And the minute she felt some warmth seep in her skin she stopped struggling, she just stayed in place, relishing the warmth from his body, how could someone be so warm?,and then there was this other thing that made her quit the struggle,it was the comfort, she had never known any man apart from her father her entire life and she didn't know if it was common to feel this comfortable but with the books she had read ,she would guess that it wasn't common and she would do well to herself by keeping away from him but how possible was that when she was to be with him on the same bed every single night, they might share a bed for all she cared but from every bit of the next morning till the end of the day,she would make sure not to cross his path, she would find a way to get out of this even if it meant running away, she was knocked out her thoughts by deep throaty chuckle, what was wrong this time?
"What is so funny?"she asked not caring how her voice sounded.
"You lost, princess."she heard him say then she opened her eyes. He was smiling, this insensitive man!,when had she turned to his object of amusement?
"This is not a game and it is definitely not funny."she said.
"It is what ever I say it is, princess,do well to understand that."
"You cannot order-"
"Sleep Cathrianna."he said shutting her up immediately.
Oh! this is not the end,he couldn't just hush her and get away with it,she thought as she closed her eyes and drifted in a land of her own.
Ivor stayed awake,he started into her face for as long as he lay and he didn't feel tired of it,she was like a goddess, she had this magic about her and she always managed to make him smile for the most crazy things and she was the only on he knew that didn't seem to please him at all, well she and some others but they were barely a hand full, she snuggled into him searching for more warmth and he closed his eyes trying to block out the sensation of her body on his, damned woman!,she was making it hard for him to remain in control,it might have been a bad idea for him to have cuddled her as he was bearing the brunt of it now but he didn't regret it and he would make sure that she was always close by.
She felt so relaxed as she woke up the next morning, she snuggled deeper into what ever was giving her warmth but stopped halfway when she heard the deep intake of breath, then it hit her,she tried to analyze her current situation, she was in bed with a man she barely knew not just in bed but also in his arms and he was bare chested and their legs were tangled together, then she looked up at him to find him already staring at her ,her eyes widened as she placed her palm on his chest and pushed away from him to only land on the floor once again.
"Ouch!"she muttered rubbing her buns, that was more painful than it was yesterday, she looked back at him as she sent him a hard glare and he smiled.
"That is a sight I can get used to."he said standing up from bed to go to his wardrobe ,he took out his riding habit,he needed to cool off some steam, she turned away from him immediately, couldn't he be a little civil, how did she even get herself into this?, she stood dusting off her night dress then, she went into the bathroom.
And again, she ate her breakfast alone, she would have to get used to it,she spent her morning in the library, reading books, she was a very fast reader so she was done with two books even before afternoon, she went to the shelf in search of the third book for the day,she climbed the ladder to search the upper shelves, then she saw something,it looked like the thick back cover of a book because of the inscriptions on the book but in truth it felt wooden to the touch, she grabbed it and gently pulled it out from the shelf ,it was a box?,stepped down carefully from the ladder she dropped it down on the floor right beside the table, she had a feeling that it wasn't something people knew about, she took the book and went behind a shelf to keep herself hidden, she squatted with the book on her hand, she tried to open it but there wasn't a latch or a clue on how it would be opened, just funny looking inscriptions carved into the side of the box ,she used her finger to trace the words as she pronounced.
"Eht thgir seye sah nees dna eht thgir sdnah llahs nepo."and she heard a click by the side.
"Oh!"she muttered,it was open, she wondered where she touched to have gotten it open, she raised the lid of the box and she saw a book inside it, it looked like a journal an old one,she took it out and she opened the first page and read.
Dear Madeline, life in the the palace isn't as bad as you thought it would be, it's quiet pleasant, the king is a very generous and kind hearted man,he might be very strict with his preferences but it is better than what I have been through.
I wish you were here with me,I wish we could have ran away together,I wish we weren't so different, then maybe it would have been a better story for us,I wish you don't have to stay in hiding .
I know you wouldn't get this letter but I would always write to you, for these are the words from my heart.
Your's truly,
Jacob.
She flipped through the pages as they were all letters to the love of his heart and wasn't likely the reason for the locking of the book, she stopped in a random and read,
Dear Madeline,I have been promoted from my task as a stable boy to being a footman,it isn't as easy as it looks,I have to follow his majesty everywhere and I have noticed that he goes into to village in peasants dressing to meet a woman,I think she is of my kind but I am not so sure.
His majesty knows not what I am yet, only a hand few does and I have brothers of my kind here as well,we would keep our secrets safe,I have to be gone now as I sense the butler may need my assistance.
Your's truly,
Jacob.
And she flipped to the next page.
