Chapter 3

539 Words
I stayed the night at the Curtis', I may or may not have got a little bit drunk. I don't smoke or do anything else, but I do drink. It's my one weakness. I guess even 'good girls' have that one thing that's 'bad'. I woke up to the loud noise of the radio and tv. My head hurt, hangover. I winced at the light as I opened my eyes. "She's awake!" Soda screamed. "Yeah. I'm awake. Now please shut up. Headache..." My voice was croaky. Soda nodded and turned the radio off. "That's why you don't drink, baby." Dally said as he jumped on the sofa. "Huh, really? You're one to talk, Dal." He laughed and he swung his arm around me. "Well that's me, babe, I'm not as 'mature' as you." I laughed and buried my head into his arm. Suddenly I felt sick. I shot up and ran to the bathroom. I made it just in time and threw up in the toilet. The taste was vile. I wiped my mouth on a towel and walked through to the kitchen. I grabbed a glass out the cupboard and filled it with water, it got rid of the taste in my mouth. I walked back through to the living room and sat down on the sofa. "You okay, baby?" Dally asked, concern in his voice. "Yeah. I'm fine." I produced a little smile. I knew if I'd gone home last night my mum would've killed me. She says that drinking will ruin me and it will make me not focus on my school work. It's stupid, she doesn't get at Marci for anything and she smokes, drinks, sleeps around, but no just me. "Hey, Asha. You okay?" Ponyboy asked, he was walking downstairs so he must not have heard Dally ask. I nodded, I couldn't be bothered to speak. Dally had gone and was in the kitchen, probably eating chocolate cake. We sat in silent for a bit then Dally called, from the kitchen, "Asha! Can I have a word." I got up and walked through to the kitchen. Twobit and Steve following me. "Alone." Dally said when he saw Two and Steve. They walked out sadly. "I was wondering if you'd like to go to the drive in with me tomorrow?" A smile crept onto my face. "What like a date?" I asked. "Yeah. Like a date. Just us two." I giggled. Something about Dally sent my stomach weird, but I liked it. I nodded and squealed, "Yes!" He smiled and picked me up, I wrapped my legs around his body, he kissed me. When we let go I realised most of the gang had been hidden behind the door. "Ew!" Twobit screamed. Soda hit him. "Shut up! It's cute." "I agree with Soda." Pony said. The rest of the gang agreed. Dally and I just laughed and looked at each other. I love Dallas Winston, the only thing is he isn't right for me. I can tell. The way he acts and he always flirts around other girls. I know it means nothing but it hurts. It makes it feel like he doesn't love me back. I trust him though. Why would he betray me?
