As Ken watched Joanna walk away, he felt an almost overwhelming desire to chase after her, take hold of her, and make her his own. Of course, this was impossible. Furthermore, despite this unexpected urge, he still believed that Jane was the right woman for him, and now that she was pregnant, he wanted nothing more than to start a family with her. Ken began to examine his sudden desire to possess Joanna. He thought about how, during the early days of their marriage, she'd flitted about like a happy bird.
