Catalina
Bianca was still acting indifferent towards Luciano. I really wanted to make sure he was okay. He was such a good baby.
"You look happy," Celina said.
"Well, he is worth being happy for," I said.
"I should take a picture of you two,"
"No, don't," I was too late. Celina had already snapped a picture of us.
"Pretending to be his mom when his mother is in the other room is low even for you," Bianca hissed.
"Well, he was hungry," I said.
"Then, tell me," she came over took Luciano from me, and went to her room.
"Can you tell the servants to keep an eye on her?" I told Celina
"Of course,"
"Thank you," I went back to my room to take a shower.
"You hardly sleep," Adriano remarked.
"Luciano keeps me up," I said.
"You are very good with him," Adriano said.
"He is so cute and lovable,"
"He is handsome,"
"Like you?" I questioned.
"Don't start," I laughed at him and began to take off my dress. "Wife, do you need any help?"
"No," I said.
"You sure, because I think I can help you out," Adriano moved closer to me. He slid his hand down my shoulder and over my breast.
"I was going to take a shower," I told him.
"Let's take a shower then," Adriano quickly picked me up and took me to the bathroom.
Thirty Minutes Later
"I have some news," Adriano said.
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"I think we have information about your mother,"
"Oh my god, really," I said.
"Yes, we found a few money transfers that happen regularly to someone in a small town in Brasil," Adriano explained. "It is too small to be a business investment but enough to make a living for someone."
"You think my mom is there," I said hastily. "Where?"
"We aren't sure but we will send our men and investigate more,"
"Thank you so much, Adriano, Thank you," I hugged him tightly. I was so close to finding out where my mother was.
Later that night, I heard Luciano crying. I went to check on him. He was alone and in the dark.
"Hey, I thought your mommy was going to stay with you," I picked him up and changed his diaper. I got him a bottle and sat with him to feed him. "Your okay."
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY SON!" Bianca shouted. She marched over to me and pushed me.
"Be careful, I almost dropped him," I told her.
"You shouldn't have him in the first place," she hissed. "Give him to me, now." She tried to take him from me but I wouldn't let him go. "GIVE ME MY SON."
"You are acting insane, Bianca, relax," I told her.
*SMACK*
She slapped me.
"BIANCA, RELAX," I yelled. Luciano began to cry again.
"What is going on in here?" Adriano stormed in. He took Luciano from me and rocked him until he stopped crying.
"She was keeping MY SON from me," Bianca accused.
"Adriano,"
"BOTH OF YOU STOP!" he took Luciano and went to our bedroom.
"You need to know your place, I am his mother and Adriano is his father, we don't need you," Bianca said as she stormed out of the baby's room.
"b***h," I whispered. I stayed in the chair trying to calm myself down. Adriano brought Luciano back as soon as he fell asleep.
"Catalina, I need you to stop picking fights with Bianca. She is barely reciprocating from giving birth to Luciano," Adriano scolded me.
"I didn't start this, he was crying and I came to check on him," I told him.
"Just let Bianca or one of the servants handle it, he is not your-," Adriano paused. I took a deep breath and walked out of the room hitting Adriano with my elbow as I walked by him.
He didn't say anything to me when he came back to our room. If he was angry at me he was displacing that anger. I wasn't going to just cave and forgive him either.
The Next Day
Adriano was avoiding me. Bianca was walking around trying to calm Luciano but she couldn't manage to.
"What is wrong with this stupid baby?" she said.
"Maybe he can sense you're a b***h," Vicente said.
"Vicente stop," I said. Bianca rolled her eyes and put Luciano on the couch. She walked away. God knows where she was going. I grabbed Luciano before he rolled off the couch.
"Hey little guy," I said. I rubbed my nose over his. "You are so cute."
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY SON!" Bianca came storming back into the living room. She had a drink in her hand which she threw to come to take Luciano away from me. "GIVE HIM TO ME." I did.
"Why is there so much shouting in my house, lately?" Adriano asked.
"Ask her? She needs to stay away from me and our son," Bianca said.
"Catalina, we spoke about this, leave Luciano to Bianca,"
"Even though she just dropped him on the couch where he could easily roll off and get hurt," I said.
"I would never," Bianca sobbed. "I was just getting some water and she thinks I am a bad mother."
"Water, sure," Vicente said softly.
"Catalina, just leave my son be," Adriano looked upset and drained.
"Fine," I said. I walked to the garden and tried to calm down.
I was walking back from my stroll in the garden and as I headed upstairs I heard laughing. I looked in the baby's room and saw Adriano and Bianca. They were looking at Luciano. He was asleep in his crib. They looked like the perfect family and I felt like now I was just in the way. It took Adriano forty minutes to come to our bedroom.
"Catalina," he said softly. I almost forgot how sweet his voice could be.
"Yes," I said politely.
"I am sorry about all this but my son, Luciano is okay, Bianca loves him," Adriano said.
"Okay, I learned my lesson. I know my place," I said.
"Good,"
"Are you going to get a paternity test?" I asked. He didn't answer quickly.
"I don't think there is any need for it now,"
"Okay,"
