Episode1
Rivette’s pov The door slammed hard enough to shake dust from the frame. I flinched from the hallway as Kiel stormed into the bedroom, his heavy boots thudding across the polished floors. The Omegas fled for their lives, even I could feel my breath hitch to my throat as his aura gripped me tightly around the neck like a noose. He didn't pause, barely even glanced my way as he ripped the tie from around his neck- I almost winced, like I could feel it strangling my own neck. Standing frozen at the doorway, my fingers grappled tightly on the frame. I could barely swallow as I watched the muscles on his back tense, the shadow cast on his sharp jaw. My hearing aids buzzed faintly, distorting the world around me into something muffled, daunting. Without thinking, I hurriedly ran in. “K- Kiel- “ my voice cracked the moment he turned to me, slowly. The fury in his eyes- moonlit silver and cold as stone- landed on me and I paused, my outstretched arms before me, unmoving. “I- “ He quickly shut me up with his hand quickly clamping around my throat. Barely seconds after, my feet barely touched the ground, and I couldn't breathe. “You.” His breath hit my face, hot as he shook with rage. “You humiliated me.” My pulse thundered. I tried to form a sign with my free hand, but he squeezed harder and both hands latched into his, trying to pry myself away from death's claw. “Don't you dare,” his lips curled into a vile sneer. “You can fool millions, but not me- not your Alpha, RIVETTE. You think I didn't see? That I wouldn't know?” I clawed at his wrist, desperate for air. “Daemon,” he growled. “You want to explain why you were all over him tonight? In front of my people? In front of every allied Alpha present there!” I shook my head frantically. My hearing aid whined from the pressure of his voice so close to it. His grip tightened again. “You're f*****g him, aren't you?” His nose wrinkled and he stared at me with such distaste my heart shattered into a million pieces. “You looked disgusting. Throwing your pathetic weak body at him like some desperate Omega.” “N- No- “ I managed to rasp, my voice barely leaving my lips in a strangled tone. The muscle in his jaw twitching, he turned, and in one fluid motion shoved me onto the bed. My back hit the mattress hard, the impact knocking the remaining breath out of me. I bounced off it helplessly- my balance always went first when I was in this state, terrified and nauseous, everything inside me seemed to turn to mush. As his shadow fell over me, tears blurred my vision as I struggled to push myself up on trembling elbows. Alpha Daemon had merely approached me at the soiree. One of Kiel’s council members, I had thought it would be polite to entertain a conversation with him, but Kiel didn't seem to like that. I could tell by the way his gaze burned holes into my head all evening. I had immediately torn away from the Alpha, making up an excuse to leave the function, but it seemed Kiel didn't take it lightly; that it was all a misunderstanding. “Pl- please Kiel- Please I didn't - “ “Shut up!” He thundered. I whimpered as he grabbed my ankle, flipping me over so his chest crushed my back as he yanked me underneath him. “I don't want to hear another word from that lying mouth of yours. Listen to yourself- despicable retard, you can barely form a sentence.” I cried out, struggling as I grabbed onto a pillow, helplessly trying to drag myself off his crushing weight. In an instance, looming over me, he ripped open my dress from the back in violent jerking motions. I felt the seams snap, the fabric tearing, the evening breeze from the ajar window caressing my skin. His hand found my hearing aid as he struggled with his belt from behind and before I could react he ripped it out. The sudden silence was violent. The ringing in my inner ear exploded, almost blinding. Ragged sobs left my lips as my fingers clumsily reached back to push off him, trying to signify to him that I was in so much pain. “Kiel please stop- “ But he pinned my wrist above my head with one hand, ignoring the frantic movement of my body. His other hand smacked me roughly against my body before he grabbed the bruised skin. My breath came out in short, sharp gasps. “After this,” he snarled as he forced himself into me. I let out a strangled scream, tears streamed down my cheeks just as pain exploded sharp and sudden between my legs. “you won't even think of letting another man touch you “ I shook my head, my lips trembling so much from crying to utter a word. With my head down, my hands pinned and legs crushed under his weight, I sobbed as he f****d me, thrusting hard and merciless into me from behind. I cried out each unbearable second, but the sound was lost to my own ringing ears. Each time I tried to shove him off, he would slap the skin below my waist, hard enough to numb me into silence. “Look at you,” he