Chapter 28 Jessica I kept an eye on my living room window overlooking the parking lot and took note of when Reid pulled into one of the visitor spots. He backed in to better keep a watch on the building. He was far enough away he wouldn’t need to lean forward to see my second-floor window but close enough I could easily make out his face. He lifted a hand in greeting, and the flutters in my belly brought a smile to my lips, the first of the day. I waved before turning toward Cassie who sat in her booster at the kitchen table eating generic mac and cheese. My cell dinged, but it took me a few minutes to clean up my daughter from her early dinner.
