I hadn’t wanted to go to the work picnic by myself because I knew my friends would all be wrapped up in their lovers as usual, causing jealousy to streak through me. Wren busied herself at the food table, her gaze crossing the pavilion countless times to check in with Blake. Madeline labored alongside her to get things ready, and Colton leaned against Hudson, both not bothering to keep their lustful eyes off the woman who made up their triad.
A few other families had brought their kids, and for the first time since I’d been working for Harper’s Construction, I had the pleasure of being involved in their antics because I hadn’t arrived alone.
