Allies

Becca and Raven head back toward the pack house. Occasionally they pass pack members who bow as Raven walks past. Raven is used to a life as the Alpha's daughter and the pack showing her respectfulness. This is a new level of attention that she will have to get used too .

The girls return to the pack house and Jameson and Anderson are waiting there for Raven .

" Are you ready to go down to the dungeon" Jameson ask Raven .

" As ready as I will ever be " she replies.

Jameson , Raven and Anderson head down to the worst part of the pack house.

The smell of iron fills the air . Musty old blood and mold overwhelm Ravens nostrils.

Jameson has the reputation of the most ruthless Alpha in North America. The though of what he has done to people down here makes Raven shiver.

" I know it's hard to think about , I've never done anything that didn't benefit this pack or was unjust". Jameson says to Raven though the mind link.

She squeezes his hand . Deep in her heart she knows that Jameson only does what is needed to protect his people.

They arrive at the cell that holds Jake .

" Hello princess" Jake hisses .

Raven ignores his words and allows Jameson to take charge of the situation.

" We can do this one of two ways . You can either tell me what I need to know and die a dignified death . Or you can make it hard . If you choose to make this hard , you will suffer tremendous before your life is taken." Jameson announces to Jake using his Aloha tone.

" What is it you want to know Alpha" Jake replies with venom lacing his voice.

" Tell me , vampire. What is your Kings plan if you failed to deliver Raven? " Jameson roars

" I do not know ,mutt. I am a pawn in his game . High enough to be used in his plans but not high enough to know them." Jake hisses .

"Where were you to deliver Raven to once you captured her?" Jameson ask.

" I was to deliver her two hours north of the Warehouse. Then two more of the Kings men were to take her to the safe house. Only those in his direct circle know the whereabouts of the safehouse. I am not high enough in rank to know." Jake answers.

" I believe him" Raven sends though her mind link to Jameson.

Jameson feels her sympathy toward the vampire. He doesn't understand it but he can feel the need for her to ask her own questions.

" Ask him baby . I know you need answers" Jameson sends back through the link .

" Jake , I am a living breathing person. Why was it morally okay with you to kidnap me ? To take me away from my family , my pack , the love of my life to be used in such a demeaning manner?" Raven ask him with hurt in her voice .

" Luna , you must understand it is a lonely world for an immortal being . Our King is much like that of an Alpha . He makes the laws and we follow them or we loose our lives or be banished. Living in a world where we can not show our true natures to the humans we live amongst is torture . Those of us whom integrate with humans watch the ones we come to care about age and die while we forever stay frozen in time. I had a family ,a life before being turned . I understand your hurt . But I had to do as I was told to survive. " Jake answers with remorse.

" Is there a chance of peace between our kinds" Raven ask him.

" As long as the King lives no . Now that he knows of you , of what your blood and what it can produce for him, he will hunt you until the end of time. I am sorry for having been involved I know my time is limited but I have lived a very long time. I had a love and a family before I was turned . I watched them age and die with sickness. I am ready to finally be at peace with them." Jake replies with sadness laced in his voice .

" Would you help us destroy the King ? If we spared your life here today ? " Raven asked.

" What the hell do you think your doing ? If I spare his life how do you know he will not betray you! Besides that if I allow this vile man to live other Alphas will come after our pack. they will think that I have lost my ways. That I have gone soft" Jameson roars though the link.

" Baby , listen to me. If we can use Jake to get to the king then we can destroy him and take out the threat . I refuse to live in fear. You heard him. As long as the king lives I will be hunted like a prized trophy. I refuse to have my people continue to die for years fighting the King's men ." Raven snaps back.

Raven is wise beyond her years . Jameson knows she is right.

" Fine we do it your way for now , but if he crosses me I will make him suffer tremendously." Jameson reluctantly agrees.

Jake watches as the two wolves hold a silent conversation through their link . He knows that Jameson is known as the most ruthless Alpha and he's sure that Jameson will not allow him to survives his capture.

Raven snaps her attention back to Jake " well , will you help us or not ? If we destroy the king then your kind will be free of his rule . you can live as you please and we can have peace between our kinds".