spat. “Weak, useless.” His thrust was rough, punishing, hard. “Daemon must be laughing at me. I'm sure everyone must be.” Tears streamed down my cheeks, down my chin, wetting the sheets below me. I hated that part of my body still responded- I despised it so much. That little traitorous spark of sensation that mixed pleasure and agony because my nerves never knew the difference. Because the only time Kiel ever touched me was like this. I thought of how he was with Ruby. How gentle and careful he used to hold her like glass and kiss her like he worshipped her existence. He had never looked at me that way. And yet I still loved him. Kiel groaning snapped me from my thoughts. His grip tightened around my hip, and with one final thrust, our bodies shuddered in sync. A chilling feeling clutched at my stomach as he finished inside me without hesitation, before collapsing forward. Immediately, he rolled off me like he was escaping something rotten. I lay there, shaking, ribs aching, throat burning, my dress hung in tatters around my body. Turning slightly, with tear rimmed eyes, I watched him breathing hard as he grabbed the remains of my dress, wiped himself clean with it like it meant nothing and then threw the stained fabric at me. A second after, he picked my hearing aid and tossed it onto the bed like an afterthought. Silence ensued as he buckled his pants while I sat up, pushing my weight back onto the bed as I wore my aid. “My medicine- “ I hesitantly whispered, touching the ringing side of my head where the device had been torn free from. “Ear- ringing. Please.” If he heard me, he did a good job of acting like he didn't, instead, continued dressing up. Shutting my eyes, my hands bunching the sheets around me, I sighed. “Kiel. Please.” He paused, but then, without looking at me, he headed into the bathroom where it was. I was still curled on the bed, wiping my tears before he came back, when I heard his ringtone vibrate faintly through the mattress. My lungs froze. It was a ringtone I hadn't heard in almost three years- one he used for only one person. Ruby, my stepsister and his true love. The door to the bathroom was thrown open and Kiel, looking more ecstatic than he's ever looked since 4 years of our marriage, headed for the phone, my medicine missing in his grip. I watched his expression change, his voice softening, a light I had never seen in his eyes for a while return such that it made my heart clench knowing it wasn't because of me. At that moment I didn't know whether to be relieved that Ruby was alive all this time or dread the aftermath of her return After a while, as he put the phone down, his expression hardened, my stomach twisted. “That was Ruby,” his eyes didn't meet mine, the tone of his voice was flat. “She's back.” I didn't give him the reaction he wanted as he looked up at me, but inside, it felt like my heart had been stabbed with a silver dagger and I was being strangled. “She's at the northern border and I'm going to get her- “ “And when you do?” I quietly asked as I watched him pick up keys to his vehicle. He chuckled as he turned to me, his stare filled with disgust and hatred. “Do not be quick to forget Rivette that you’re the reason that she disappeared ! You killed her! You knew that if she wasn't in the picture I would never have agreed to this union.” I've heard much more hurtful words from him, but I still recoiled as if I had been slapped. He stepped closer, towering over me where I sat shaking on the bed. “I'm ending this,” his voice was cold as his dead pan eyes that seemed to have no life in them. “Whether we had a sacred mate bond or not, it was all a lie. A big mistake. The Moon goddess has brought Ruby back into my life, and not even you will stop me- again.“ I shook my head, tears filling my eyes but he laughed into my face, as though he revelled at the sight of me collapsing internally. “What did you think? A weak, barren woman who can't even stand without wobbling- a wolf-less w***e who can't hear half a sentence without those ugly aids? That for even a second I would consider you- you must be a joke.“ And with that he turned and walked out. The door slammed so hard the window rattled. I fell back against the bed in distress, curling forward, as my arms wrapped around myself as I sobbed uncontrollably until my breaths turned sharp and withdrawn, like I was spiralling. My head felt heavy and despite not having eaten, I felt like throwing up. Just as I fell into a deep thought of what was to become of my fate, a sharp buzz vibrated against my body. I blink as my phone lit up in the dim room. It was a message. Dr. Callista: Rivette, the test results are in. The pregnant test came back positive. You're four weeks pregnant! Call me as soon as you leave the soiree. My entire world stopped, everything else but the text in front of me blurring as my breath hitched, a harsh, broken sound.
