Alisa carefully handed Brekan the bag of food we got for him. He grinned ear to ear causing Alisa to laugh. I helped buckle her in before I slumped into the front seat. He looked concerned but didn’t push it.
“So where are my 2 second favorite ladies going?” Brekan asked gently though chewing.
“Eeww, Brekan where are your manners. Your with two ladies.” Alisa squealed in the back causing me to chuckle. Brekan smiled happily at that as he swallowed.
“Well of course where are my manners.” Brekan spoke with a cheeky smile. He then took another bite. I chuckled as I buckled myself in.
“Pub 24th street.” I spoke with a sigh. He tensed up as he stopped chewing. “Oliver has a tab there that needs to be paid.”
“Molly you shouldnt have to pay for that.” Brekan spoke as he pulled out of the parking lot.
“It was his ability to relax. Yes definitely cost me more but how could I say no. He has been so great with me. He has done so much for me. How can I not do this.” I told him with a smile. The frown on his face proved he was part of the whole thing. “Don’t blame yourself. It’s been a trying year.”
“He is working now get him to pay it.” Brekan spoke annoyed. I just smiled at him.
“I will ask for the money from his paycheck.” I told him with a smile. He nodded as he pulled onto the highway. He passed Alisa his phone so she could play anything she wanted as he just grumbled to himself as he ate breakfast. My concentration was out the window trying to figure out what to do about Oliver. He had changed so much that he was almost a different Oli then when I was in the hospital.
“Penny for your thoughts.” Brekan spoke pulling my attention away from my thoughts.
“Is it just me or has there been a change in Oliver?” I asked knowing he was the best person to ask the question to.
“I think he is working to much.” Brekan spoke.
“He comes home so late. I hope he isn’t going to work himself like me.” I spoke trying to not think of it.
“Na, he is just getting some over time under his belt to get you guys ahead.” Brekan spoke with a smile. We pulled up to the pub a few minutes after that. I got out a little worried but calmed down when Brekan stepped out with me. He handed his keys to Alisa and had the windows down. As we shut the doors I heard the gentle click of the locks. He pointed me in as he followed. The pub was packed with people. Most of them drunk already. I was not liking it and wanted out but Brekan was right there with an arm around my shoulder for comfort.
It took us no time at all to pay as the owner was really nice. He even sent one of his security guards out to keep an eye on Alisa as we paid. When everything went through he had another guard escort us out. This man was good. Anyone that tried to touch me on the way out he blocked. It was a nice feeling and I didn’t feel so worried about being here.
Brekan got my door and as he got in he chuckled. Alisa was playing ‘I got a dream' from the move tangled. I had to laugh with Brekan as what had just happened and where we where coming out of.
“Could you stop at the office. I would Like to see if Mrs Mariline has any work for me.” I asked gently knowing we probably will be going by it.
“Can’t Oliver bring it home?”
“I don’t want to burden him anymore then I have already.” I told him with a fake smile. I knew he probably seen right through it but he did say anything. He stayed in the car with Alisa as I went in.
“Come in.” Mrs Mariln said after I knocked. I pushed the door open and she was so happy to see me again.
“Good Evening Maam, thought I would check in and see how things where going.” I spoke gently.
“You my girl will not be aloud to have a day off.” She spoke all flustered. I raced over to find out why. When I saw the issue I quickly fixed it. She smiled happily before handing me a stack of things. I just smiled as she also handed me an envelope. She just smiled as she motioned I was okay to leave. I left staring at the envelope.
“Looks like someone has home work.” Brekan chuckled as did Alisa. “With that much work means brother Brekan is ordering food in.”
“You don’t have to do that.” I spoke looking at him.
“Non sense.” He said all proud as we drove back to the house. Callista was there already waiting in her car. She smiled happily at Brekan before helping me with the paper work.
“We are enjoying our night and then you can work on the work.” Brekan spoke as he helped Callista with the food from her car. Took them a bit to set up allowing me to sort out some of the paper work. I did the stuff needing immediate attention leaving the rest till later.