" Luna , if we destroy the King , we will also have to destroy his right hand men . They will not allow peace . His top men are vampires as old as he . They believe in his laws and his ways. But I will help If it means peace among our kinds. I am very old born in the 1700s I have seen many wars amongst the wolves and the vampires in my day . How could you grantee peace with the other packs when we are sworn enemies" Jake asks

" I can not guarantee it with the other packs , but I can promise peace between this pack , the largest of the north American packs , my father's pack , and my mother's. That will be a very large start . you will be able to travel in this part of the country as long as your kind follow the rules and keep the peace treaty. I will ask that you do not hunt humans close to our pack lands and that you only feed from the willing without killing humans near our lands ." Raven replies.

Jake thinks about the man he once was before the curse of time turned him into what he is now . For the first half of his existence he was a good man , he remained a good man even after he was turned, until the day he lost his family . He thinks about his wife Lilly and what she would think of the man he's become today. If there is a human god, and he has all reason to believe there is, after all he's a vampire speaking with a warewolf. Then he knows his wife Lilly is in heaven looking down on him.

He wonders if taking down the vampire king and bringing peace between two species would be enough redemption to one day make it to where Lilly is.

" I will help you. As I told you before I once had a life before being turned. I had a wife. I know what true love feels like and I am sorry I tried to Rip you from yours. Luna, Please forgive me . " Jake answers remorseful.

" We need a plan , I can not just let you go with out causing an uprise." Jameson growls.

He has faith in Raven's plan. It actually makes sense, but he knows the riots that would come if the wolves knew he allowed Jake to live.

" One more thing , tell me what you know of Alpha Bryant. Can you provide me prof of his plans to breed Raven? Before I can destroy him legally I need the proof to back it up and since you will be presumed dead to the wolves I need hard evidence. " Jameson ask holding back the need to rip of Jakes head.

Jake tells them everything from the first meeting he had with Alpha Bryant to the point that the King decided he would betray the Alpha. Jake hands Jameson a burner phone with incriminating text messages between the Alpha and the vampires. This is enough to justify killing the Alpha and absorbing his pack .

" Thank you , for this information. We will come back this evening after our pack meeting to discuss plans on your release and a plan to take down the King. I know we are on a time crunch with the three days the Luna and I were unavailable. I don't want the King to suspect that we have convinced you to join our side. Until then do you need anything Jake ?" Jameson ask.

" Alpha I need blood . I have been down here for three days without feeding. I am weak and hungry. " Jake answers honestly.

" I will send Anderson down shortly with blood from the blood bank at the pack hospital, I hope that will hold you over as I will not allow you to feed from my people directly. Nor will I bring any humans here. " Jameson replied coldly.

" I understand Alpha , that will help me enough to get me away from the territory before I need to feed again." Jake answers with sincerity.

Jameson and Raven leave the dungeon to attend the pack meeting. It's been a long day already and Raven hopes that she is making the right choices. She wants nothing more then to protect her people and her pups .

Then it hits her that she thought of her pups She makes a mental note to grab some pregnancy test from the pack doctor. Because werewolves have much shorter pregnancies then humans. She should be able to take a test in the next day or so and know. Wolves carry for 4 months instead of 9 and she needs to know if she is caring pups before this war starts.

Jameson feels her worry. He wraps her in his arms and kisses her forehead .

" The moon goddess wouldn't send us pups unless the time was right. I am here for you, please don't worry. We will find out in the next few days and I will keep you safe no matter what , but if you are carrying you will be protected at all cost. " He reassures her.

Raven truly believes everything Jameson says and it puts her at ease. they approach the large meeting room. It has already begun to fill with the pack members .

Raven knows in this moment these are her pack members. She will not allow the forces that threaten her to threaten her pack. She knows she's doing the right thing , by bringing peace between the vampires and her pack. She just hopes that when the time comes her pack understands.

Jameson and Raven approach the front of the room.

Jameson speaks first . " As many of you know, Luna and I have been away for the last three days. "

Whistles echo in the meeting room . Raven blushes knowing that the whole pack knows of their 3 day s*x furlough.

" Okay that's enough, Jameson laughs ."

" We have many things to discuss here today. The first being Ronald's brave sacrifice to protect your Luna . I would like to reward Ronald's family with this metal in honor of Him . His pups are being rewarded a full ride scholarship to any collage they wish to attend once they are of age . The pack would also like to award Tia , Ronald's wife with his death benefit package. Your home is paid in full and you will receive funding from here on out to support your pups. You have lost your mate and the last thing we want is for you to worry how you will raise your pups. I know that these are minimal for the pain you are feeling. But Ms. Smith I hope that you can accept our offer and our greatest condolences. " Jameson speaks with sincerity.

