Carl, meanwhile, had been deep in thoughts of his own. His thoughts were far from assassination attempts, however. In fact, one could say he was thinking just the opposite. He knew quite well how out-of-favour he was with Edward, and was considering desperately how to mend the rift between himself and his king. The best way, of course, would be to work out a way into Saurahall. If he could come up with a brilliant enough plan, Edward would have to listen to him, and if it worked, he would once again be on good terms with his king. So, he put every effort into coming up with that perfect solution. It was not an easy task. Every attempt thus far to get inside had failed miserably.
