Chapter 13

"Yes po. How's my Mom?" Tumayo ako agad.

"I'm sorry to say this but your mommy is gone. Dead on arrival." She said sadly.

"Why didn't you do your best to make her survive?!"

"I'm sorry Ma'am but we did our best." Yumuko siya. "Maiwan ko na po muna kayo." Huling sinabi nito at umalis.

Pumasok ako sa room kung nasaan si mommy. I took her hand and blinked emphatically. No tears came out of my eyes. I'm tired, i can't cry anymore. I can't take any of this anymore. I think I will die too. Namamanhid na ako sa sakit na nararamdaman ko ngayon. Someone knocked on the door of the room where mommy and I were. Napalingon ako rito.

Pumasok ang isang lalaking hindi ko inaasahan. My anger boiled. "What are you doing here?" May halong galit kong tanong.

"You didn't eat breakfast yet. I brought you food, you should eat. You're exhausted." He said using his calm voice.

I hated his calm voice now! I remembered, I haven't eaten since I woke up but I don't feel hungry. "I have no appetite."

"Don't be stubborn and eat the food I brought for you. And Condolence."

Bakit ba nandito ang lalaking ito? "You want to kill me right? Why don't you kill me right now?"

"How can I kill you in this situation? You must eat first before I kill you."

"Why don't you just kill me immediately and leave my life?" I have no strength right now so i hope he will just kill me.

"You don't know anything. Just eat the food. We need to talk after you deal with this."

"Wala tayong pag uusapan." Nanghihina kong sabi.

"I'll pick you up at your house after you take care of everything." He disappeared again after he said that.

Nang makarating ng bahay ay sobrang pagod na pagod ako. I don't think i am in the mood to do anything. I don't feel anything at all. "Sinugod ang lola mo sa hospital." Riscent informed me.

"What?" Kahit na walang lakas ay pinilit kong harapin ang aking kaibigan.

"Nahimatay siya pagkababa ng hagdan nang makita ang daddy mo sa kalagayan niya ngayon." She explained.

She is my only grandmother who is alive right now. She is the mother of my father. My both grandfather is no longer alive, my grandmother in my mother side already died when i was still young. Siya nalang ang naiiwan na lola ko ngayon. Iniuwi ko na lang ang ibinigay ni Gail na pagkain.

"Who went with her?" I asked Riscent.

"Your tito and tita." I nodded at her.

"I need to be alone." Sabi ko bago umakyat sa aking kuwarto.

They are waiting for me all this time. I can't face them now. Nagkulong ako sa aking kuwarto. While thinking, I saw my cat.

"Are you hungry?" Tanong ko sa kaniya.

Sumagot naman siya sa pamamagitan ng meow. Kinuha ko ang pagkain na ibinigay ni Gail. "I don't feel hungry."

Pinakain ko sa pusa ang pagkain na binigay ni Gail. Did he cooked the food? Too bad, I just fed it to my cat. I feel sorry for him. What's with him? His anger for me is countless but he give me a food. I didn't thank him too. Ano naman ngayon? He is doing it on purpose so why would I thank him?

"Do you think I still can live?" Tanong ko sa aking pusa habang umiiyak.

The cat looked at me and stopped eating her food. "Continue eating." Basag kong boses ang narinig ng pusa.

Am I losing my mind? I am talking to my cat hoping that she will answer me. What kind of life is this?

My dad died. Pati ba naman ang mommy ko mawawala pa. I don't think i still can live. My brain isn't functioning anymore. It did left my body.

"I will call you Vanessa from now on, you are my cat." I stroked her fur.

Life is crazy. How did I end up like this? Is this all because of the dream?! That dream. I am so happy about it because it's helping me dealing with my daily life. I will know what will happen to my life tomorrow if i will have that kind of dream tonight. But what now? There is no free in this world anymore. Is this what are they calling give and take?

"Ate, please don't do what mommy did." Dwylle knocked at my door's room.

I don't know what to do. I will lose my mind because of all of this. "You need to eat. Please." Narinig ko ang malungkot na boses ng aking kapatid.

I should be the one doing that and not her. I'm her sister but I can't do anything. She is stronger than me. What kind of sister I am? I can't be like this. I should be the one who's comforting my younger sister, i need to be strong. I open the door of my room.

"Have you eaten?" I asked.

"I'm waiting for you. Let's eat together." Sagot niya sabay hila sa akin.

"Where's Riscent?"

"She said, she will go home but she will be back after a while."

"Okay." I prepared my sister food.

"I can do it." She insisted.

"No. I should take care of you."

"I can take care of myself." Stubborn kid.

"Is there a news about lola's condition?" Tanong ko.

Tumitig sa akin ang aking kapatid. "I haven't heard about her. I should call, tita." Sabi niya at tumayo sa kinauupuan.

"Ako na." Sabi ko at inunahan siya sa pagtayo para makuha ang aking cellphone at matawagan si tita.

"Hello, Twyla? Are you okay?" I heard tita Deliah voice.

"Yes, tita. How's lola?" Sagot ko sa kabilang linya.

"Hindi pa rin siya nagkakaroon ng malay." Malungkot na sabi ni tita.

"Gano'n po ba? Bibisita po ako d'yan mamaya."

"Naku, Twyla 'wag na. Asikasuhin mo nalang ang Mommy at Daddy mo. Kami na ng tito mo ang bahala kay mama." Tita Deliah said.

