Given to the alpha

Fia's pov I didn't know how many times I rolled over that night. Sleep came in broken fragments, never deep enough to grant peace. Every time my eyes drifted shut, she returned to me. That intoxicating scent. That velvet-soft voice whispering against my skin, "Tonight… I'm going to help you find out." My eyes flew open, heart racing. One name invaded my thoughts like poison. Alpha Kael. My chest tightened until breathing hurt. There was no way I was marrying him. Earlier this evening, I had never truly fought the idea, not because I wanted it, but because I hadn't known what I wanted. Every handsome Alpha my father paraded before me had left me feeling hollow. No spark. No desire. Nothing. I had spent years wondering if something inside me was broken. But then the Moon Goddess placed her in my path. One touch. One night. One unforgettable awakening. Now I knew the truth with terrifying clarity. I didn't want a man. Not now. Not while these new, consuming feelings burned through my veins. I wanted time to explore them. To understand who I truly was. Not to spend the rest of my life pretending to be the perfect Luna, bearing children for a stranger who would never make me feel even half of what she had. With a frustrated groan, I threw the blanket aside and climbed out of bed. The room suddenly felt suffocating. I began pacing across the wooden floor, bare feet moving restlessly as memories and fears collided. Father's slap. The packed suitcases waiting like graves. Alpha Kael. And always… her. No matter how hard I tried to focus on tomorrow, my mind kept drifting back to the mysterious woman from the club. I stopped beside the window, staring into the quiet darkness outside. "Did she bewitch me?" I whispered. I closed my eyes and called my wolf. "Lulu…" My wolf stretched lazily inside my mind. Hmm? "I need your help, Lulu. I can't think straight." She let out a dreamy, satisfied sigh. That's because she smelled incredible. Like sin and moonlight. I still taste her on our tongue. "Lulu," I warned. What? she replied innocently. I'm simply being honest. I rubbed my temples. "Oh, Moon Goddess… why did you give me such a shameless wolf?" Lulu's laughter echoed softly. Because one sensible Fia is already enough. Despite everything, the corner of my mouth twitched. Only Lulu could make me smile while my world crumbled. The smile faded too quickly. "Lulu… what do we do about Alpha Kael?" This time, she didn't answer right away. The playful warmth in my head dimmed. Finally, she whispered, "I don't want him either." Relief flooded through me. "I don't, either." But rejecting an Alpha wasn't as simple as saying no. I pressed my forehead against the cool glass. "So what do we do?" There was a long silence after I asked that question. For the first time since I'd known her, Lulu had no clever reply. "I could run," I murmured. Even as the words left my lips, I knew how impossible they were. Run where? Kael ruled the North. My father would hunt me. Every allied pack would recognize me. I would spend the rest of my life looking over my shoulder. My knees buckled. I sank slowly to the floor beneath the window, wrapping my arms around myself. For the first time in my life, I felt truly trapped, not by walls or locked doors, but by fate itself. The hours crawled by. The moon slipped away. Darkness gave way to streaks of grey, then pale gold. Birds began singing outside, oblivious to the end of my world. A sharp knock shattered the fragile silence. "Lady Fia," the maid's voice trembled. "Alpha Kael has arrived." My heart stopped. Another knock sounded against my bedroom door. "Your father requests your presence downstairs." "I won't go," I whispered. Hurried footsteps retreated. Moments later, the door burst open. Father stormed in, face thunderous. "Do not embarrass me today." "I said I'm not going." "You don't have a choice, Fia." "I'd rather die, father." His jaw tightened. Without another word, he grabbed my wrist and dragged me toward the door. I struggled, digging my heels into the floor, clawing at the doorframe, but it was useless. He hauled me down the hallway and toward the staircase. I could already sense them. Heavy boots. The metallic clink of weapons. The overwhelming aura of raw power. Servants lined the walls, heads bowed, barely daring to breathe. Father shoved me down the final steps. And then I saw him. Alpha Kael stood at the center of our home as though the entire estate already belonged to him. Tall and broad-shouldered, dressed entirely in black, he radiated authority like a storm cloud ready to break. His presence filled the room, heavy and commanding, demanding submission from every wolf present without him needing to speak a single word. Power clung to him like a second skin. quiet, absolute, and dangerous. His warriors flanked him, armed and alert, yet none of them felt as threatening as the man they protected. His face revealed nothing. No anger. No impatience. Only cold, unshakable indifference. Those dark eyes settled on me. Lulu whimpered inside my head. He's dangerous. Father shoved me forward. "Alpha Kael," he said, bowing so low his forehead nearly touched the floor. "This is my daughter." I jerked free of his grip. "I'm not his!" The words rang through the hall like a challenge. Gasps rippled through the room. Mother covered her mouth. My sister looked ready to faint. I pointed at Kael with a trembling hand. "I will never belong to you!" For one endless, suffocating moment, no one moved. Father's face drained of color as he reached for me again. "I'm sorry, Alpha. She doesn't know what she's—" "Don't." he warned calmly. One word. Yet it froze the entire room. Father stopped instantly as if struck. Kael's gaze never left mine. "If she is now my property," he said evenly, his deep voice carrying the weight of absolute command, "you don't touch what belongs to me." The silence was deafening. Father lowered his hand at once. "Forgive me, Alpha." Mother dropped to her knees, tears streaming. "Our daughter is frightened. Please… forgive her foolishness." My sister followed, bowing until her forehead touched the floor. I stumbled backward, fresh tears burning my eyes. "No…" I turned and ran. I barely reached the front door before powerful arms caught me. I screamed, kicking wildly, but another guard seized my wrists. Thick leather straps tightened around them. My ankles were bound next. I fought until my lungs burned and my wrists ached, but the restraints held. Kael watched it all without a flicker of emotion. The guards carried me outside to a long black vehicle. They placed me in the back seat and secured another strap across my waist. No matter how hard I struggled, it didn't give. Only then did Kael approach. He moved with deliberate, unhurried power, every step reinforcing his dominance. He didn't glance at my kneeling family. He simply slid into the seat beside me. The door shut. The lock clicked. And with the roar of the engine, my old life vanished behind us.
