The Ball

Jameson's pov:

We were in this little coffee shop just out side of Alpha Richards pack territory. It was packed in there . I guess that's what happens when essentially you are the daughter of two Alpha's hosting one event . Luna Bailey sent me an invite to the ball , however there has been bad blood between my pack and the blood moon pack for several decades, way before I stepped up as the Alpha. Our pack the blue moon lake pack has been at a stand off with the blood moon pack for as long as I can remember. I would like to end this mindless tension between our packs , to be honest I don't even know why it exist. I have a pretty large number of unmated wolves in my pack and I thought this the perfect opportunity to set the record straight and wipe the slate clean with Alpha Richards. I have not found a mate but I also haven't been looking , my main concern now is the pack and being the leader they need me to be . I have a pretty gruesome reputation. Most of the things said about me are true but all actions have been in the best interest of my pack .

As I am talking with a few of my betas I got a whiff of that tell tell scent of a rotting vampire.

what the hell would a vamp be doing this close to two territories alone with this many wolves in the area ?

Before I could wonder any longer it hit me . It was like nothing I've ever smelt before . Her scent was sweet like fresh peaches on a summer day , light and crisp yet irresistibly sweet. "MINE" my wolf Axel growled. Mate we found our mate . Before I could find where her scent was coming from it disappeared . Damn it why did there have to be so many people in this place .

My right hand man Tucker noticed what was happing.

"Damn boss , I never thought you'd find your mate with that heart of steal "

"Shut up Tucker , she's vanished into thin air , I only came to this s**t to support our pack members and to hopefully hash out a treaty with Richards. Now what the f**k am I supposed to do."

" Man this place is packed , she's probably going to be at the ball, just stick to the plan and maybe we can find her there ."

"Yeah, your right we need this treaty. "

Rylan's Pov:

What the hell was that about? Raven has never acted like that before. That Jake dude is sketchy as hell , how did he know that she was about to run out like that . Did she just break up with me ? Against everything Rylan send the strange man a message . " Jake ? it's Rylan . I met you a few hours ago at the coffee shop . how did you know that Raven was going to end things ? This is crazy. I need answers ."

" Hello Rylan, It seems that your little princess has a few secrets to hide . If you want answers , show up to her party tonight . I think you will see things more clearly "

I have never been inside the walls of her father's gated community before , but at this point I don't care what her family thinks of me. It can't end like this between us. This morning I was planning a life with her , in the blink of an eye she runs out on me . No this isn't how it ends .

Jameson's Pov:

After returning to Luna Bailey's pack house where my pack and I are staying for the next few days all I can think about is how I am going to find my mate. Luna Bailey is a kind and generous leader . She shares a daughter with a Alpha Richards . I believe her daughter's name is Raven . I have to admit the picture Luna Bailey has hanging in the pack house show a beautiful brown eyed girl. I find myself staring at the large family portrait in the main living area .

" Keep staring boss and your going to drawl the attention of the rest of the wolves in here .Hell man maybe she's your mate " Damn Tucker sure knows how to get under my skin. We have been friends since we were pups , thankful I have him as a beta to help negotiate these types of things , I have a feeling that tonight my mind won't be on the treaty.

Finally all the she-wolves from my pack are ready to head out the the ball . These things can get kind of out of hand. Wolves don't have much if an issue with being nude , as we shift for the first time at 13 and we are used to shifting from wolf to human in groups . These types of events can turn into all out orgies. I've promised the father's of the she-wolves attending I will keep them safe . Not all wolves attend these balls with the intention of finding a mate rather then just getting laid one way or another . I will have to count on my men to help me keep my word . I have a feeling my mind will be elsewhere tonight .

