She was his fated mate.

He looked her in the eyes… and forgot her completely.

Elara Voss has spent three years hiding as a rogue after the most powerful wolf in the kingdom rejected their mate bond in front of the entire pack. The Wolf King, Kael Blackthorn, claimed he felt nothing. No pull. No recognition. Just cold indifference as he chose another.

Now the mate bond is awakening again — stronger, more painful, and impossible to ignore.

Kael’s memories of her are gone, erased by a dark curse he doesn’t even know exists. All he feels is an inexplicable obsession with the quiet, sharp-tongued woman who keeps appearing in his territory.

Elara wants revenge.

Kael wants answers.

And the force that stole his memories will do anything to keep them apart forever.

When the forgotten mate returns, the Wolf King will either remember the love that was stolen from him… or destroy the only woman who can save his pack.

The Mate Who Forgot Me
Chapter 1: The Mate Who Forgot Me The rain felt like ice needles against my skin as I stood at the edge of Blackthorn territory. Three years. It had been exactly three years since the most powerful wolf in the kingdom looked me straight in the eyes and shattered my entire world with six cold, emotionless words: “I reject you, Elara Voss.” That night still lived inside me like an open wound that refused to close. The entire pack had watched. Some had looked away in pity. Others had smirked with satisfaction. The woman standing beside him — the one he chose instead of his true mate — had looked at me with pure, venomous triumph. And Kael… Kael Blackthorn, the Wolf King, had stared at me like I was nothing. No recognition. No pain. No mate pull. Just emptiness. As if the sacred bond that had burned so brightly between us had never existed at all. I had run that same night. I left everything behind — my home, my friends, my identity — and became a rogue because staying would have slowly killed me. For three long years I survived in the shadows, learning how to fight, how to hide, and how to silence the broken pieces of my heart. I never planned to return. But fate, it seemed, had a cruel and twisted sense of humor. A sharp, violent pain suddenly tore through my chest, so strong that I staggered forward and pressed a trembling hand against my heart. The mate bond. The same bond that had been silent and almost dead for three years was waking up again — fierce, hungry, and impossible to ignore. It pulled me toward the massive black castle that rose against the stormy sky like a dark god watching my every step. Blackthorn Castle. His home. I clenched my jaw so tightly that my teeth ached and forced myself to keep walking. I didn’t come back for him. I came because the rogue lands were no longer safe. Something dark and unnatural was hunting lone wolves, leaving their bodies drained, broken, and discarded like trash. The only place strong enough to offer real protection was the very pack that had once thrown me away like I was worthless. The moment I stepped past the territory border, two warriors appeared from the trees as if they had been waiting for me. Their eyes glowed gold in the darkness. “Stop right there,” one of them growled, voice rough with authority. “State your name and business.” I lifted my chin, rain dripping down my face and soaking through my clothes. “Elara Voss. I’m requesting temporary sanctuary under the old laws.” They exchanged a look. One of them narrowed his eyes, recognition slowly dawning. “Voss… that name sounds familiar. Weren’t you—” Before either of them could finish the sentence, a deep, commanding voice cut through the storm like a blade. “Let her through.” My blood turned to ice. I knew that voice. Even after three years. Even after everything he had done to me. Kael Blackthorn stepped out of the shadows as if the night itself had created him. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Dressed entirely in black. His dark hair was wet from the rain and clung to his forehead, and those sharp silver eyes — the eyes of the Wolf King — locked onto me with zero recognition. Nothing. Not even a flicker. The mate bond inside me screamed in pain and longing so loudly that I almost collapsed. He stopped a few steps away and looked at me the same way he would look at any ordinary rogue. Cold. Assessing. Completely indifferent. There was no warmth, no curiosity, no memory of the girl he had once claimed as his. “You requested sanctuary,” he said, his voice low and powerful, carrying easily over the sound of the rain. “Why should I grant it?” I forced myself to meet his gaze without flinching, even though every part of me was breaking into pieces. “Because the rogue lands are being hunted. Something is killing lone wolves, and the attacks are getting closer to your borders every day. Your pack still follows the ancient laws. Any wolf in genuine danger has the right to request protection.” Kael studied me for a long moment. The rain continued to fall between us in heavy sheets. My heart was beating so hard I was sure he could hear it. Part of me desperately wanted him to remember. Another part of me was terrified of what would happen if he did. Finally, he spoke. “Very well. You may stay for seven days. After that, you leave. Do not cause trouble… and do not approach me unless I summon you. Is that understood?” He turned away as if I were nothing more than a stranger who had wasted a few minutes of his time. As if I had never been his fated mate. As if the bond currently tearing my chest apart did not exist. As if the last three years of pain and loneliness meant nothing at all. I stood frozen in the rain, watching the Wolf King walk back toward his castle — the man who had once been my destiny… and who now looked at me like a complete stranger. Seven days. I had seven days inside the walls of the man who forgot me. And somehow, deep in my bones, I already knew those seven days were going to destroy us both.
