week five + Five

3 weeks earlier.

Elena is looking for the Admin Building, to be able to accommodate all freshmen and avoid overcrowding. The school decided to assign different dates to different courses to attend their orientation. That day was Elena’s department turn. Regular classes will start few days from now.

Since Elena always avoids crowds she tends to stay always near the door. She justifies it that staying near the door is the fastest way to leave any gathering. Well who cannot agree more?

Abby and Kate are high school friends, when they found out that they will be attending the same school and will be taking up the same course they decided to enroll in together. They name it as BF Goals. Abby and Kate are cheerful ladies they can gossip non-stop from politics to fashion down to who's selling the cutest pen and notebook stationery store. City Y has few stationery stores, some of the stores even offer customization of the notebooks and paper even its color. It’s a haven for craft lovers. The store owner is very familiar with them two due to their addiction to collecting cute pens and notebooks. So if there is a new model released they are one of the kids who got it first.

Emma with her shoulder length hair with a streak of purple and blue same with Elena who loves dark colors is seen with her cute dark tops and jeans.

Elena was standing near the door with her purple fountain pen and purple notebook. Her mom gave her the pen saying that good pens will prevent her hand from injury. She was confused how a pen can cause injury. Her mom patiently explains to her that college needs a lot of writing hence the need for a good pen. She still cannot grasp the idea since fountain pens are tedious; the constant need of re-fill is not like her. But still since it's just orientation day she brings it with her to use for registration. She just thinks that it will be her “lucky pen.”

While the pen was dangling in her hand, Kate looked at her and screamed, “Oh my god! Is that the new Metropolitan Pen? Abby looks like it’s even purple!” Kate’s joy to see the pen was so contagious.

“Hi I‘m Abby and this loud one is Kate. Don’t mind her craziness; we were waiting for that pen for a few weeks now. We heard it’s not yet to be released soon. It’s cool to see it in real shape. Which store did you manage to get it from?”

“Elena”, as she extends her hands to them. “I’m not sure my mom gave it to me as a gift. I'm flabbergasted that this pen is a hype.”

“Oh no girl! That pen is like an ice-cream in a hot summer. Like an ice in a coke. It will make any ugly penmanship like a typewritten French Script”, describes Kate. “Can I see it pretty please?”

Elena hands the pen over to Kate smiling, while Kate squeals like a bird. She realized that Kate and her mom can be BFFs, their love on the pens are so alike.

Emma in a nearby chair saw Kate’s theatrical attitude and went over to them. The pen caught her attention too since it is purple. “Hi I’m Elena! Are you guys taking this course too?” Emma is a confident girl. She is not shy in introducing herself especially if something caught her attention.

“Yes, I'm Abby, this is Kate and Elena.”

“Hi!” Each one introduces themselves.

After the orientation the four girls decided to hang out and get some milk tea. They talked about Elena’s pen and Emma’s purple hair being meant to be together. Kate’s non-stop talking makes all three girls comfortable with each other. They found out that they are in the same block and section. Since all of them are freshmen they agreed to stay together.

The milk tea session definitely cemented their new found friendship.