"Thank you, po. Gusto ko pong bisitahin si lola. Palitan ko din po kayo sa pagbabantay sa kaniya."

"Twyla, hindi na. Kami na ang bahala rito. Bantayan mo nalang ang mommy at daddy mo. Magigising din ang lola mo at makakauwi rin kami." Tita convinced me.

I looked at my parents for one last time before wiping my tears. "Thank you for all the memories and for everything."

I need to move on from what happened. Even though, i want to stop and rest for a bit, the world will not adjust for me. Life goes on, no matter what happen. There's no exception. The living continues. Kahit na ayaw kong harapin ito pagkatapos ng lahat, patuloy ang daloy ng buhay.

I want my normal life back. I realized, maybe, if it's not because of that dream, everything is still fine. Nangilid ang aking luha sa aking mga naiisip. I will still have a complete family, maybe it's my fault. Everything in my life is fine before that dream came. I just realized it now.

"Can I sleep in your house?" Riscent asked.

"Yes." Sagot ko sa kaniya. Lola can't attend the burial of my parents, she is still so weak and still inside the hospital. I visited her once.

"I want to tell you something, later."

"Sure." I did everything I need to take care of. I've been so tired these past few days. I didn't sleep so well.

"Since I dreamed a strange dream it continued until now." Kuwento ni Riscent na ikinagulat ko.

"What?" Pati ang sarili kong kaibigan ay nadamay na.

What happened? Is it Gail who did this? I need to talk to him but I don't think I can, at my situation right now. I don't know how to face all of my problems.

"I saw someone on my dream who looks like you."

"Looks like me? What i'm doing in your dream?"

I've got a feeling that this is a bad news. I don't know how will I deal with this. Problem can't be stopped, it continues everywhere. What should I do now? Can I still live in this situation? My life is already a mess.

"I saw you on my dream." Halos wala ako sa aking sarili habang kinakausap ang aking kaibigan.

"Hmm? What happened?" Matamlay kong tanong.

"I feel like it is not you. You killed someone who looks like me in my dream."

"What?" Nabuhay ang aking dugo sa buong katawan nang dahil sa sinabi ni Riscent.

She nodded. "That's what on my dream. And some guy came he saw you killed that girl."

"A guy? Me and you? What? I can't understand." Sabi ko at ginulo ang aking buhok.

"The way I looks in my dream is different I feel something is up. Something is strange and wrong."

"What is it?"

"It feels like it already happened. Did that happen in our past life?"

"Maybe? But why did you dream something like that?"

"I'm really curious too. Para nga akong mababangungot pero hindi naman."

We're in our living area watching a movie. Dwylle is inside her room. "I need to find out."

"How?" Natigil kami sa pag uusap nang may narinig kaming doorbell galing sa gate.

"Who's that?" Riscent asked.

"I don't know?" Nagkibit balikat ako sa aking kaibigan.

"Are you expecting a visitor?"

"Sino naman?" Sabi ko at tumayo na para tingnan kung sino ang nasa harap ng aming gate.

I opened the door of our house so i can go outside. Nanlaki ang aking mata nang makita ang pamilyar na lalaki sa harapan ng aming gate. What is that guy doing here? Halos mailuwa ko ang popcorn na aking kinakain. Lumapit ako sa aming gate at binuksan ito para makausap ang lalaki.

"What are you doing here?" Bungad kong tanong sa kaniya.

"Did you forget about our deal?" Nakapamulsa siya habang nakasandal sa kaniyang sasakyan.

"What kind of deal?" Napaisip ako. I find him attractive in that position. The f**k! I said i'm gonna forget everything about this.

"Do you want to get rid of the dream now?" He raised his one eyebrow.

"Yeah." I nodded at him.

"Really?" He asked as if he doesn't believe what i said.

"Get inside first." Anyaya ko.

I really did forget about that. He said he will pick me up in our house. Pinapasok ko muna siya sa bahay namin.

"Who is he, Twyla?" Tanong ni Riscent.

Nagkatinginan kami ni Gail. Mag ka ano-ano nga ba kami ng lalaking ito?

"He's my friend from somewhere."

Until now I didn't know where this guy lives. Does he have his own house? Or something?

"You didn't tell me that you have a handsome boyfriend." Riscent whispered and smirked at me.

"He is not my boyfriend." I stared at my friend angrily.

Ano bang pinagsasabi ng babaeng ito? "Hi! Twyla didn't tell me about you." Kumaway pa si Riscent.

I prepared them some meryenda. "I will just take a bath. Diyan muna kayo." Sabi ko sabay tingin kay Gail.

He nodded at me. "Sure." Sagot naman ni Riscent. He is still a stranger to me.

Nakakahiya! Bakit ko ba sinabi kay Riscent na kaibigan ko ang lalaking iyon? Do we look like we're friends? We don't even know each other. Or he knew me? Did I really killed his family? Is it in the past life? May ganoon ba? Punong puno ng palaisipan ang aking utak habang naliligo. I don't know anything. Or can't I remember it? Tama lang na makipag usap sa lalaking iyon ngayon.

"Ikaw na muna ang bahala rito. I will be back before dinner." Paalam ko kay Riscent.

"Sure." Riscent wave at me. She even winked.

"Please take care of Dwylle. I will pay you back later."

She just smiled at me. Lumabas ako ng bahay kasama si Gail. Sumunod pa si Riscent hanggang sa gate. Pumasok na ako sa kotse ni Gail.

"Why are you opening that?" Gail asked.