" Thank you Alpha Ellis. Nothing will replace Ronald . But I know that he died doing what he lived for and that was protecting this pack. " Tia accepts the metal on behalf of her fallen mate tears in her eyes .

Raven can not contain her emotions. She apologies to Tia and the two embrace in a long hug. There isn't a dry eye in the meeting .

Tia and her pups return to their seat for the duration of the meeting.

" Next on our agenda today. We have discovered the Pack responsible for the attempted kidnapping of our Luna. Many of you have heard of Alpha Justin Bryant and his rumored breeding program. Today I have hard proof that we have been searching years for. We will be leaving at day break to absolve the Red river pack. I would like a few volunteers to help house the women and children if you would be kind enough. I assume we will also have broken women needing assistance. Tucker will take the information after the meeting of those willing to house refugees until housing situations are established . With that I turn the meeting over to your Luna and my mother '' Jameson announces.

Raven and crystal stand and the pack bows their heads in respect .

" First I want to think each and every member of our pack for the kindness that I have received since my arrival. Things have been a little hectic and I know this is not how you expected Alpha Ellis to have brought his mate into the pack. My hope for tomorrow is to have each and every warrior retuned home safely . However I know that may not be the case. I want to personally thank each and everyone of the warriors for fighting for this pack. For protecting myself and for being the brave souls that they are ." Raven whole hearty speaks to the crowd .

The pack erupts in Applaud. Raven has earned the respect of her people .

" I know that this hasn't been a traditional Luna introduction, The Luna ceremony has been postponed longer then usual. I would like to announce that we will be holding that ceremony this weekend. Crystal has been kind enough to help with the details and we would like volunteers to help the kitchen staff with catering." Raven anounced.

" I would also love if a few of the women would be kind enough to dedicate their time to helping with the decorations. I will be gathering names of those whom would like to help after the meeting . " Crystal adds .

Jameson stands and the crowd goes silent .

" If there are no more concerns to address today , I would like to introduce the newest member of our pack " He says.

None speaks up with any concerns .

Kayla and Rylan stand .

" This is Rylan Cantfield. He is Kayla's fated mate. He has been given one week to adjust to life in the pack, but then he will begin training to fight with the warriors. However he is in needs of a paying Job. If any of our business owners would have an opening they need filled please leave your information with my mother this evening ." Jameson says.

The crowd welcomes Rylan and he and Kayla bow at the applaud.

" The meeting is now adjourned, there is food available in the Dining area . We will be having a lantern release in honor of Ronald tonight at sundown." Jameson says .

With that the pack beings dismissed into the dining area. People are congratulating Kayla and Rylan. Jameson and Raven say their goodbyes and head back down stairs to speak with Jake about the next plan. Things are happening fast and Raven is worried about how many more life's will be at risk in the days to come .

The couple arrives to the dungeon. Jake is pacing his cell. He is lost in though about what he has agreed too. He's a good man deep in his heart and he knows that if he's caught he will loose his life. He also knows that if he doesn't agree to help the wolves he will loose his life. He has decided he would rather die with honor knowing he has done the right thing then to die as a captive for crimes he deserves to be killed for.

Jameson clears his throat and snaps Jake out of his deep thought.

" Alpha , it's nice to see you and Raven again ." Jake says .

" You seem to have been deep in thought , have you changed your mind ? " Jameson replied with hopes of getting to rip his head from his shoulders then and now.

" You are right I was in deep thought. I was thinking about a time when I was a better man. I will help you. My dear Lilly rest her soul would be ashamed of the man I have become. If I am to die I would much rather die a man she would be proud of ." Jake says.

" I'm sure she would be proud to hear you say that "Raven speaks up .

" Thank you Luna , I hope that she would. " He replies eyes full of tears.

Jake tells the couple all that he knows. He tells them that Jameson needs to beat him to make his story convincible .

" Gladly " Jameson growls .

They come up with a plan to rough Jake up and to have him say that during a shift change Jake was able to mind control a guard into letting him escape .

Jake will return to the clan and secretly give information to Jameson. It's not much of a plan and the Alpha is putting a lot at risk letting Jake go on his on his word. Raven believes that Jake is genuinely interested in bringing peace between the two species.

They agree for Jake to make his escape during tonight's lantern release. Most of the pack will be in attendance to honor Ronald. Only a few of the most trusted worriers will know the plan and they will leave an opening to the south side of the property for Jake to make his exit .
