Jenna and John were both skilled detectives, but they were no match for Thomas. He was quick and agile, and his movements were calculated. Every time Jenna thought she had him cornered, he would slip away, leaving her and John panting and desperate.
As Jenna was about to make a move towards him, Thomas suddenly stopped. His eyes softened, and he looked at her with something that Jenna couldn't quite place.
'Please, Jenna. Stop chasing me. You don't know what you're getting yourself into,' he said, his voice pleading.
Jenna was taken aback by his sudden change in demeanor. She lowered her gun, her mind trying to make sense of everything.
'What do you mean? Why did you kill those women?' she asked, her voice shaking.
Thomas sighed and looked at John, who was also confused by his behavior.
'John, can I have a moment alone with Jenna, please?' Thomas said, his eyes never leaving Jenna's.
John hesitated for a moment before nodding and stepping back. Jenna watched as John left the room, leaving her alone with Thomas.
'Jenna, I didn't kill those women. I know it's hard to believe, but I loved them. I would never hurt them,' Thomas said, his voice filled with emotion.
Jenna couldn't believe what she was hearing. If Thomas didn't kill those women, then who did?
'Then why did you have their bodies in your possession? And why did you run when we tried to question you?' Jenna asked, her voice accusatory.
'I was scared, Jenna. Scared that you wouldn't believe me. You see, I know who killed those women, and I was trying to protect them,' he said, his eyes pleading with her to believe him.
