Elder Meeting
Alpha Alex Monte stands in what he considers a court room. The marble floors and wooden benches that align with the walls. On each of those benches sat the Elders of the werewolves. The walls were painted white with pictures of wolf hollowing to the moon. Some paintings had different kinds of moons and some paw paintings as well. Maps littered the back of the south end of the room with each werewolf territory on it. Each elderly is around forty or older. Some looked so withered that if the wind blew in they would probably break. The oldest of the elders stood up. He looked around 60 years of age with sliver hair. His blue eyes that faded when age creeped in but didn't deteriorate from the "I'm in charge look". He reached about 5'8 to Alex's 6'0 feet. The thin outline of a once very built man like Alex that was starting to wither away. He wore a black robe with a golden outline stitched, highlighting his status as the leader of the elders. The Elder walked toward Alex and Alex could feel his Beta stiffen.
Beta Mathew Cooper normal carefree playboy attitude changed to an alert one. His wife, beta female Iduna Cooper laid a hand on his back as a comfort support, that all fated females had. Matt stood at 5'8 inches to his wife's 5'6, both sporting a blond appearance with curls. Matt had light blue eyes compared to his wife's brown eyes. Matt was lean and had an athletic build like all male werewolves have. Iduna had a very curvy, sexy build that made females with no curves jealous. Add to that with a motherly attitude, these two were Alpha Alex's closest friends and family he'd ever had. Whenever Alex needed a distraction or a little laugh in his life, these two delivered that.
The Elder walked just a little closer and cleared his throat.
"Welcome Northwestern Paw Pack!" He said with a horse froggy voice. "I bid you welcome Alpha Alex, Beta Mathew and Female Beta Iduna. Let this meeting of the elders begin."
He walked back to his chair and sat down. Cleared his throat yet again and continued,
"We are here to talk about a mate for Alpha Alex." he said as he narrowed his eyes.
It was Alex's turn to stiffen this time.
"No we're not." He responded, putting a little more heat behind his voice, he added,
"We're here to talk about the attacks on my pack, on my land, and the man that is called Alpha of the Rogues."
The elders murmured a little at that and the leader of the elders nodded a bit.
"Yes," he agreed, "but we would like to discuss your mate situation first."
"NO!" Alex barked, "I will not talk about that first. My pack is in danger and I have no time to discuss a mate. I am first a Alpha to others and my mate will have to wait. The Rogue pack are now calling themselves the Blood Moon Pack. They are now forming their own and are now attacking other packs to expand."
More murmurs started and Alex continued,
"The Blood Moon Pack have also been attacking human villages in between. One of my scouts reported that the human cops are now starting to take notice and that can NOT happen we have a peace treaty with them. If they find out it's us, a war with humans will start. We cannot let this happen."
"What proof do you have of this?" asked one of the female elders, getting attention now from Matt.
Matt's musical voice rang out for the first time.
"My scout is one of the best. The Blood Moon Pack is now moving towards our pack. The town called Holand was destroyed. According to my member, there is one more human town in that area. It's one of Northerwestern most allied town. The humans that live in that town are werewolf hunters."
The elder female's lips thinned though,
"Who's the leader of the hunter's Beta?"
"Johnathon McKennith" replied Iduna, in a small whisper she continued, "from the town of Bridgewood."
The elders started talking in loud voices. Now some were even loud enough to catch.
A younger elder now stood up. He looked no older than Alex himself. Alpha Alex had just turned 30 years old a month ago and this elder seemed only 10 years older than Alex.
"The McKennith's are not any normal werewolf hunters," he stated with a grim expression. "They have regular humans, yes! However, they also haven to mages, elves, and others. This Blood Moon Pack can't destroy this town, it will affect every race."
The elder leader nodded and stroked his chin, his eyes moved into a dream state as he was thinking. When they cleared he looked at Alex. Then, after a few minutes, he chimed up.
"Aphla Alex, are you willing to add to your land and protect that village? Is that why you're here?"
Alex nodded, "Yes elder. I'm willing to leave here right now, round up as many of my warriors as I can, and protect that village. I only hope that this long meeting doesn't take too long, too where we will be too late to help."
The elder nodded, "Permission granted."
Alex's sigh of relief and was turning to leave until he heard the elder clear his throat yet again. With an eye roll, Alex turned back to the leader of the elders who was now smiling at him.