“Come on workaholic, time for some supper.” Callista spoke as she dragged me from my seat into the living room. It was wings, pizza, cheese garlic break and ceaser salad. There was a movie going from Netflix and I laughed when it was Moana. I always wanted to watch it with Alisa but never got time to.
The evening was a blessing needed. I had never had so much fun. Callista had to take poor Alisa to bed for me as Brekan and I got dishes going. I pulled out lasagna for Oliver and it was cooking in the oven. I forgot I had some in the deep freeze premade. It was just encase we needed something quick one night.
“Alright Alisa is in bed, Oliver’s supper is on the table and clean up is done.” Callista smiled happily.
“You guys are the greatest. Tonight was so much fun. Head home now and get some sleep. Maybe we can meet at the mall tomorrow. Alisa needs a few things and I could use the walking around.” I told them with a smile. I had just changed into my pajamas and was about to head into the office to work. I thought they had gone home.
“Anything for you sis. We will be here to pick you up at 10.” Brekan spoke hugging me tight before him and Callista left. I just smiled as I got to work. I had a lot to finish. By the time I had finished it was 2 in the morning. I cleaned up and quickly warmed up the lasagna. Oliver had to be home soon. I plated it and sat at the table waiting for him. I wanted to make sure he got it and to let him know his tab was paid. I think I was more tired then I though because it wasn’t long before I was out.
Arms wrapped around me as they lifted me up and to my room. They placed me on my bed as they tucked me in. Placing a kiss on my forehead I smiled happily. It had to be Oliver. He couldn’t be mad at me after the sandwich I made him. It was our sorry sandwich.
Oliver’s scream woke me up after that as I also heard Alisa screaming. I jumped out of bed and raced down the stairs to her room. Entering my magic shot to life. I quickly covered her with a shield before Oliver could bring his hand down on her. As he did the shield sent him flying. I raced over to my baby sis and scooped her up. I turned to Oliver worried.
“Molly, he was hurting me.” Alisa cried into my ear. Oliver stood up from where he had fallen. The wall was damaged causing me to know it will have to be fixed.
“Its okay Alisa.” I said getting her to the door. “Run to my room and lock the door. Don’t open it for anyone but the secret word.”
She nodded as she raced away. I quickly allowed my magic to change my appearance before Oliver laid eyes on me. He came at me staggered and I knew something was wrong. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the bed. He was grabbing so hard I was afraid he broke Alisa's. I will have to check that after this.
“Oliver stop your hurting me.” I cried in Alisa's voice.
“Shut up. You wine all day being so close to Molly has made you weak. She is no good for you. You will be at my side when I am home and we will make you strong. Your sister is a conniving little witch. She hides so much and lies non stop.” His voice was different. But why? And all this stuff he was saying about me. What has gotten into him.
“Oliver.” I cried once more but his grip just got tighter. I was thrown against a wall as he staggered back. I quickly got up and raced out of the room but he was close in toe. As he got me he pinned me to the wall, hand around my neck. I had to stop this I had to do something. I grabbed his hand and he screamed in pain as I was dropped to the floor. My body becoming me as I just lay on the floor watching him wither in pain. I placed all my love into the magic that I pushed through him from my hands. If his demon had taken over it will help Oliver get control once again. If the demon has done a full take over I am hooped but hopefully not.
His body soon lay still on the floor. I carefully got up and crawled over to him. I was exhausted now myself but I had to care for him. Lifting us to our feet I dragged him to bed where I removed his tie, jacket, shoes and socks. With the little bit of magic I had I turned what was left on him to pajamas before tucking him in and kissing his cheek just like mom. I left the room and collapsed. I was to tired to move as I tried to crawl to my room. Alisa must have felt it safe as it was quiet because she was at my side crying. Between the two of us we made it to her room where we fell asleep on the floor.
I woke up the next morning to my phone alarm. I quickly shut it off before lifting Alisa to her bed. I checked her arm over before making breakfast. I made pancakes and bacon with scrambled eggs. I plates us all a plate and had it on the table before Alisa's screamed filled the house. I raced to her room and held her tight as she cried in fear.
