19 Fiona and Shane talked into the night until the staff began mopping the floors around them. “Sorry, but we’re closing in ten minutes,” said the cashier. She began packing up her things. “Thank you for dinner.” “Fiona.” Shane stretched out his hand. “I work in fire and rescue. I save people for a living. And you need help. I can tell. Let me help you.” She tensed. She’d just met this guy and though he seemed like a knight in shining armor, she had an unpleasant history with men, especially Rogues.
