Chapter 1
Ethan breathed in the cool night air, the rustle of the leaves in the trees, and the howl of a distant wolf making his heart race. He glanced at his pack leader, who was leading them through the dense forest.
"Are we close?" he asked.
The pack leader nodded, "Just a bit further. It's important that we stick together, this part of the forest is dangerous."
Ethan nodded, feeling the excitement build inside him. He'd been looking forward to the full moon all month, and tonight he'd finally be able to transform into his wolf form.
As they neared the clearing, Ethan saw the other members of his pack already gathered around the bonfire. They were chatting and laughing, looking as eager as he was.
"Hey Ethan," Maya called out, waving at him. "Glad you could make it."
Ethan smiled, feeling a jolt of electricity run through him. He'd always thought Maya was beautiful, but seeing her under the full moonlight, with her eyes shining like diamonds, he felt like he was seeing her for the first time.
He sat down beside her, taking in the warmth of the fire and the smell of the forest. They chatted for a while, catching up on the latest pack news and sharing stories of their lives outside the pack.
As the moon began to rise higher in the sky, Ethan felt his body starting to shift. He stood up, stretching his limbs and feeling the fur sprout from his skin.
Maya followed suit, and they howled together, feeling the power of the moon fill them.
As they ran through the forest, chasing each other and laughing, Ethan couldn't help but feel a pull towards Maya. He felt like he'd found his soulmate, someone who understood him in a way that no one else could.
As they lay under the moonlight, their bodies intertwined, Ethan whispered, "I think I'm falling in love with you, Maya."
Maya looked at him, her eyes shining. "I feel the same way, Ethan. But we have to be careful. You know the pack won't approve of us being together."
Ethan nodded, feeling a pang of sadness. He knew that their love would be seen as a threat to the pack's hierarchy and that they would have to choose between their love and their loyalty.
But as they lay there, wrapped up in each other, Ethan couldn't help but feel that their love was worth fighting for.