“Easy sis, everything is okay.” I gently spoke as I held her and rocked her. “it was a bad dream.”
“Molly, what is wrong with Oliver.” She cried unhappy.
“He is just having a bad day. That’s all sweet heart. Just you wait he will be back with us before you know it.” I told her praying what I did worked. It wont be a permanent solution but it should help.
“Are we still going out?” She asked. I nodded with a smile as I led her to the table for breakfast. Oliver was there already eating. Alisa stiffened beside me. I got her seated across from him before I sat beside her to eat.
“Alisa and I are going out shopping with Brekan and Callista today.” I spoke gently so he knew where we would be.
“Whatever.” He said chewing.
“Your tab has been paid at the bar.” I spoke again as I took a bite of food.
“I bet with the stored up money you have.” He snickered. I looked at him a little off. What was he talking about. If this was the demon talking I will have to remember everything said. It will help to fight him off if ever needed. Mom told me when I was young that to fight a demon you had to find out why he was attached to the source. From the sound of it , it’s something to do with money and sorting it.
“I had to use the credit card.” I told him. “The one I have been working to pay off after everyone’s school fees.”
“Oh.” He spoke a little conflicted. If I have to explain ever once of money to him that I spend for him to fight the demon I will.
“Yes, you racked up quite a bill. I will have to work a few extra hours for a while so no extra special food.” I told him gently.
“Do whatever. I have my own money.” He said finishing his food and leaving. I knew this would happen. I will have to go back sooner then I really thought I should.
“Why is he like this?” Alisa asked as she played with her food.
“I will explain it to you when you’re a little older. Eat for I fear this will be the last outing we get for a while.” I told her gently as I began to eat trying to encourage her as well. She ate the two pancakes and four pieces of bacon with ease. I barely made it through one and a piece of bacon.
“Here, seeing how you had to pay for my tab. I should help out on the shopping trip.” Oliver said placing some Bill’s on the table before walking out. I looked at it and it wasn’t no more the 50 dollars. I hope he isn’t running a tab somewhere. I quickly cleaned up breakfast and we got dresses.
“Where are my sisters at.” Brekan cried through the house as I was just leaving my room. Alisa should be ready to. “There’s the youngest.”
“Brekan.” Alisa squealed. He must have tickled her. I entered the kitchen and smiled at them. He came over and looked at my neck. s**t I forgot to look to see if the mark’s are there.
“Molly what happened.” He demanded.
“I slept wrong.” I told him pulling out a scarf and putting it around my neck. He wasn’t happy about it. He didn’t press the mater as I covered it with a simple scarf. I knew he was thinking about it though and that’s what worried me. Anyone else trying to get at Oliver will cause his demon to act up more.
“Come, we have to pick Callista up on the way.” Brekan spoke as he held me close. I smiled happily to him as he led us out the door and locked up for me. I sat in the back with Alisa allowing Callista to jump in the front seat with Brekan. They shared a beautiful love peck causing Alisa to giggle. Brekan winked at her as Callista blushed. I think she forgot we where in the back.
Shopping was amazing. I picked up a bunch of things Alisa needed and a few things I knew Oliver was out of. I picked up an item or two for myself due to it being a need. Brekan kept pushing me to buy more but I couldn’t. I just couldn’t spend money like that right now. I have a credit card to pay off.
He dropped us off at home after we had a supper out which he paid for. Says he deserved to treat his three favorite women. It was nice to eat at a restaurant and enjoy it. I knew it was something I shouldn’t get use to. This was something we would not be able to do much.
“Alisa head to your room with your stuff.” I spoke gently before we entered the house. She nodded as she raced to her bedroom the moment I opened the door. Oliver was there and he stood up as we entered. He tried to grab Alisa but with magic I stopped him.
“Your walking on thin ice.” He growled.
“I will not let you hurt this family.” I said back to him as I laid his stuff on the table with the 50 dollar bill. “I used my credit Card.”
