Weapon Of Flesh

1009 Words
Okay my friend, let's take a second and evaluate who we are dealing with. Thomas was never a man. He was always made out to be a weapon, a lethal weapon that had a consciousness of its own and was capable of slaying scores of people on a moment's notice. His emotions and his needs were never the centers of focus for the agency he used to work for. He was brainwashed as soon as he entered the White Feather program and all his memories were erased. A watch was implanted in Thomas's hand. He was provided with a personal assistant in the form of artificial intelligence. The assistant was named 'Zeus'. The watch operated on a nuclear cell and could perform wonders. Thomas would ask for a gun from his watch assistant and it would be spawned. Before he was sent into the field, Thomas had to master the oldest forms of martial arts. He learned Kalari from eighteenth-century India (yes, he traveled back in time), kung fu in the Shaolin temple in the sixteenth century, and Krav Maga from the 1950s. He was trained to be an absolute aimbot, spending days at a time in his aim training. And what emerged was not a soldier, nor was it some savior. In fact, it was not even human. What emerged from this torture was a tool, a tool for people in power positions to manipulate the world as they saw fit. The government wanted to get rid of the terrorists because the government believed that they had the right to decide what was right and what was wrong. They thought the earth was safe and sound as long as they were in power. For the better part of two centuries, Thomas was sent into several timelines and he took down many mafias and terrorist organizations, each time becoming more efficient with his ways of killing. Each time when he came back to his primary world, his body reset to the twenty-one-year-old form, but his mind couldn't forget the things he did. And the thing about humans is, if you give them a purpose and make them believe that it is worth dying for, they will do things far beyond our imagination and live with it, thinking that it was their duty. It drives them mad, but they have to stay strong, for something as arguable as the existence of God. Thomas had been by far the best agent in the agency, which meant he had performed far more monstrous acts than his peers and was a force to be reckoned with. But in reality, he was just a child, tied up and confused about the working of the world. He had no memories to guide him, only the lessons taught to him from people with an agenda. To him, there were no people. There were only things to be manipulated so that they could be used for the agency's good. So when he fell for a woman for the first time, he was f****d. He was terrified and thought something was wrong with him. He told the agency right away about this, and they told him that she was trying to get inside him and had to be eliminated immediately when all the girl wanted to do was to make Thomas see that the world was more than just violence. So Thomas killed her, and her family, in case they were enemies too. But as Thomas grew older, he started to understand. The next time he felt a strong attraction towards a girl, he decided to not trouble the agency and just see where it all goes. It was undoubtedly the most pleasant part of his life so far. For the first time, he had made intimate contact with another human being. He was a new man, a man who realized that besides the brain, he also had a heart. And the thing about knowledge is, the more you know, the more you become sad. He started to understand the deeds that he had done all the people he killed started to haunt him. But there was the glimmer of hope in the form of a woman who was determined to never leave his side. And just when he was thinking about retiring from his job and settling down with the love of his life, Amanda slit his throat. The woman he had chosen, the one for whom he had decided to throw everything away and make a fresh start, killed him. If not for the rapid healing from the nuclear cell-powered watch, Thomas would never have been able to get back up and catch her in between a heartbreaking rant with the guy she had been cheating on him with. He ended her quickly, out of love. But she never really died. She was to forever haunt him inside his head, just like the hundreds of other bodies he had laid to rest in pieces. And THIS little part right here, these few minutes in his centuries-long life, these were the moments that had a real impact on his mind. Thomas was introduced to betrayal in the worst way possible. But he sucked it up like he was told to and went on one more mission. That was where he stumbled upon a book from another timeline. As he read along the diary, the dead protagonist slowly took over a part of his mind and was alive again. For some time, Thomas tried to get rid of him. But as his training had taught him, he decided to use it for his benefit. Sick of the life of violence, Thomas finally retired after this mission and was sent to ancient China, which he believed was a beautiful place. He drank a lot to suppress the advice Raghav was trying to give him. He couldn't sleep because as soon as he lied down, the shadows came rushing onto him.  And just as he was about to find peace among the monks, fate revealed that it had other plans.
