Their little secret

Tears welled up in her eyes again, now that she was with him she couldn't help herself.

"I would be getting married." she said as tears trailed down her cheeks, a scowl etched his face as he watched the tears fall from her eyes,he stayed quiet for a while before he raised his hand to clean her tears.

"When is this?"he finally asked.

"Perhaps in a week or two I'm not completely sure." she said a little more than worried.

"To whom?"he asked again.

"The Lord of Nightfalls." she answered for him to narrow his eyes but he didn't say anything further she spoke up,

"Let's run away."

Gracious!,if this wasn't a serious matter he would have chuckled at how selfish she was being at this moment.

"You shouldn't think such things, milady and if you leave so abruptly, think of what could happen to your father and your sisters, the people would blame him for not being able to get you a suitable husband earlier."he said calmly.

"Aren't you good enough?" she asked looking hopefully at him,they both knew the answer to that question.

He smiled,"that is not the point, milady." then his face turned serious.

"You can not run away from your problems as they would surely come after you, you have a responsibility as the crown princess, think on how this would affect your father and your sisters."he said to have her sigh and look down at her feet, she really didn't think it through.

"We would be leaving for Nightfalls tomorrow." she said as it was already midnight.

He stepped closer to her as he kissed her forehead while she closed her eyes, she would miss him.

"Beatrice,"she heard him call her name,he rarely ever spoke her name but the very few times he did it stroke a chord in her heart. She hummed in approval as he caressed her face and her eyes fluttered open.

"I love you."he said meaning every bit of it.

"I love you too."she said as a small smile touched her lips.

"I would be waiting for you."he said, she furrowed her brows , what did he mean?

She headed back into the bedroom as careful as she left, she opened the door and stepped in to find Tina and Thrianna sitting at the edge of the bed seeming like they were waiting for something, they had already lighted more candles.

Ignoring them she took off her cloak and placed it on the stand.

"We saw you ,Trice." Thrianna said. Trice paused then she turned to look at them in panick.

"You followed me?,why would you do that?" she said with obvious fear in her voice as she pressed two fingers to her temple.

"Why wouldn't we,I mean you wake up by this time of the night and just leave,I for one found it very odd so I told Tina , and we followed you." Thrianna retorted.

Of course it was Thrianna, she was too damned observant for her own good.

"For how long?"Tina asked.

"A year."she said placing her hand to the back of her neck.

She kept this for a whole year ?!!

"Don't tell father."she said with a pleading voice.

"What!?" Tina exclaimed.

"You have to promise me you wouldn't tell mother or father." she said moving towards them.

"But you love someone else, you shouldn't be forced to-,"Trice cut through her words as she sat been them.

"Promise me Tina."

She sighed,"ok,I promise."

"Thria?" She said hopefully looking at her.

"I promise." she said without hesitation,there were secrets of her own she trusted them with. Thrianna closed her eyes and just as she opened it there was a glow.

"Thank-," 

"Father is coming." Thrianna said cutting her off as they immediately lay in place with the blankets barely covering their bodies and just as they were finally in place the door creaked open.

Fredrick had been taking care of some paperwork,he had not slept because he had alot to do before the trip to Nightfalls but if he were being very truthful with himself part of his reason for his sleeplessness was his daughters, chose not to disturb them but he must see them before he would go to sleep tonight,he held a lantern in his hand as he made his way towards their room.

He guessed that they would be asleep by this time so he went in without knocking in other not to wake them up,he dropped the lantern beside the door before he went to their bed,he sat on it's edge.

If only they knew how much pressure he was shouldering, she would be getting married sooner or later anyways,why not sooner?, no matter how much she would try to neglect the issue of marriage,it would most definitely rear it's head back in front of her so in a different view he was doing her a favour, even if he knew he was giving away his kingdom by doing this, what choice did he have?, and this decision would save lives, it was obvious that the lord of Nightfalls would choose Beatrice so he didn't have to worry about Tina and Thrianna but he feared for Trice,he feared that she wouldn't be able to find happiness after this but this was the sacrifice he had to make to save his people,he could only hope she would find the happiness he found in laurel despite their planned marriage and wish she would understand his actions.

He smoothened her hair and placed a peck on their foreheads ,he tugged on their blanket to cover them properly, blowing off some candles before he left the room with his lantern.When they were sure he had gone far enough they sat up as Trice and Tina looked at Thrianna with greatful eyes,they didn't know how she was always able to do that, but they were happy she did cause it always worked in their favour.

 "Thank you."Trice finally found her voice.

"Anytime."Thrianna replied with a small smile on her face.