“We are not done.” He said grabbing my arm. I snapped it away from him.
“I am not speaking with the demon. If you wish to give Oliver back then I will speak to him.” I said strong though this was hurting me more then anyone. “You are not my brother.”
“You will never get him back.” He chuckled.
“Why because you found an envelope of money in my purse when I was in hospital. You assumed that I hold money from you all. Did you ever think once where all the money went. No because if you had know then we wouldn’t have been without Netflix when I got back. I wouldn’t have had thousands of calls from people looking for it. I bet you don’t even know where half my paycheque now goes. All you care about is that I ‘Lied to you’.” I snapped at him. He looked taken aback by this. “Ask marilyn tomorrow and she will tell you where all my money has been going while you go and drink your money away.”
“You have no right.” He said smacking my hard. I hit the ground just as hard as tears came. He began to shake as I knew Oliver was trying to get free of him. I got up and walked to my room where I quickly changed and walked down to Alisa's. I wasn’t letting him in there no matter whom he was.
“Sleep over.” Alisa said as she was putting her stuff away. I smiled happily at her as I helped her before we got her ready for bed and snuggled in.
Alisa and I where up early the next day. She was coming to work with me as I couldn’t ask Callista on such short notice to watch her. I gather my stuff for work as she gathered some stuff that would keep her busy while I was working. I made breakfast for Oliver before we left. I stopped at Tim’s and bought us breakfast before we made it over to the office. I really hate the bus system. I will really have to look into another car.
“molly.” Marilyn spoke shocked.
“Hi mama.” I smiled as we walked up to her.
“You should be resting.” She spoke worried.
“Its about time I get to work ma’am. I am way to board at home. I do apologise, I could get a babysitter.” I spoke as I motioned Alisa to step in front of me. “This is my baby sister Alisa.”
“Aren’t you just adorable.” Marilyn spoke as her face lit up. “Come I show you your office.”
“I get an office.” I spoke a little shocked.
“Well don’t get to excited.” Marilyn spoke as she opened the door to a messy office. “You are my event organizer and planner. As you can see the last one wasn’t very neat.”
“Don’t worry ma’am I will have this cleaned up in no time.” I told her with a smile.
“I know you will. Now paper work of importance and emails will come through on the computer. So just like you working at home it will be the same here.” She smiled happily. “The only thing is I get to see your smiling face more often now and I can pop in for a talk every now and again. Got to keep our minds fresh.”
“Absolutely ma’am.” I smiled happily.
“And don’t worry Molly. Alisa is free to come. Between your office and Oliver’s both of you will be able to keep an eye on her. Plus she looked old enough to look after herself but if needed she can come to my office.” Marilyn spoke. “Don’t need to pay a babysitter if you don’t need to. My grand kids come to work with me sometimes. Bet they will get along nicely.”
“Thank you miss. I love to be close to my siblings.” Alisa smiled as she hugged her. I smiled with her happy that I can have her close. We both got to work and organized the office. I made a list of stuff we needed to grab for better organisation. By noon we where up and going. I had a little bit of work to do but I was completely exhausted. Alisa suggested we eat something so we sat and ate our lunch.
“Here.” Oliver said as he harshly handed me some papers. I took them from him and placed them on my desk before I went back to eating. “They need to be done.”
“I will get them first the moment I am done my lunch.” I gently told him as I placed the last bite in my mouth. He threw his hands up and stormed off.
“Hey New girl. How’s it going.” A new voice spoke at the door. I smiled at him as I got up and shock his hand. “this is beautiful. How ever did you manage it.”
“Little bit of elbow grease.” Alisa smiled happily causing us to giggle.
“Marilyn wanted me to tell you meeting in 10. There was also a list of things you needed.” He spoke holding up hand. I raced over for the list and he smiled. “I’ll have them back before the meeting is over.”
“Thank you…”
“Oh how rude of me. Scott.” He said.
