Chapter 1 Wandering toddlers
Deep in that lush and mysterious forest, five-year-old Lily was like a lonely fallen leaf, floating helplessly in the cold and humid air. Her large, clear and smart eyes were now filled with fear and confusion. Hunger was like a big, merciless hand, tugging at her belly, while fatigue was like a heavy lead, dragging her little body.
Lily's once delicate pink dress was now tattered and stained with dirt and leaves. Her hair was messy and scattered on her shoulders, with a few strands sticking to her pale face. She took a staggering step, and every step she took seemed to use up all her strength.
This forest is a huge and unfamiliar maze for Lily. She didn't know how she got here, she only remembered that she was in this eerie place as soon as she woke up. The tall trees around her looked like giants, looking down at her, a tiny intruder, indifferently.
"Mom...Dad..." Lily called in a weak voice, with a cry in her voice. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she stubbornly refused to fall. She told herself to be strong and not to cry, but the fear in her heart surged up like a tide.
Lily struggled to find a way out. Her little feet trudged along the thorny path, and her delicate skin was scratched with bloody marks. She ignored the pain and just wanted to leave this terrible place.
As the minutes passed, Lily grew more and more desperate. Hunger made her dizzy. She saw some wild fruits on the roadside and couldn't wait to reach out to pick them. But those wild fruits were sour and astringent. She almost spit them out after taking a bite, but she still swallowed them in order to fill her stomach.
The sun is gradually setting in the west, and the light in the forest is getting darker and darker. Lily was so frightened that she seemed to hear all kinds of strange sounds coming from around her, including the roars of wild beasts and the screams of birds. Every gust of wind and the rustling of leaves frightened her.
"I want to go home, I want to go home..." Lily murmured, her voice trembling. She didn't know how long she had been walking, nor how far she could go.
Just when she was about to give up, she suddenly heard a low roar. Lily's heart suddenly rose to her throat. She looked around nervously and saw a huge gray wolf slowly walking out of the woods.
Lily was so frightened that she stepped back, tripped and fell to the ground. The gray wolf slowly approached her, with a majestic look in his eyes. Lily closed her eyes in horror, thinking that this was the end of her.
However, the imagined attack never came. When Lily opened her eyes again, she found the gray wolf standing quietly in front of her, with a hint of concern in his eyes.
Lily gathered her courage and looked into the eyes of the gray wolf. At that moment, she seemed to feel an inexplicable connection.
The gray wolf turned and walked in one direction. After walking a few steps, he looked back at Lily, as if gesturing for her to follow. Lily hesitated, but finally decided to follow the gray wolf.
Under the leadership of the gray wolf, Lily passed through a dense forest and came to a small stream. Ignoring the coldness of the stream, she leaned over and drank heavily.
After drinking enough water, Lily felt like she had regained some strength. She looked at the gray wolf gratefully, but the gray wolf just stood aside quietly, guarding her.
As night falls, the forest becomes even more eerie. Lily huddled under a big tree, and the gray wolf lay beside her, blocking some of the cold wind from her.
In fear and exhaustion, Lily gradually fell into sleep. In her sleep, she seemed to feel a mysterious power surging in her body. It was her unawakened werewolf power, which was quietly awakening in this predicament.
After an unknown amount of time, when the first ray of sunlight in the morning shone in the forest, Lily slowly opened her eyes. She found that the gray wolf had disappeared, but there was more courage and hope in her heart.
Lily stood up and continued on her way to find her way home. She knew that no matter how many difficulties lay ahead, she would never give up easily.
