“Cinderella is not a story for me.” The realization was too late for Natalia to have. As she is dragged and finds her way stripped naked and helpless in the arms of the man that she didn’t know and love. Waking up to face the mockery of her step-sister, and the condemnation from her father and stepmother, she then finds out that she is being sold to be the wife of an old tycoon for the sake of their family business. Worst, her first love is one hell of a traitor who betrays her with her step-sister.

“Die or marry that man. That is your only choice.” Facing doom and death, she chooses to run away. Run away for good and die being chased by her fate. But.

“You surely are interesting, why not become my wife instead?” Jet black hair, but red pair of eyes. The offer that Natalia could never refuse. Facing the demon, no, a vampire in front of her. She accepted the consequence, for just how worse is it to be being the wife of the vampire who turns out to be the most powerful, influential, and riches young bachelor and tycoon, Nikolas Azazel.

CHAPTER I
(RUN AWAY BRIDE) “WHY?” She asks herself that question. No, stupidly asks that question that she knew the answer to.  “I am stupid, really naïve.” Words and the truth that she blames herself and nobody else for the tragedy and cruelty that she receives and has been holding inside without a word of complaint or anything during those times.  “Just what did I do wrong to receive this kind of fate?” Her tears are falling, but it wasn’t that visible due to the hard pouring of the rain and the coldness that she is easing. Running away without direction, but only with her will to escape the predicament that her family put her into.  “It is either you marry that man or die.” “Why?” She asks again, remembering those words that her father just told her the very first day and the time that they sentence her into the life that she never wishes, nor ever wanted.  “I need to get away. I need to escape and run away for good.” Her conviction. The thing that she only wanted right now and the realization that she got after waking up from being that stupid and naïve heiress of her fake family and turning out unloving father.  “Their betrayal will no longer put me down anymore. I will never yield. I will survive and get away from this place for good!” She tightly holds on to her ripped dress. That white wedding gown that she dreams of wearing on the day of her wedding. The wedding that she hopes to be with the one she loves and promises to take care of her. But.  “You see, I never wanted someone as stupid as you. The truth is that I only use you to have everything that I wanted. Most of all, I didn’t love you even once.” ‘BETRAYAL.’ The pain and curses that the word means to her now. Ripping her into pieces and making her cry for the man that she shouldn’t have trusted. She shouldn’t have loved. Yet, she who is thirsty for affection and attention falls to that man who in turn just like the rest, only used her for their benefit.  “This is all your fault, Natalia. Everything of this, your suffering from the very beginning, is all your fault.” She degrades herself from the pain that her life causes her. Blaming herself for this cruel predicament that she is running away from. Her naivety and foolishness drown her in this darkness. This leads her to lose everything, and now she is running away with nothing, even her pride as a woman.  “She may be the daughter of an influential and wealthy family that the high society is respecting. But she is nothing compared to the legal daughter, she is nothing but a mere illegitimate child.” “A child from a hostess, or is it a prostitute?” “What a shame. If I were, she, I will never leave my room for the rest of my life.” The rumors, the mocking, and the blame that society branded her for her entire life. The daughter of a prostitute who was left at the doorstep of her father who never accepted her. Her life is all along a rejection, and nothing more but a tool for the sake of her so-called family’s wealth.  “Reputation? Do we still have such if our name is already tainted by a bastard daughter of yours?” “Do not blame me for her existence. She is already been born and I couldn’t throw her away just like that. News and rumors will spread, and those kinds of words will put our family name down. And I believe, you do not want that, aren’t you?” “Very well. But do not stop me for the things that I will do to that child. For she deserves nothing from this family, and not at least one.” Words that she knew way before. Her innocent childhood years are filled with nothing but the cold room that was spared for her by the maids of her father’s mansion. Eating food that the maids are given. Wasn’t allowed once to dine with the rest of the family, nor she is allowed to call her biological father, father.  “Know your place and be careful of your actions. In this house and this world, you are nothing, but a nuisance.” Her father’s teaching, no, his mockery for his fault that is the result is her. The image of his stupidity and lust. The child that he never wants and desired, yet the one that he used to save his face.  “You will marry, Chairman Andador.” “The chairman? But-but he is an old man and thrice my age.” “Did I ask for your opinion or your approval? I am telling you this for you to be prepared for your wedding.” “I hate this. I hate my life.” She closes her eyes and cried. All numb from the cold and the piercing heavy drops of the rain while she still ran away from everything.  “I just wanted to be happy. But that thing is a distant dream for me, so, I only wanted now is one thing. To be free and away from everything of my past.” The resolution that she comes up with at the end. The day that she runs away from her wedding. This night when she doesn’t care her feet hurt and bleed from the distance she runs away and hopes for good. The wedding dress that she rips and is now covered with dirt is her testament. The life she wanted is the freedom that she should have sought for herself in the beginning.  “Find her!” Shaken and on edge, pumping her blood with adrenaline that she never had before. Hearing the scream and the wheels that shriek and looking for her. The chase and her tired self, yet she couldn’t yield nor give up. For if she did, she will be facing the nightmare that she couldn’t escape anymore for the second time.  “Please, just someone. Someone, help me!” The prayer that she once gives up now is once more hoping. The desperation that she felt and the entire island that she was brought unconscious, forced into the damn wedding dress and now she is running without knowing where to go and where this place is.  “Someone please helps me. I’ll do everything, I will exchange my soul just take me out of this hellish place. Anyone, please!” The lightning strikes and the thunder rumbles. So loud and somewhat so close that startled her. Tripping her right foot from a protruding root of a big oak tree. Stumbling face-first to the muddy ground that was caused by the storm.  She coughs and catches her breath, while the rain washes the dirt onto her face. Her ankle is injured and her shoe is nowhere to be found in the dark forest that she’s been running from. The lightning strikes and the thunder rumbles, in an interval of a few seconds, and perfectly when.  “Amusing.” Taken aback and looking up at the biggest oak tree that she had ever seen in her life. Natalia’s eyes widen in fear and surprise. Finding a man sitting comfortably on the thickest and widest branch of the tree. Unaffected by the storm and without a bit of water to his red suit and tie.  “Who are you?” “Who am I? Shouldn’t you know the answer to that? You called me, you seek for me, didn’t you?” A man whose eyes are a mix of an auburn red of autumn and the dusk of dawn. Hair that is as black as the night, physic that is toned and in perfection that is somewhat taken out from a description of a god.  Natalia’s fear of being caught and taken back is now changed by the fear of the look and smile of the most handsome man she had ever seen. A man that resembles a demon in her eyes.  “You ask for me, you wanted me. Now, I am here to take you away.” “Take me away?” She asks, now trembling in fear from the predicament that she is half thinking to be her escape, yet might be worse than the one that she is running away from.  “I see that you didn’t remember me. You have forgotten.” “Who are you? Did we meet, just---” Her thoughts are cut as a painful pain hits her mind and heart. Screaming with the scene that happened that night. Her dignity that was stolen, no, sold, and the man who took it is now in front of her. “Now, I am here to take my bride with me. Natalia Hererra.” He leaps down, shielding her from the storm in some kind of light that was there yet isn’t visible enough. He then crouches down, took her hand, and gently. Kissing it with the cold and shiver that she felt out from his skin. With the smile that she remembers, Natalia calls his name. “Nikolas. Nikolas Azazel.”