"We still need to talk about the mate thing, but since lives are at stack we will drop it for now but we will start an new meeting about it later." the elder smirked.
Alex nodded annoyingly and left, with both Beta's following his heels.
They got outside and Alex found himself finally able to breathe more freely then when he arrived. Now to get to Bridgewood before it crumples. They walked quickly to Alex's black Suv as quickly as they could. The tinted window gave a little bit of privacy. When they were all buckled in, Alex took off like a bat out hell. He linked to Sam Conth, the head warrior.
"Yes Alpha!"
"The meeting is over. Gather at least 50 warriors. I will be there in 20 minutes. Be ready to leave for Bridgewood immediately!"
"Yes Alpha!"
Alex closed the link and looked in the back mirror towards his Beta. Matt nodded and added, "Let the war begin. I guess."
Iduna sighed, "Please be careful you two. I don't want to lose either one of you."
Alex's chest tightened. Iduna, has become a close friend, like his best friend Matt. He would hate to see either one of them hurt. Alex knew though that war was one thing that was very unpredictable at best and he couldn't promise Iduna that both of her boys would be able to come back. If anyone should return, it should be Matt. Iduna and Matt have two boys and Alex has not found a mate yet.
Alex's heart hurt. It wasn't for trying, however, he searched the land and the world for his mate and found nothing. He was tired of it. Maybe the Moon Goddess couldn't find a match for him or she has a horrible sense of humor. Now wasn't the time, though lives would be lost if they couldn't stop the Blood Moon Pack. Even if he found his mate, he would bring her into a world of war right now. But the more he thought about it was just enough to convince him that the Moon Goddess would definitely find him, his mate in all other chaos.
Yep, he thought I'm lost without a mate, but I'd be lost with a mate in all of this war.
Please Moon Goddess, I don't think I can take anymore.
After a few minutes, Alex turned onto a little dirt road leading to the pack house. Once there, the warriors were all ready there and waiting. Alex got out of the SUV with the other two. Walking toward Sam.
"Is everyone here, Sam?"
Sam was a 5'7 wide looking mountain man with shaggy brown hair the flowed down to his shoulders with a matching beard. Sam's brown eyes looked back at Alex's green ones with seriousness.
"Yes Alpha. All are here and ready, sir."
Alex nodded and his hand swiped into his wavy red hair. Alex liked it short but not too short, otherwise his skin would probably be burnt like the rest of his skin. It was with white or burnt no inbetween.
"Then get everyone loaded up Sam."
Sam nodded and left barking orders to the men. Alex turned to find the Cooper family arguing. Alex rolled his eyes and walked towards them. Both of the Cooper boys were their father's sons, they both looked so much like him same stature, coloring, and looks that were unmistakable to who they belonged too. The closer Alex got to them, his ears started to ring. Shaking his head, he yelled in his alpha tone.
"What the hell is going on here?"
All eyes turned to him and the youngest of the boys looked at his brother. Both boys were in high school. Joe Cooper, the youngest, will be turning sixteen in a few months. Where he will be gain his wolf. The oldest boy, however, walked to the Alpha.
"I want to fight!" he announced, "But father said no."
The boy looked back at his father angrily.
Alex sighed, "Jake, you need to stay here. As the next Beta and higher ranked wolf, I need you to lead the ones left behind to protect our boarders. If we don't get to Bridgewood on time, and it's destroyed. It means that the Blood Moon Pack will be here soon. I need some leaders here. I need you to be the main leader here to watch it."
Jake's eyes widened, "ME!"
Alex smiled, "Yes you."
"Oh, um okay I guess, I didn't know that, thank you for trusting me with this." Jake bowed.
"Jake, make sure you and the other warriors start patrol as soon as we leave. Anyone who can't fight, like children, mothers, and elders need to be put into, the bunker. Make sure Joe and his friend go with their the last protection should the rest of us fail. Understand me?"
Alex looked into Jakes' eyes, the boy nodded and swallowed hard.
"Yes sir." Jake bowed and went over to Matt and gave his father a big hug.
"I will not fail you sir."
Matt nodded, "I know you both won't. You are my sons and that makes you very strong. Protect the pack with your life."
Both boys nodded and Matt went to give one last hug and kiss to each family member. Matt moved towards Alex with a nod.
"Let's go Alpha. The others are waiting."
Alex nodded and turned, walking side by side with his Beta.
Please, Moon Goddess, let us hope we're not too late.
