Chapter 4

“Do you have everything,” my dad asked.  “Yes, dad” I replied with a short nod.  After we all said our goodbyes Aaron and I got into the car. He insisted on coming with me. No matter how many times I told him no. I was about to close my door when a hand stopped me,  “Remember darkness does not always equate to evil, just as light does not always bring good,” my uncle Jimmy said with a serious face before hugging me, then shut my door.   Here I think I should explain: My uncle is the Don of the American Mafia, and that’s what they say, you could say it's their motto. They never go on a mission without saying it first. my mom came up with it. The American Mafia is at its highest peak and it’s the most powerful mafia dominated and organized crime in the United States. After is the five families. It goes the Gambino, Lucchese, Genovese, Borana, and Colombo family. There used to be six families, but after the red mafia family broke the most important rule in the mafia rules and treaty 26 years ago. The rule that they broke was to not lay a hand, kidnap, or kill women and children who do not wish to partake in this world married in or not. 26 years ago, he killed and declared war on almost all five families. He saw the power rise in younger generations such as my mom and uncle so the Don of the Red Mafia at the time went on his killing spree. For the American Mafia, he didn’t get far enough to kill to many. So, he was banished, they didn’t kill him because they thought that his Mafia would come back to finish what he started when people were morning the ones we lost and take advantage of us in our weak moment so he was banished. Looks like he’s back now. My mom grew up getting ready to take over the Mafia from her father. She was the oldest and showed the most interest, so it was her birthright. It’s funny you know, my mom went on a mission and that’s where she met my dad, a Mafia leader and a police commissioner fell in love, but hey that’s a story for a different time.  “Hey, you okay?” Aaron asked pulling me out of my thoughts.  I gave him a small smile saying “I guess there's no turning back now”  “Knowing you we won't go back at all in less we have Makaylah,” he says while looking back as are family got smaller while I drove.  Aaron and I didn’t think. We practically started a mission with no intel. Now that I think about it, if mom was here, she probably wouldn't be so disappointed in us, because we're together and fighting to get family back. I don’t let a lot of people in but the people who make it past all of the walls that I have put up are my family.  “What are we supposed to do first?” Aaron asked looking at me suspiciously.   “We got to look for our own clues, retrace her steps from when she left. Check all over town and its borders. This town is so big for all we know she could be right in front of us.” I say stressing about what could happen if we don’t find her.  “While we are looking out here, Uncle Jimmy is going to be doing everything he can, right?” He questioned.  I look over at my brother for a minute “That's what he said,” I tell him as I focus back on the road.  2 Days Later: We have been driving around for almost 2 days, I'm losing my patience. Yesterday we found out that the Red Mafia was having us followed. They were waiting for us to leave and watching us look all over town for Makaylah. I wanted to go out and confront them, but Aaron said that it would be better if we just lost them. It took us forever to lose them though I'm not sure that we lost them fully. The only people I can count on are Aaron and myself to find Makaylah. Aaron wanted to stop for food so, right now we are at a diner waiting for our food.  “Where is our food, I'm hungry” Aaron whined like a little baby.  “chill, okay?” I take a look around,” Wait, hold on, somethings not right,” I say confused looking around.  Before he could answer the waitress brought us our food and left with a small nod. Something wasn’t right, I could feel it in my bones that something was wrong. I looked over at Aaron and before he could take a bite, I knocked the fork out of his hand.  “HEY WHA-” Aaron started to yell before I cut him off,  “Stop Aaron, and listen to me something is not right so, act as if everything is okay and get outside before something happens, okay?” I tell him  He nods and gets up to leave. He took out his phone to make it look like he was taking a phone call, uh smart. After a minute I hurry up and get up. As I'm walking to the door, I see a sketchy man emerge from the back room. I instantly know that he is a part of the Red Mafia. I quickly opened the door and ran, good thing I did too because there was a BOMB. I was only just far enough to not be affected by the bomb’s explosion. Aaron looked so scared. It looks like now we're getting tested. I have had enough of all this bullshit, it’s out of hand. I need to find my best friend.  “Hold on Aaron, I need to call uncle Jimmy,” I say as we walk in the park to the car  “Okay, I'm going to the car,” He says walking to the car.  I took my phone out and found his number. After the longest time, he finally answered his phone.  “Hey kiddo, I was actually about to call you. I have a location.” Jimmy says as soon as he answers.  “Finally, look uncle we almost got blown up, but luckily were fine so, thank you for letting me know you have a location.”  I tiredly say.  “Of course, I’m glad that you guys are okay, but remember what they said we don’t find them in less they wanted to be found so, please Aren be careful” I could hear the concern in his voice.  “Of course, I understand, thank you, I got to go now please text me the address, I love you,”   “Love you too and sending it now, bye,” He said hanging up.  As soon as he hung up, I got the message with the address to a warehouse a mile out of town. I hurried up and made my way to the car where Aaron was waiting. I told him the I got the address so, we headed out.
