Glory
I followed Carter to his truck, my thoughts all over the place. Surprisingly enough, I wasn’t really afraid. I just wanted all this to be over so I could be free to love Blaze and build a life with him.
“How good are you at keeping a poker face?” Carter asked me as we headed off down the road.
“I learned early on not to wear my emotions on my face,” I muttered, staring out the window.
“From this moment on, we’re playing roles in a movie. I’m the bounty hunter, you are my prize, and all I’m concerned about is my payday.” Carter coached me. He didn’t need to tell me what would happen if Domico or the enforcer figured things out.
“Understood.” We pulled up to the Road Masters club where multiple bikers stood outside waiting. I recognized a few of them as Outcasts.
