Chapter 3: Counterattack and Vindication

"An early review?!" Liu Yue exclaimed, nearly dropping her coffee cup.

This was clearly Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang's doing, trying to catch her off guard!

"They're really trying to push me to the brink!"

Jiang Yu held Liu Yue tenderly, whispering in her ear, "Don't worry, I'm here." A fierce glint appeared in his deep eyes. "They must have a death wish to mess with my girl."

The next day, Liu Yue arrived at the company early to make her final preparations.

She took a deep breath, giving herself a pep talk. "Liu Yue, you can do this! Today, you are the queen!"

However, when she turned on her computer to make final checks, she discovered that her project presentation file had been maliciously tampered with!

Key data had been altered, the proposal's logic completely disrupted, and the entire file was a mess.

She knew this was Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang's last-ditch effort to ruin her project!

"I believe this file will shed some light on the situation." She placed the file gently on the table, her tone calm but commanding.

Inside the file were reports detailing Wang Qiang's budget discrepancies, photos of him and Zhang Ling meeting with Li Cheng, and even email records showing Secretary Zhou helping them cover up their actions.

The evidence was irrefutable.

The meeting room erupted in whispers. People looked at Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang with disdain and contempt.

"What a classic case of betrayal," someone muttered. "I can't believe they bit the hand that fed them!"

Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang's faces turned ashen, like withered eggplants.

They never imagined Liu Yue had gathered so much evidence against them!

They thought that by destroying Liu Yue's project, they could ruin her reputation, but instead, they had shot themselves in the foot.

Manager Zhao, seeing the evidence, realized he had been deceived and had wronged Liu Yue.

His face flushed red, and he coughed awkwardly before sternly announcing, "Zhang Ling, Wang Qiang, you both have severely violated company regulations and harmed the company's interests. Effective immediately, you are terminated!" He then turned to Liu Yue, his tone full of both apology and admiration. "Liu Yue, thanks to you, we were able to avoid greater losses for the company. Your capability and dedication are something we should all learn from. I hereby decide to promote you and give you a raise, and you will take full charge of the project's next phase!"

Liu Yue smiled faintly, accepting Manager Zhao's praise and appointment.

She knew this was just the beginning of her career—there were more challenges ahead.

As for Secretary Zhou, while she wasn't fired, she received appropriate punishment, casting a shadow over her career.

At that moment, the meeting room door suddenly opened, and a man in a sharp suit, exuding a powerful presence, walked in.

He walked straight up to Liu Yue, his lips curling into a knowing smile. "Miss Liu, we meet again." Liu Yue looked up slightly, her eyes clear but with a hint of coldness, her tone calm and unwavering. "Mr. Li, fancy seeing you here. I didn't expect we'd meet again." She emphasized the word "again," as if reminding Li Cheng of their unpleasant past encounter.

Li Cheng forced an awkward smile, trying to cover up his embarrassment. "Miss Liu, you really are impressive. This whole situation has truly opened my eyes." He paused, then extended an olive branch. "I can see that your current company is limiting your growth. Why not come work for us? I guarantee you'll have better opportunities and a more expansive platform." He was confident that no one could refuse his offer.

Liu Yue's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Mr. Li, are you trying to take advantage of the situation? I may be young, but I'm not foolish. I won't work for a company that uses underhanded tactics, nor will I associate with people who play dirty behind the scenes." Her voice was firm, rejecting Li Cheng without hesitation.

Li Cheng's face stiffened. He hadn't expected Liu Yue to reject him so openly, putting him in an awkward position.

He suppressed his anger, forcing a smile. "Miss Liu, think carefully. Opportunities like this don't come twice."

"Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Li," Liu Yue replied, meeting his gaze fearlessly. "But I'm not interested in the 'opportunity' your company offers." Her tone was filled with disdain, making Li Cheng's face darken even more.

Having hit a wall, Li Cheng left the meeting room in frustration.

He had intended to poach Liu Yue and strike a blow at his competitors, but instead, he had been humiliated. It was a classic case of trying to steal a chicken only to end up losing the rice.

Watching Li Cheng's hasty retreat, Liu Yue felt a sense of exhilaration.

She took a deep breath, feeling more relaxed than ever.

Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out over the bustling city, she felt a great sense of achievement.

She had finally gained a foothold in the workplace. The path ahead would be one she would walk with even more determination and confidence.

"Phew—" She exhaled deeply, a confident smile spreading across her face.

However, what Liu Yue didn't know was that, in a corner of the company, a pair of cold eyes were watching her closely...

"You two, gossiping during work hours isn't very professional, is it?"

Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang jumped, their faces instantly turning pale.

They hadn't expected Liu Yue to appear suddenly. Their eyes darted nervously, unable to say a word.

Liu Yue didn't waste time on them. She simply dropped the evidence she had prepared onto the desk.

"These are the proofs of your collusion with Mr. Li, as well as the full record of how you tried to sabotage me. I suggest you both go to Manager Zhao and come clean for a lighter punishment, or else..." Liu Yue paused deliberately, her gaze sharp as she looked at them. "Face the consequences."

Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang looked at the evidence on the desk, their faces ashen, like withered eggplants.

They knew it was over for them.

When Manager Zhao saw the evidence, he was furious and immediately fired Zhang Ling and Wang Qiang.

Thanks to her outstanding work on the project, Liu Yue not only earned Manager Zhao's recognition but also got promoted and received a raise.

After work, Liu Yue walked home in high spirits, humming a tune with a spring in her step.
