full flower garden outside, it was very pretty outside and with the forest behind it, just made it so much more beautiful. The cottage had been provided for her on campus, was more towards the east woods but still near the university, but still gave her some privacy but wasn't too far from people if she ran into trouble.
She had showered freshened up, changed into casual jeans, and a jumper, was starting to get chilly now being September. She pulled her long white blonde hair out of the bun she had it in. She thought to herself, "Let's get this over with."
She'd promised her uncle George she would try and interact with the pack this time. She normally never did. Uncle George understood her reasons why she didn't, but she felt Uncle George thought she was lonely. It wasn't that so much as she was surviving. It's what she'd done since she was 20 years old. She moved on every few years, sometimes less, so Alpha Winston wouldn't find her, kill her like the rest of her family.
Her uncle George kept track of him all these years to make sure Winston never found her wherever she went, and Uncle George would quickly notify her if Winston was getting close. George had an informant who had followed Winston or his men for years now. She knew who it was.
She made her way to the university. It was a large university. It had many classes here, and many nonworldly creatures from all over the four realms came here to learn from the professors.
The library was massive, she could live inside it, she loved books, especially the smell of old books. A large dining hall, staff rooms, common rooms for the students.
She walked to one of the function room. The university had three different size rooms. It was being held in the smallest one. She walked into the party, and she was greeted by Professor Dean Matthews. He introduced her to some of the other professors. She did notice they were witches, warlocks, wolves, and even a bear shifter among the staff, who was apparently the previous Beta to the current Alpha's father and grandfather.
Her Uncle George did inform her that this pack was a very open pack, and all had to keep peace with each other if they wanted to live and work here. Shifters had enemies for all stupid reasons, but here it wasn't allowed. If you couldn't be peaceful, you had to leave. It was that simple.
She decided to have a drink. She wasn't a big drinker but thought she'd have a glass of wine to settle her nerves. She was talking to all the professors they were fascinating, all had come from all around the world to teach here. She will enjoy working with them.
She was talking to Professor Mellor, she was a witch and teached Science. Suddenly, she smelt the most wonderful smell she'd ever smelt before, even her jaguar pushed forward a little to smell for herself, didn't know where it was coming from. She was looking round but could only see a group of very tall men.
She heard Professor Dean Mathew's say the Alpha's were here, and Halo, her jaguar, sat up in her mind. "Mate is here. No, our mates are here, two of them. Freya, we are mated to the twin Alphas," Halo said.
It's not a full moon. How is this possible. As soon as they walked in, she knew they were her mates, Halo was right, two of them. How was that possible?. She heard they were born as identical twins but looked completely different from each other, resembled each of their parents, that their parents had unique bloodlines themselves.
She could feel them looking round, s**t they've scented her themselves. "Let's go meet them, Freya," Halo said. No, we can't. Our life is too complicated, Halo, and this pack and university have been lovely to her. They don't deserve what Winston could do.
She thought she needed to get out of here, she cant have them know it's her. She apologised to Professor Mellor and said she wasn't feeling well and it was lovely to talk to her and they would speak again soon.
"Yes, of course dear, it was lovely to speak with you, il see you soon," professors Mellor said.
She would have too much to explain about her past and family, and she was in their pack. She couldn't risk Winston finding out that she was here and come looking for her.
