The Good Life

I open my eyes and i'm immediately in agonizing pain all over my body. I look around and all i can see is darkness, and all i can smell is smoke clouding the air around me. I try to move and thats when i realize that i'm trapped underneath something. I am too weak to free myself. I start to cry out for help but no one answers. It feels like hours have passed and i start to feel numb from the pain, i close my eyes remembering the morning before this tragic night. Earlier That Day I woke up extra early this morning because it was my birthday. I was turning 10 this year and that meant i was finally going to start my training. I got up and made my bed , grabbed my shower stuff and headed for the bathroom. I walked quitly through the hallway to not wake anybody up as it was only 5:30 am. Our house is rather large even though it’s just my parents and I who live here. We got the biggest house in our town because my father is the leader and Alpha of our wolf pack. We are the Blood Orange Pack and my father ran this pack tremendously. We had strong warriors and we had very strict rules against violence. We only fought if it came down to it. We had many Allies as we were a very trusted pack. My father, Alpha Kendrick Castro and my mother, our packs Luna Beatrice Castro were great leaders. We never had any problems with anyone. My father trained all the warriors starting from the age of ten. I’m so excited to start my training today. I smile from ear to ear as I enter the bathroom. After my shower I braided my hair and put on my dress my mother and I specially picked out for today. And smiled in the mirror as I started off towards my parents room. I knock twice before entering and my parents were beautifully sleeping in each others arms, I couldn’t wait for the day that I found my fated mate. I crawled up and snuggled up in between the two of them. They both smiled and squeezed me tightly wishing me a happy birthday. We all got up and headed downstairs and my mother started to make me my birthday breakfast. I still had to attend school today even though it was my birthday. School is mandatory here in our pack. We must learn everyday to protect ourselves and family. My father comes around and kisses the top of my head and then goes and gives my mother a sloppy kiss on the lips and he says his goodbyes as he heads off to work. We had a big day planned after school ended for the three of us to spend time together for my birthday. My mother stays at home and handles all her Luna duties from home unless needed elsewhere. I hurried up and ate my breakfast and headed off to school. We live in a small town in the outskirts of Ohio. The town is made up of around 600 people and we are all part of the pack. Our town is surrounded by trees and we have warriors standing at the boarder to protect us if needed. I walk to and from school everyday because I love to watch the sunrise. Nature is my favorite thing about this world. Unfortunately today it’s very cloudy and dark. We are supposed to get heavy rain and thunderstorms today, but I also love the rain so it makes the day even better. I get to school and the first few hours go by quickly, all the students and teachers greeting me by saying “happy birthday” is nothing new. Everyone felt obligated to talk to me because I was the daughter of the alpha. I only had a few close friends that I actually hung out with and care about. After lunch we do training and today was my first day so I was ecstatic. I got paired up with another classmate who had just turned ten a few days prior so we both studied and practiced for the first day. We don’t get to practice real fighting until we turn 16 when our wolfs come in and can protect and heal us if we were toget injured. The rest of the school day was a blur. As I was walking home I noticed my father and some warriors running towards the boarders and I just brushed it off because it could just be a visitor form another pack.
