Chapter 64

Jake’s POV

We are in the car on our way home. Xabert is driving and I am sitting on the passenger seat. We are going to his house. We are living together from last week.

Throughout the drive his one hand was holding my hand. He looked happy and relaxed now. His eyebrows are now relaxed and not furrowed. And he constantly has a smile on his handsome face. The ring on his finger is shinning from the city lights. His house is quite far from my house as it was closer to the restaurant but he insisted for us to go to his home because the ring he bought for me and wants me to wear is in his house.

He glanced at me every now and then and everytime he does that his contagious smile here's bigger which makes me smile too. We have been together for almost six years now but I still fell shy when he looks straight in my eyes. His blue eyes always makes me drown in them.

I was so tired from the hectic day that I didn't realized when I dozed off. But when I woke up from someone calling my name I realized it was Xabert. He was waking me up. I looked around confused but I realized we were already in front of the house.

I unclasped my seat belt and went out of the car and so did Xabert.

Before entering the house I hold Xabert's hand he get his attention because I still have something I wanted him to know.

"Xabert I want to tell you something", I told him.

"Yeah tell me I'm all ears, first let's go inside?" He said.

"Ok well, okay", as then he unlocked the door. And as we got entered, I sat on the couch. He bought me a glass of water.

"Here have some water first, you look stressed." He knew me after all.

Then he sat besides me and held the free hand of mine.

"Now tell me what you want to share," he asked.

"See you know that we are already engaged and believe me I am as happy as you are but can we please not rush the weeding? Is it okay if we get married after about a year? I have some new projects for my restaurant. I want to expand the restaurant chain in another countries. And just now I got a chance to do it. I promise I will prepone the wedding if it is done earlier. And even if it doesn't happen in a year then we will still get married. Is that fine with you?" I shared my thoughts with him in a breath.

"One year is a long time, I don't think I can wait that much to make you my wife. But I know that too that only you is what I want and who I want to be with. So even if it is a year I can wait. I can wait for you but I would love it if it is done earlier than that. I love you" he put his around my shoulder and said.

I snuggled closer or him and said, " god knows how scared I was, but I'm happy that you understand me. It has always been my dream to internationalise my restaurants. And you know it was also what my dad wanted to achieve. I think this way I can make him somewhat proud of me and also maybe he will be happy seeing me fulfilling his dreams." I told him.

He hugged me closer and said, "I will always support your dreams as best as I can. But I think we should at least now tell our families about us getting engaged. My mom loves you. Let's have a formal engagement party, I will give you your ring then. Is that good with you?"

"Tomorrow is thrusday the restaurant is off. Let's go and meet your family tomorrow. We can tell them then. And also I've read the email from the chef remember it is after too weeks. We can hold the engagement party when I am back. What's say?" I said.

"Ill inform my mom. Let's go there at lunch." He said.

"Done."

He then pull me on his lap and wrapped his hands around me and then he put his Chin on my shoulder near my neck and kissed my jaw line softly. " You think we should get ready for the bed now?"

"Ah! I'm so tired. Doing all the decoration and that Gumbo I now smells like that. I should shower but I'm exhausted." I exclaimed.

"Oh my lady, would you give me the honor to clean you up?" He joked.

"Oh would you do that", I said and winked at him.

He lifted me up from the couch on his arms and started going towards the bedroom.
