REGRETS

"Baby! Come on, I need hug!" She says as she lies in the bed, sprawled out and arms held up in midair. The other girl chuckles at the antics of her lover. "But I need to go..." She gives the girl in bed a pout as she kisses her lips. "But I promise to make it up to you on my day off, how about that?" She says and pinched her nose which the other girl scrunched. "K, Bella." was her only response. And she knows that she is upset, she clicked her tongue at her childishness, slowly her head is heating up due to irritation. This has been their set up for almost three months now. She adjusts her dress and looked at the mirror one last time and without any word uttered, she left their apartment and her lover sulking. She let out a sigh as the elevator opened. I'm getting tired of this set up, really. "Morning, Doc." Bella smiles and nodded at the nurse and headed straight to her office. She took the a freshly washed lab coat and her stethoscope as she hangs it around her neck. She sighs. Well, just another day. Meanwhile... Robin's POV "Well, that went... well" I say as I get up from bed and made my way to the kitchen. So many thoughts are flooding my mind. This has been what it is like lately. Kind of a push and pull relationship. When did this started? When was this relationship became distant? I don't know. I poured a glass of water and drank it all in one go. Well, guess I should go. "Ey boss! You're here early!" Stacy, my bartender and of course my friend, approached me. I frowned "Why? Afraid I might catch ya'll slacking?" I asked which she returned with a smack at the back of my head. I flinched at the contact and glared at her. "You're not supposed to be here at this hour. Don't you have places to be?" She asked. I stopped and think for a moment. "Nope." I say. It's her turn to frown at me. "Isn't today your anniversary?" She asked. I clicked my tongue and did not bother to answer. She tends to ask so many questions and I don't have the mood to answer. I made my way to my office upstairs and left her behind, confused. As what I've said, I am not in the mood right now. I opened the door to my office and immediately saw our picture together, framed and hanged on the wall. I smiled bitterly. Anniversary, huh. I lay on the couch, getting comfortable as my mind wander off. Today was supposed to be our day, three years today was the happiest day of my life. I was so happy; we were so happy. She finally agreed to be mine, I smiled at the memory. ----------- Flashback! "Here's your daily Caramel Macchiato, especially brewed for Miss, soon to be Mrs. Bella Robin Gray!" I say cheerfully as I approached the love of my life on the parking lot. This is where we always meet. She would always wait for me here until I arrive. You know, she's always been early to go to school. She smiles and reached for the coffee in my hand. "'morning to you too, dork." She says as she clings to my arms and we started walking to her class. This has been our daily routine ever since she agreed for me to court her. (Finally!) I would always walk her to her department which is slightly far from mine, but what's the distance got to do to stop me to be with my Bella? Nothing. "Sooo, does Eve finally know about us? I mean me, courting you?" I asked. She hummed and nodded yes to me. "It's kind of obvious, anyway. It's not that hard to figure it out, given the fact that I don't just go with someone I do not like or someone for that matter." My heart did the backflip thing hearing what she said. I can't get over the fact that she likes me. "You're smiling like an idiot." She said which made me giggled. I don't usually giggle because I thought that was so gayish and childish but oh well, the things that only her can make me do. "I'll pick you up for lunch later. Eve could tag along." I said and looked over Bella's shoulder. Eve waved at me which I waved back. Bella turned around to look at her best friend for a second then returned her gaze at me. "She'll be fine being alone." She said which made Eve groaned in disagreement. I chuckled. I shuffled her hair which she does not really like at all but let me keep doing it because I do like it and I thought her expressions are adorable. "Later love, I love you! Bye, Eve." I kissed Bella's cheek then turned around to leave. --------------- "How are you, lover boy?" My best friend, Sean teased as I took my sit beside him. I grimaced at what he said. "First off, I'm not a boy. And second, Please I'm asking you one last time, get your feet off my desk, you dumbass!" I said as I glared at him. He raised his both hand ins surrender. I sighed. "Hope this class would be over soon. If it's not for Bella, I wouldn't be even here" I said in annoyance. I was not really fond of being in the University, it disgusts me. I was not the type of person who goes to school, study and sit. Not until I fell in love with Bella. Everything went upside down. She changed me without me even noticing it, for the better of course. I started attending classes and actually listening to the lesson. Well, the things I do for love. I smiled "You're smiling like an idiot." Sean commented. "You're the second person who told me that today." I said, still smiling. "And certainly, will not be the last one." ------------ "Hey, Bella! And Eve?" I ask as she appeared behind Bella, she waved at me and took the sit in front of me. Bella rolled her eyes and sat next to me. "You said I could tag along, so I tagged." She said and started looking at the menu right after she stuck her tongue at Bella. I chuckled, childish. I looked at Bella. "Hi." I kind of whispered which was not really intended but it came out that way anyway. She smiled and said Hi back. "Gosh! I'm having second thoughts as to why I tagged along. Stop staring at each other!" Eve threw a crumpled tissue paper at us. Bella threw a glare at Eve. "Leave then." Bella said. "Uh nope. Free meals are sacred to me." She said sticking her tongue once again. I shook my head at the two of them bickering. "Sooo, I'm kind of free this afternoon. Are you?" I asked Bella. She shook her head and continued to look at the menu. I clicked my tongue. "That's a shame. I was gonna ask you out on a date." I pouted. She didn't see that but Eve did and squeals like a child. I jumped a little bit and looked at her. Bella looked at her too, confused as to why Eve squealed. "Are you an i***t?" Bella asked "Oh! you didn't see her cute face?" Bella shook her head and looked at me. I shrugged and didn't mind them. Eve tends to be exaggerating at times. I'm used to it; she finds me adorable which Bella did not like at all. "I just pouted, Eve. Don't exaggerate." I say, laughing it off. Bella didn't