Today is Emery's first day at the library and he's been surprisingly great. I gave him a shelf to restock while I stick price tags on the books for sale as waited for the delivery truck. Maggie came up to me as she ate a slice of cake Sarah brought her since it was Sarah's birthday Sunday.
"The new kid is kinda cute. Where did you find him?" She asked me
"I didn't find him, he's a friend of mind kinda. He dates Kaleb's best friend" I said to her as I wrote the price of 'The Lion and the Jewel'.
"Oh, he's gay. God, why do all handsome men have to be gay? I mean except yours of course" She whined
"Not all handsome men are gay, you're just attracted to the handsome men that are gay," I said laughing
"Whatever. Do you think the delivery guy is single?" S