Pulling into Alpha Richards territory has me on edge . Luna Bailey had assured me that our presence here is welcome , but our past history makes me doubt that . As soon as we reach the gates I smell her . "She's here I tell Tuck"

" See man I told you she would be . "

Her scent is strong here , and the closer we get to the pack house the stronger it gets . Alpha Richards pack is set up like many of the other older packs . there are some houses surrounding the territory but there's a large pack house in the center of the gated community. Many of the pack members who are unmated or are part of the Alphas warriors live in the pack house . I realize that my mate lives here as soon as I step inside I am hit with her sweet scent. Other wolves are finding their mates already And running to each other . This only reminds me that my mate has already disappeared once. I am determined to find her tonight and claim her as mine .

Raven's Pov:

Other packs are starting to arrive . I am nervous but Becca reminds me that having a mate is the best thing that can happen to a wolf. The other half of our soul comes together and makes us one . I do one last spin and ask how do I look ?

" drop dead gorgeous, hell I'd kill to be your mate "

We laugh and decide to head down stairs . Becca is a tall blonde. She is thin but curvy just like me . I hope she finds her mate tonight as well .

We head down stairs dress to kill and before I even make it to the bottom of the stairway Ava starts going wild.

"He is here , don't mess it up this time . "

"Ava , I am sorry about earlier, let's go find our mate . "

" It is about time you listen to me , have I ever steered you wrong . "

"Becca he is here my mate is here . "

There she goes being a jokester again .

Just then my eyes lock with the most beautiful man I have ever laid eyes on . He's tall with chiseled muscles to die for . He's huge even for a wolf . His eyes are a deep shade of blue more beautiful than any ocean. Mine I growl and begin toward him . Ava is in control this time .

Jamison's Pov.

Tuck and I are standing just below the stairway entrance watching as many of our pack members are finding their mates.

Then my mates scent gets stronger and I look up to see her coming down the stairwell . our eyes lock and instantly I know that that beautiful girl in the family photo at Luna Bailey's is indeed my mate . " Mine" Axel growls , Tucker is in awe himself at the she-wolf walking toward us with my mate .

Raven how nice to finally meet you I say to her once she arrives by my side. "It wasn't nice of you to disappear on me like that today ."

"How did you know my name? " she ask bitting her bottom lip. Damn this girl has me weak in the knees already .

" Little Raven this is your party isn't it ?" We all know your name . Daughter of the Alpha .

she blushes and I can feel my c**k growing already .

" Yes I guess that does make sense , I am sorry about earlier I had to take care of some things. "

" Don't worry you will be punished dear for leaving me like that ". I want to make her mine right here right now , she looks devine in the little red dress she's wearing not leaving much to the imagine of what I will find when I rip it from her .

I am trying to control the urge to rush her right back up the stairs to mate her and make it official ,all while keeping in mind that Alpha Richards is going to be pissed that his daughter is my mate . Mate of the most brutal and hated Alpha .

I see her smile fade , what's wrong my dear ?

"Alpha , Jamison Ellis ?" she ask . " In the flesh is that a problem mate "I growl .

Raven's POV :

" You had to be an Alpha ," I said annoyed at the fact that my mate is here in front of me and of course he's a f*****g Alpha .

"She's been rebelling against her parents for years that her mate wasn't going to be an Alpha" Becca chirps in after releasing her kiss on the man standing next to my mate .

" Thank you for your attention to this conversation Becca" I reply to her angrily.

"So your name is Becca" the man gasp. I am Tucker , but you can call me Tuck. "It is nice to meet you mate" My heart is happy for her that she finally found her mate . Becca has been 18 for almost a year and all she has talked about is finding him .

"It is getting kind of hectic in here , would you like to go to the gardens and talk" I ask Jamison .

I don't have to ask twice he grabs my hand and leads me out .

" you know this isn't going to go over well with your father" he says. Well if I have to be mated to an Alpha he can get over it . you get what you wish for" I reply. "Jameson or would you rather I call you Alpha "? I ask "Raven you are my mate you may call me what ever you wish . "

we've reached the maze where we are hidden from the view of most of the other wolves attending the party .

" I need to tell you why I left today , I know your reputation and I would like to ask you to please remain calm when I tell you . "

" Well this doesn't seem like good news "

" I was in the coffee shop today to meet my boyfriend, he is a human and I believed before today he would be my fated mate ."