“Molly.” I spoke as he left. I quickly cleaned up my lunch stuff and straitened myself up. I grabbed the laptop that had most of the stuff in have worked on and a notebook. “you going to be okay in here by yourself?”
“Yep. I’m going to draw the tree outside your window.” She smiled as she cleaned up her stuff and grabbed a wipe out of her bag to clean her hands. I smiled happily as she locked the door once I was out. She knew Scott would be back and I knew she wouldn’t open it for anyone else. Maybe Oliver if she wasn’t afraid of him. I stepped towards the board room where I assumed they where having the meeting. Marilyn smiled brightly when I got there. She patted the chair beside her. A few others where there trying to set up a projector. I laid my stuff down and went over and helped them. It was set up in seconds which signaled everyone else to enter the room. We all took our seats. I was so grateful I didn’t have to speak anything. I just listened and took notes. Oliver was there stating his issues as well as the production side and then not to mention everyone else inside the production line. Man I tell you these people have more issues then a child not getting ice cream.
“Production needs to pick up for profit to pick up.” Oliver stated.
“We are doing our best.” The production guy said. I think his name was Ryan.
“Its not enough.” Oliver demanded. I rose from where I was sitting and walked up to the slide. I looked at it for a moment before looking at Marilyn. She was grinning ear to ear because she knew my head was spinning.
“Could I see the production charts.” I asked gently. Marilyn looked at Ryan who got up and clicked a few things on the computer. I studied that chart. “There’s your problem.”
“What problem?” Ryan asked confused.
“We need production to go quicker but it’s not. Looking at these charts your running your staff 8 hours doing all three. Split them up and rotate them or give them an option on what they want to do.” I spoke gently. He still looked confused. “when you ask someone to do one job all day are they not going to tire of that or feel over welled. That’s just like me telling you Ryan start to finish you are going to pay one employee before you go to the next.”
“Well that’s a complete waste of time and I would get board.” Ryan said. The light went on right after that. “Oh I see.”
“Do you?” Marilyn asked. “I have only been asking you to improve your staff for months.”
“I thought I did.” Ryan said hanging his head.
“I bet you will also stop losing workers because they wont feel so warn out.” I told him with a smile. Oliver was frowning at me but I kept my eyes away.
“Done. Let’s meet next week and we will see how things turned out.” Marilyn spoke as she motioned for me to follow. I nodded happily as I gathered my things and followed her to my office where we gathered Alisa and then to her office we went. “Man girl, you owned that meeting.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be that’s what I need to see. You are bettering my company. No need for apologise, now what does my schedule look like tomorrow.” She asked with a smile. I quickly pulled up her schedule and we discussed it. She wanted me to be at her side but I wasn’t quite ready for all that so she decided to take Scott. This made me happy as me and Alisa went back to the office and I started working out new paperwork and dates.
“Molly, I’m hungry can we go home now?” Alisa asked gently. I smiled happily as I cleaned up my paperwork, got a few things set for tomorrow when I came back and then grabbed our stuff. She happily held my hand as we walked out of work.
“Oliver is done for the day I’m sure he would be happy to take you home.” Mrs Marlyin spoke as she came up to me. I didn’t realise her car was parked by the bus stop. Oliver was at the car waiting for us. I nodded as we walked over. He didn’t say anything as he got in the car. I buckled Alisa in before I got in the passenger seat. Marilyn smiled as she got in her own car watching us drive away.
“I will be back later.” Oliver said as he stopped outside of the house. I nodded gently to him as I got Alisa out before he drove away. I sighed gently as we went into the house.
“What are we going to do tonight?” Alisa asked as she put her bag on her chair ready for tomorrow. I smiled as I looked in the fridge for what we had to make.
“I don’t know sweet pea.”
“Taco's?” Alisa asked as she pulled out the shells. I smiled as she placed the box on the table and helped me gather the things needed. I was cooking the meat while she put the rest on the table. We sat down and enjoyed the tacos before we went to bed. I stayed up for a bit praying Oliver was okay and would be back soon.
I prepared lunch for us and what I could of breakfast waiting for him