say anything. Fast forward.... We are currently walking at the shore late at night, because she said, she felt like doing this with me right at the moment. Weird, she's usually asleep at this hour. "Bella, you're awfully quiet. Is there something bothering you?" I asked and held her hand. She stopped in her tracks and looked down. She mumbled something and I did not understand a bit so I had to ask her once again. "I said, I love you and I want to be your girlfriend already." She said looking straight into my eyes. I kept staring at her for a while. I think my head is spinning at her revelation. Wait... What? "That's bothering you?" Was all I could say. She rolled her eyes at me. "i***t, really. I just confessed and that's all you could say?" Irritation is evident in her voice. Her confession is slowly sinking in. My eyes literally went wide and my smile reached my ear, I wouldn't be surprised if that would rip my face in half. I quickly hugged her and spin us around, she squeals. "Put me down, you dumbass!" She said as she keeps on hitting my shoulder. I did as I was told. I cupped her face and slowly leaned in for a kiss, she didn't move away or anything so I finally kissed her full on lips. We stayed like that for a while, savoring the moment. My heart was beating so loud I'm afraid Bella could hear it. ------------ End of Flashback! I caught myself smiling while memories came flooding in my mind. I sighed and fished my phone out of my pocket. Dialing a number, I sighed yet again. "Hey loverboy---" I didn't let him finished. "Cancel everything for today." I told him "Wai—what, why?!" He asks. I pinched the bridge of my nose and squeezed my eyes shot, "Well, she's in duty. Guess she forgot about today." I said sighing. "Thought it's her day off?" He asked again. I heard some shuffling at the other line and some whispers. "Emergency call. Something came up, I guess." "Robin, where are you?" Someone said on the other line. Hmm so they are together. "Eve." I said "Yeah, where are you?" She repeated. "My office?" I answered not sure as to why she was asking. "Which one? The club?" I just hummed and didn't say anything else. "We'll be there. Stay where you are." Then the phone call ended. I looked at the screen and whispered Okay. I let my phone rest on my chest as I closed my eyes. Sleepless nights finally over powering my body. I'm tired. ---------- "Happy Birthday, Love!" I smiled as Bella gave me a peck on my lips and handed me her gift. I smiled at her and at the people at her back. Our friends, mom and dad. My heart fluttered at my Fiancé's surprise. She handed me a small gift bag which has a small box inside. I looked at her and asked her what's inside. She smiled widely and told me to open it. So I did. I couldn't contain the smile that is slowly creeping through my face as I look at the ring she has given me. It's a simple yet elegant ring with a small diamond on top. "Baby..." I whispered. I was speechless. When I looked at her again, her eyes is watery due to the tears that's already building up. She cupped my face and pull me closer to hers. "Finally got you our engagement ring. I love you so much, Robin. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." She whispered. My tears began to fall as I hugged her tight. I heard cheering in the background but I was too focused at Bella and what I am feeling right now. I whispered "Thank you" and kissed her cheek. She took the ring from me and put in my ring finger. She then kissed me on my lips as we hug again. I feel so complete... "Wake up!" And then I opened my eyes. I sighed, even in my dreams, memories are haunting me. "Hi, Eve." --------------- A month has passed... Third POV "Doc, let me carry that for you." A handsome young man offered Doc. Bella a hand at carrying her things. Bella said thank you and let him carry it. They are walking towards the hospital's parking lot as they talk on their way, mostly about medical stuff. Meanwhile, a certain pair of blue orbs is now quietly watching the two doctors converse like an old friend catching up. She can't deny the feeling of jealousy starting to build up inside her so she walk towards the two and eventually interrupting their talk. "I could carry her things, thank you for your help Doc...?" Robin said as she look at the handsome faced man. He smiled at her and gave Bella's things to her. "Hi! I'm Rayleigh. You can call me Ray." He offers his hand at Robin which she took and gave him a firm handshake. Bella noticed the tension that Robin has been giving. And irritation is slowly taking over her. "Robin. Nice to meet you, doc." Robin did not bother introducing herself as Bella's partner thinking that she must have told Ray about them, which Bella did not. Not yet. "Okay. Thank you, Doc. We'll be going now." Bella said and took Robin's hand and literally dragged her towards their car. It's obvious that Bella is mad at her and for what reason? Robin didn't know or at least didn't acknowledge. Bella opened the passenger seat and get inside not waiting for Robin. She shut the door immediately. Robin shook her head and put Bella's things at the back of her car. Once she was inside her car, Bella did not hesitate to show her irritation at her. "What was that?" She asked, facing Robin which the latter only shrugged. "Nothing? I was helping you and besides I was supposed to be the one carrying your things but..." She trailed off, "When will you let me inside the hospital?" She asked carefully, afraid that she might get the silent treatment from her wife. Wife... She's still my wife, right? Robin thought. "I don't get why you're being mad, Bella." She continued when Bella did not say a thing. Bella thought for a moment. Yeah, why was I so mad? "I know you, Robin. I'm irritated at the thought that you're being jealous at him." Bella said. Robin only smiled for a moment. Am I not allowed to get jealous? I didn't make a scene, didn't I? "What's wrong with me being jealous?" Robin asked, sighing in defeat. How many times this scenario has happened? How many times did they fight over her jealousy? "I don't like it when you are, Robin! You're so childish." Bella raised her voice at her. Robin scoffed "I'm only jealous because I know I can easily be replaced." That made Bella's bubble popped. "I married you, didn't I? I'm giving you the rest of my life, now if this is what I get every day, then I don't want it." Bella said not minding that her words hurt Robin. Well, it was intended for her to be hurt. Robin gripped the steering wheel to hard; her knuckles became white. "What? You're going to leave me?" Robin spat. "Yes, I will." Robin remained silent. I'm really getting tired of this... Bella thought.