I hear a growl escape from Jameson's throat.

" I'm not finished , before you go off with your possessive Alpha bullshit I say "

" You are a spit fire aren't you mate " he says .

" When I got to the shop it was packed and I could smell a vampire , I'm not sure why he was there but he talked to Ry " again another growl leaves Jamison's mouth. I continue with my story fighting to urge to reach out and pull his lips to mine . " Any way the vamp told him that I would leave him , and he was right . I knew as soon as I slid into the booth that he was indeed not my mate , and then I got a whiff of your scent , I had to leave because even tho he was not my mate I couldn't hurt him by running into your arms and leaving him like that . I did break it off before the ball started . "

Jameson's POV .

I can't help the growls that escape my mouth as I hear my mate talk about another man .

Even so it fills my heart with pride the second she says" I broke it off before the ball ."

The possessive Alpha bullshit comment has me both angry and ready to laugh at the same time . My mate Is full of life and fire .

The moment I hear the pity and sorrow in her voice for this Ry peron I want to rip his throat out . I can not help but to ask her the question I know she expects from me and my possessive alpha bullshit .

"Have you slept with this man ?" she blushes and bites that bottom lip again. "No , I know it's old school and most wolves don't wait now days but that's one thing I do agree with my father on , I waited to find my mate , I waited to find you . "

I can't help myself , all the urges I've been fighting I slam my lips to hers. I feel the sparks of the mate bond begging me to mark her .

Axel is scream in my head take her and make her yours . I want to take her right there , but she's just told me she's a virgin and I don't want to rush her . Rylan's Pov:

I wasn't going to crash her party. I trusted Raven , but after the way she ran out on me , the strange man and the txt she sent me. I couldn't help but wonder how this man knew the things he did . I Kept trying to call but it was going straight to voice mail . I decided that I would put my mind at ease and just go . I didn't care how much her friends and family hated me , I loved her and I needed her to know I wasn't going to end things like this .

walking up to the gate I could hear voices out in the garden .

Raven always said the garden was her favorite palace at her dad's. it's where she would go for privacy and to just reflect . The closer I got to the gate the clearer the voices got . Some love sick puppies must have snuck away from Raven's party for some quiet time .

Then I realized that the brown haired girl making those moans pinned up against the wall were her .

" What the f**k Raven , is this why you left , who the hell is that ".

I was frozen in horror , the girl I loved, the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with was out here about to give herself to this man. "After two years this is how it is" I screamed ." Hell you never even let me touch you like that , how long Raven , How long have you been screwing around on me ? "

Her eyes were filled with a mixture of horror and sorrow but I didn't care that I was talking to her like trash because in this moment that's exactly what she was .

" watch your mouth boy " , the man who was practically f*****g my ol lady said in an inhuman like growl .

" Yeah and what are you going to do about it? Did you know , did you know about me ? "

" He didn't Ry, please leave you can't be here." Ravens voice was almost apologetic.

"Why Raven so he can rip your clothes off and finish what I walked up on ? , How could you do this to me . I was going to ask you to marry me today , I bet you don't even care about that seeing as how you have this mans lips all over you only two hours after texting me that you can't see me any more. How did that man know , is he part of your little secret community , had he seen you two together? "

I was attracting an audience from the people in the garden but I didn't care .

" She said leave boy ", man's voices boomed with more authority then felt natural . I could see the amount of anger spilling from him , it almost matched my own .

"You can have her she's a w***e apparently any way" I spat with as much venom as I could .

Just as I was ready to walk away I seen the man's eyes change from Blue to an emerald green . I thought I was seeing things but then I heard her , "please he doesn't understand , let him vent and walk away , he's just a human you will kill him ". I could hear the softness she felt for me in those words and I knew it was far from over . I had to figure out what was going on behind that fence . But for now I would walk away from the situation .

Jameson's POV .

