Is he really serious about this? I asked myself. “You can’t be serious!” I said hysterically, more like beg for his mercy. “I don’t know anything yet about that job! You haven’t oriented—trained me yet!” I said trying to make sense and to be rational but when I saw the corner of his lips move upward and his eyes glisten with amusement I f*****g know that talking isn’t going to help me.
