Alena POV 

KNOCK KNOCK......

Come in, I said

Mam, Brian sir have arrived , Sophia said.

okay. Sophia bring me the files of the today's pro bono case, I said to her and she left my office after that i took my phone and called Brian. 

hey, you are late today that is so unlike you is something wrong i asked him. I will tell you he answered me. I hope it's nothing serious i said. No its just usual personal stuff i will tell my my pugg he answered.

Brian stop calling me that you know i hate that name i said sounding a little irritated he started calling me by that name when we are in college since i have a little fluffy cheeks so he started calling me pugg.

why, you know we are besties and i can call you whatever i want so don't try you will not be able to stop me so don't even try. he said with a laugh and i sighed as i know its true i won't be able to stop him as my friends are very important part of my life and i gave them liberty in my life so i decide to call it off and asked him to come to my office.

HEY Pugg, Brian said by opening the door of my office and sat in front of me. So what is it your personal thing tell me I asked him.

You know yesterday I went to the club with my old friends to grab drinks and there I met this hot girl.....

and she hit on you and you had s*x that's why you are late today, i said by completing the sentence. 

How do you know,  he asked you know i know you better than you know yourself that's why we are still best friends I answered with a smile. Yes i know him very well and can tell anything about him without asking him and he also can do the same for me. We understand each other and also care a lot about each other.

So anything serious can happen, I asked him still knowing the answer as he answered no, you know me after April I never felt anything towards anyone . Its just s*x nothing else.

yeah, I know but still you should try to give someone a chance to come in your life you can't live like this, I said to him. 

Can you do that, he asked me.

Things you just told me can you do that, he asked.

Smile on my face disappeared after hearing the question. I hate the idea of giving some one the importance in my life to control my feelings. The memories started to come in my mind from my painful past.

NO, you know i can't do that, i answered.

So you also sholud not ask me to do that, you know i can't do that either . Brian answered.

Okay, okay i give up. So are you ready for the meeting with Mr.Romano at 12. I asked him.

Yeah, don't worry I got this and also I wanted to inform you something, He said in a serious tone.

Yeah tell me what is it, I asked him . You know about the knight enterprise? He asked.

Hmm, not so much just that they are the biggest companies in America and holds almost 60 per cent of the industrial buisness. I answered with a confusion as they are the biggest company why Brian is talking about them.

Well there is a negotiations against them and the other party approached me and i took the case, he replied.

YOU WHAT? I asked in disbelief.

Yes, and you have to help me in this thing I really want to win this. Please Alena? He asked with his puppy eyes so that i can agree but i don't put myself in the trouble situation so i answered, No you know Brian  i chose my clients and work on my terms and we have already decided that you work on you case and i work on mine. So don't ask me you know i can't say no to you  and i won't be able to work with them as they top class billionares are really not my thing. So please do it on your own and if you want i can help from outside not being directly involved in the situation, i answered.

OKAY, mam as your wish, he said with a smile.

Well,tomorrow is the negotiations and I have a lot to do so I will leave you with your work and see you at 12, he said and left my office. After that Sophia came in give me the files and i left for my court presentation.

At the court, as expected i won the case and judgement was in my client support as she got divorce from his abusive husband and also the custody of their kids. The look on the face of the opposite council was worth watching when he lost the case to me. I love this feeling, it is like drugs to me. winning and making myself proud was the great feeling.

I returned to my office and Brian was already waiting in the conference room as Mr. Romano has already arrived at the company. I got their and apologized for being late. Mr. Romano is a very sweet person he politely said no need to apologize, Alena we all very well aware you take your work very seriously.

I smiled, so shall we start the meeting, I asked and Brian gave the presentation and we discussed our strategy and Mr. Romano being satisfied gave the case to us.

We said goodbye to each other by shaking hands and Brian asked me join him for lunch so we decided to go to my favourite resturant for lunch. He asked me to come with him in his car so i decided to leave the idea of bike riding and go with him.

At the resturant, the waitress took our order by giving all her attention to Brian and why not he is very handsome with his perfect body, His black hair and blue eyes with a fair skin. All the girls drool over him but me being his friend never felt anything as i don't like to mix the relationships.

As our food arrived we started to discuss about the knight case and he told me that he is really nervous and really wanna win this. I assured him he can as he is very skilled and he will win this. We continued to talk about the case and he told me that he needs some evidence to prove his side and i assured him i will find it as i have my connections to do this type of work. We finished off our lunch and went back to the office the rest of the day went normal and at the evening i decided to call the day off and decided to go back.
