Brook left, and Sarah gestured to Oliver, invitingly smiling, "Mr. Lowell, could we have a private conversation?"
After exchanging greetings with Flora, Oliver followed Sarah to a quieter corner.
Seeing that no one was around, Sarah spoke softly, "Mr. Lowell, I want to thank you for the wild ginseng. Our master has improved significantly both in spirit and health after taking it."
Oliver smiled and nodded. He hadn't noticed any issues with Mr. Palmer during their previous encounter, but he speculated that wealthy people tended to use luxurious supplements for maintenance.
"But there's another matter troubling me," Sarah continued. "Although our elderly gentleman is in good health both physically and mentally, he has been having recurrent nightmares lately, and everything seems to go wrong. Even after hospital examinations, nothing unusual is found. I was wondering if you could spare some time to help figure out if there's any peculiar illness affecting him."
Sarah knew Oliver was a doctor. Although she didn't know much about his medical skills, she had a sense from their last meeting that Oliver was extraordinary. She had been contemplating how to find him for consultation, and unexpectedly, they met here.
Oliver readily agreed, "Give me the address, and I'll come over in the next few days."
After providing her address and contact information, Sarah curiously asked Oliver, "Mr. Lowell, why were you so confident about entering the club when talking to the security? If I hadn't appeared suddenly and the security didn't let you in, would you have forcibly entered?"
Oliver chuckled and pointed to the large "Palmer" characters on the wall of the hall, explaining, "Just because of this word! When I met Mr. Palmer last time, the same font 'Palmer' was embroidered on the cuff of his clothes. He mentioned that if I ever needed anything in Blokoord, I should contact him. So, I was sure I could get in."
Sarah smiled approvingly at Oliver, saying, "Mr. Lowell, you have sharp thinking and attention to detail, truly admirable. In the future, whether it's dining, entertainment, or anything you desire within the Palmer family's territory, just give orders as if it were your own home. If anyone asks, tell them you are mine."
The weight of Sarah's words was no less than several million in cash. Considering the Palmer family's extensive business in various industries, from dining and entertainment to real estate and property, Oliver would enjoy these privileges for free with just this statement.
However, Oliver didn't seem to care at all. He grinned mischievously, looking at Sarah and teasing, "I'm already yours, but how come I haven't gained anything yet..."
He raised his eyebrows at Sarah playfully.
Sarah couldn't possibly miss the flirtatious undertones in Oliver's words. However, she didn't mind. Smiling seductively, she retorted, "What do you want?"
As she said this, Sarah's eyes were alluring, and her gaze was enchanting. A mature woman like Sarah, not yet thirty, possessed a lethal charm for men.
Oliver couldn't help himself from teasing Sarah, but he didn't expect her to turn the tables and ask him a question. Feeling a bit embarrassed, he remained silent.
Seeing Oliver's hesitation, Sarah smiled and gently brushed off a strand of hair from his shoulder, saying, "Silly little boy! No more joking around with me. Take some time to visit our shopping mall and get yourself some decent clothes. You're handsome. There's no need to make yourself look messy. Now, go find your Blokoord’s ice beauty. She's probably getting impatient."
Oliver chuckled and greeted Sarah before turning to find Flora, who seemed a bit off when he approached. Flora asked him, "Are you close with Sarah?"
With a smug expression, Oliver replied, "Jealous, are you?"
Flora let out a cold snort, "Jealous because of you? Are you out of your mind? Even if you were the only man left in all of Blokoord, I still wouldn't..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Flora immediately stopped herself, appearing somewhat annoyed, and changed the subject, "I just wanted to tell you, don't act like a mosquito seeing blood when you encounter a beauty. Do you know who she is and her relationship with Mr. Palmer?"
Oliver was genuinely unaware, and he quickly asked, "What's the relationship?"
Flora cast a disdainful look at Oliver and said impatiently, "Be careful not to get burned. She's Mr. Palmer's woman!"
"What?" Oliver exclaimed in surprise. He couldn't believe that Sarah was Mr. Palmer's woman. It didn't seem likely. He mumbled to himself, "Mr. Palmer is so old; can he handle that? No wonder he needs to buy wild ginseng..."
"What did you say?" Flora asked.
"Nothing, just talking nonsense!" Oliver brushed it off. Nevertheless, he still found it a bit hard to believe the nature of the relationship between the two. Despite their apparent intimacy, it seemed more like a familial bond than a romantic one.
Entering the restaurant, they saw the friends and relatives of the Carmen family surrounding Old Carmen, trying their best to please him.
Upon Flora and Oliver's entrance, the atmosphere instantly soured, and the faces of the Carmen family members turned unfriendly.
Ignoring the stares, Flora greeted her grandfather and placed the nutritional supplements she brought on the gift table.
Old Carmen responded with a faint nod, showing indifference to Flora. He completely disregarded Oliver, the one who had saved his life.
Seeing Flora's gift, which was only nutritional supplements, her cousin Mona sneered and sarcastically remarked, "Flora, you've been managing Corewood for a few years now, but besides being a burden to the Carmen family, you haven't contributed anything. Today, with such a big event for grandpa, you only brought a couple of cheap nutritional supplements. Do you still see grandpa and the Carmen family in your eyes? What are you saving all that money for? Spending it on some wild man?"
Mona's words were immediately followed by another relative chiming in, "Exactly! Look at what Mona and her boyfriend brought. The best bird's nest from Siam, and the finest shark fin from Japan..."
The crowd started to berate Flora, each adding their own criticisms.
Flora wanted to explain that she also wished to buy valuable gifts for her grandfather, but financial constraints didn't permit it. She even owed Oliver a million, and if he asked for repayment, she might have to sell her house.
But Flora knew that explaining to them was futile because no one would believe her words.
Seeing Flora's silence, Mona cast a disdainful glance at Oliver and then turned to Old Carmen, saying, "Grandpa, there's something I shouldn't bring up on such a happy occasion, but if I don't say it now, I fear some people will become more and more out of line. By then, not only will our Carmen family's reputation be damaged, but we might become the laughingstock of Blokoord."
