RINA'S POV "Happy birthday my angels," I heard my mum's voice immediately as I and Catherine stepped into the garden. I have actually waited for this day to come. Catherine And I will be turning 18 today and I can't wait to get my wolf. I have always prayed to the goddess to make Lucas my fated mate because of how close we are. Lucas happens to be the son and next Alpha in line to Alpha Douglas of Silver spoon pack. While I was born into the beta family of our pack. I was actually the third out of three children and also a twin. My twin Catherine and I look identical but have different behavior. She happens to be the lively one and obviously I'm the dull one but still at that we do things together. We usually refer to Catherine as Cat and she was actually our parents favourite. My eldest brother and only brother Eric always dote on us. Lucas, the future Alpha was actually the only friend I had and my secret crush. He always promised to stand by me and be with me no matter what happened. He was actually popular because he happens to be the future Alpha while I was invincible. "Come on my angels, come and cut the cake." My mum said as she brought out the cake and placed it in the middle of everyone. People started taking pictures and cheering for us. We both approached the cake and for a moment I closed my eyes and made a wish. "I hope this will be the start of something beautiful in my life." Then we both blew out the candles together and cut the cake. I could see the smile on my parents' faces; it seems they have really been anticipating this day for so long. I cut a slice of cake and gave it to my mum first, then my dad. I looked around and noticed my twin was missing. As usual she doesn't stay in one place, she must have gone to be with her friends rather than her family. More guests came forward to congratulate us or rather me, since Cat wasn't here. I represented both of us. Alpha Douglas and his wife Luna Matilda came forward with smiles on their faces, "Happy birthday Rina," Alpha Douglas said in a warm voice. "Eighteen is such a big year." I couldn't help but give him a big hug. Apart from my dad, I also see him as my second dad. I was straining my neck to see if Lucas was behind them but I couldn't find him anywhere. I was surprised that he hasn't come to wish me a happy birthday yet. I welcomed the other guests and thanked them for coming. At this point I was starting to feel worried. Cat was nowhere to be seen, she wasn't with her friends either. I had to go ahead and ask her friends if they had seen her anywhere. "Ohh, you are looking for your twin?," Nora, her best friend said as she looked at me with a smirk on her face. I don't even know why she always thinks that everything is funny. "Come, let's show you where she is." Lisa said as she dragged my hands out of the garden and away from the crowd. "Where exactly are you taking me to," I asked her as I struggled to remove my hands from her grip which was already hurting me. Before I knew it she pushed me to the ground and they both started to humiliate me. Lisa and Nora had never liked me but my sister was always there to defend me but now she isn't here. "Wolfless wolf, I see no reason why you should still be among us." Nora said as she spat at me. "Yes I haven't found my wolf yet but I'm not the only one. Cat hasn't seen hers." I said while I tried to get back to my feet. "Is that what she told you?," Lisa said and both of them started laughing. I was confused at this point. There was no way Cat would have gotten her wolf and hid it from me. I was already in a mess and I couldn't go back to the party looking like this. I needed to change. I made my way to the house, it looked so quiet but at some point I heard a sound coming from upstairs which was in the direction of my room. The sound kept increasing as I kept approaching my room. What was going on? Is anyone in my room? I reached the door and the sound which I heard happens to be breathy moans, soft gasps. My heart hammered in my chest. I didn't know why but I felt something was wrong. I was curious to know who was in my room. I turned the door knob slowly and opened the door. I was careful not to make a sound. I wanted to catch whoever was in my room red handed. My eyes widened at what I just saw. Lucas was lying naked on my bed with Catherine by his side, her face flushed. Her hands intertwined with his. I was so shocked. I felt this strange feeling in me. My heart started to ache and for a second I fell to the ground holding onto my chest. "Now you have seen where your sister is," I heard Nora's voice from him behind me. I didn't know that they were following me all this while. Immediately Lucas looked at me with so much surprise in his eye and I noticed he uttered a word but I wasn't able to hear it. Why does my chest hurt so much just by seeing them? "No this can't happen," I heard Catherine's voice as she looked at Lucas. "Did you just say the word 'Mate'?," she asked him with a surprised look on her face. Nora and Lisa also turned to look at him. Everyone was just waiting for his response. "Yes, Rina is my Mate."
