Chapter 1
As Amelia stepped out from the airport, her whole head felt like a balloon. Like, a really cheap balloon that would burst easily if it wasn't protected. In the history of her family, there had never being any one who had gone abroad, and here she was about to enter Stanford High School. It seemed like a dream to her and that was why she was so light headed.
She quickly called a cab who drove her down to Stanford High School. Seeing as she had no relative here, it was rather advisable for her to stay in the dormitory rather than looking for a lodge outside of the school.
You know when I said Amelia's head felt like a cheap balloon? Immediately she entered the school compound, the balloon quality had so reduced that if there was any word harsher than cheap, it would be used. She gaped, gawked and gaped again. Infact, she made people look at her like someone who was lost or even mad. But at this point, the only people who really understood how Amelia felt were me and you, my lovely reader!
It was in this state of gawking and staring that Amelia chances upon the reigning queen of Stanford High School, Barnes Lola. Looking at Lola, you would know that she had her whole life ahead of her. Lola had really long as well as wavy blonde hair and she looked like someone who pooped and had people wipe up her butts. Yeah, that was the kind of diva Lola looked like.
On a regular day, Lola was never close with any of her classmates apart from her minions, Hailey and Barbara. But today's detachment was worse because she had just gotten her first advertisement gig and she was expected to make a video of herself. While making this video, our Nigerian Amelia, unknowingly gaped her way into spoiling Lola's video. And my readers, Lola didn't take that likely.
"Who the hell are you?" Lola asked as she stared daggers at Amelia.
At this point, Amelia stopped gaping and stared down at the pretty blond who stood in front of her.
"Hi, I'm Amelia. I transferred here from Nigeria and it's really nice to meet you" Amelia burst out, obviously oblivious to Lola's eyes.
The silence that followed her introduction was so thick that a knife wouldn't do justice to slicing it. Save for Hailey and Barbara's condescending laughter, the thick silence would have continued. It was then Amelia's turn to stare down at the two minions.
"What are you two laughing about? Do I look funny to you?" Amelia asked, clearly not taking their laughter calmly.
"No my darling, you do not look funny. But then again you will by the time your video gets showcased on the Buzz", Barbara replied, still laughing.
Amelia didn't really have time to think about what in the world "The Buzz" was when she turned around and everywhere she looked, there were phone camera's all around. Just like back home in Nigeria, it looked like they were taking videos of her which they would edit later and post on their various feeds.
"Hey you, you think I'm scared of you and your little minions who are taking videos of me? It's going to take much more than that to scare me" Amelia blurted out, although it was visible that she was scared.
One of the minions, my dear readers, Hailey to be precise, was about to spit out a retort when someone came and dragged Amelia out of their views.
BUT WHO DRAGGED AMELIA AND FOR WHAT REASON WAS SHE DRAGGED? FIND OUT IN THE NEXT CHAPTER.