Axel was trying to surface . How dare this human talk to our mate like this . She rejected him why was he here and what right did he think he had to talk to my mate , my Luna this way. I was ready to shift to rip him to shreds.

"please he doesn't understand , let him vent and walk away" my mate placed her hand on my face and calmed the beast inside me . No one has ever been able to do that before . I am still beyond livid that my mate would show sympathy to this human she once planned to share a life with , but I would punish her later .

Right now we had to deal with the fact that this idiots pissing contest had attracted a crowed and amongst the crowd was none other then Alpha Richards .

" I see you have made your self quite comfortable with my daughter " he growled.

" my apologies Alpha Richards , my intentions of tonight we're not to ended up in a garden with your daughter. I was here to look out for my pack members who have been invited to attend tonight's ball , It seems the moon Goddess has plans of her own for me attending tonight . "

Alpha Richards smiled " It seems dear daughter that Your mother and I have always been right about the moon goddess and her plans for you. I must admit Alpha Ellis was the farthest from my mind on a list I would have I imagined choose for you my dear girl. "

" Dad please can we go inside and finish this conversation . I'd Like to move away from the eyes of the rest of the packs ."

" Of course dear , or should I call you you Luna Ellis now "

"Dad please stop , we will discuss this in private. Jameson and I will meet you in your office in 30 minutes. The rest of you , I apologize for the interruption of the festivities, please continue and enjoy the rest of the night .

Damn my mate was a natural at controlling the situation. I know she was born of pure Alpha blood and any alpha would love to have her as their Luna, but she is my mate and I will cherish her for all that she is , even her big attitude for such a small person.

I was appreciative that Alpha Richards was willing to look past the blood line I was born of and just happy he approved of his daughter with an alpha.

Raven's Pov

Damn it I shouldn't have turnt my phone off , I could have prevented this unfortunate show of testosterone. I knew Ry would be upset butt I never expected him to show up like this .

I am however thankful that Ry didn't know the extent of who he was willing to challenge. I feel for him because of what we had , but each moment with Jameson I can feel the mate bond growing stronger . His threats of punishment would send fear into anyone else, but they send

excitement though my body and make my slit weep . His reputation of being a brutal and ruthless ruler are nothing compared to what he has shown me already . I know that I am his and he is mine and I would kill to protect my mate.

My father seems delighted for me to have been mated to an alpha no matter the bad blood that sits between the two packs . I hope that we can discuss that situation when we meet him in the next half hour, as I will become a part of the blue lake moon pack leaving my life here at the blood moon pack behind . I know my mother will always welcome me home arms wide open , but my father is known to hold grudges for a long time .

" Jameson I am sorry about that , I had no ideal that he would show up here "

" It's okay doll , I know you are telling the truth I can feel it through out bond . He is lucky my Luna asked me to show him mercy . I am usually a man of few words and mostly action . I wanted to rip his heart from his chest for speaking to you the way he has tonight ."

" I know sweetheart , but he is a human and was In love with me , he has no ideal what I am or what the mate bond means to our kind . I wish I would have handled things with him differently , but I hope that this is the end of having to deal with my past. I want nothing more than to begin the future our goddess has planned for the two of us ."

yesterday I would have gagged at the thought of being mated to an alpha , today I can't imagine what it would be like to not have Jameson as my mate , all with in a few hours of meeting this man I am completely his .

His lips find mine and the sparks from the bond light a fire in the pit of my stomach. most of the mates found tonight have completed their mating, and marked each other already. I want so bad for jameson to take me right here , but I know that we have issues to handle first and foremost .

we walk past those who have found their mates tonight not caring who is around they are completing the mating process right in the open . Some are in wolf form and some in human form . This makes my heart flinch with jealousy. I want to feel jameson stretch me to my full potential , just as these she-wolfs are experiencing at this very moment.

Jameson squeezes my hand , " Don't worry darling , you will be punished to the full extent for making me wait to mark you and claim you as mine , as soon as we get this meeting over."

My heart races and I know he means every word of what he just said .
