Why Are They Always Pregnant

1056 Words
Catalina I was in shock. She stood there holding the sonogram pictures, smiling as if she knew how much this hurt. "Look what the cat dragged in," Vicente said to Bianca. "What is the meaning of this?" "What does it look like?" Bianca sneered. "Get out of my house," Vicente said. "I am not going anywhere until I speak to Adriano. He needs to take responsibility," she added. "And what, marry you? He is already married dumb s**t," Vicente snapped. "Why are they always pregnant?" "I am not leavin-," Vicente grabbed her arm and dragged her to the front door. "BYE," Vicente laughed. "Seriously, what is this drama? I really don't get what is going on." "You and me both. I think this is so unfair," I said. "If it is true," Vicente added. "You think she is lying?" I asked. "I wouldn't put it past a desperate woman like her," Vicente remarked. "I guess," I walked back to my new bedroom. Adriano had moved all my things back into his bedroom. We were working on our relationship and now this happened. A Few Hours Later "Catalina," Adriano's voice said softly. He came to my side and held my hands. "I know you know. Vicente told me Bianca was here." Hearing HER name from his lips, enraged me. "I want you to know there is no way that baby is mine. If there is even a baby." "How sure can you be?" I asked. "100%, I am always careful," he said. "Always," I raised my eyebrows. "Well, with you it's different and with her," he paused. "What is it?" I asked. "I know I don't remember what happened when I was blackout drunk but I am sure I didn't. I wouldn't," Adriano insisted. "So, there is a chance?" I asked again. "Catalina, even if it was mine, it wouldn't change anything. I am yours and nothing will change that," Adriano said. "This is too much too process," I said. He caressed my cheek and tucked my hair behind my ear. "I know, but please, don't lose hope, don't give up on me," he said. He kissed me softly and whispered, "I. (kiss) Love(kiss) you. Adriano pulled me over onto his lap. "I won't let this come between us." We found out today, Bianca really was pregnant. Adriano had his personal doctor examine Bianca. She was pregnant but we couldn't figure out who the father was until she gave birth. Adriano kept Bianca far away until her father came to pay him a visit. He told him that he had to take responsibility, but Adriano wouldn't let anyone bully him into anything. He kept him calm for months, but even Bianca demanded him to take some action. He let Bianca move into our home. She stayed far enough away. She was in so much discomfort. I tried to help her but she still saw me as the person standing in her way of happiness. Adriano never once went to see her. I did kind of feel bad for her. Our nights were still filled with lust and passion, even love. She had to see us happy while she was going through her pregnancy alone. Celina was even unsure of what to do. We thought of throwing Bianca a baby shower but Bianca didn't like any of our ideas. We got her a few gifts and set up a baby's room for her. I thought it was all weird, it felt like I was confirming the baby's paternity. I didn't care, I wanted to make this as easy as I could for everyone. "What are you thinking about?" Adriano asked. "Nothing much," I answered. Adriano had prepared a nice dinner for us. We were sitting under the stars. I took a sip of the wine and sighed. "Something is wrong," Adriano remarked. "Tell me." "I am trying to be strong. I am. This is hard," I admitted. "Yes, I understand," he said. "And I am sorry." "I love you," "I love you more," he said. I took another sip. "Do you ever think about having a baby," I sipped again and continued "with me." He smiled. "I need an heir," "You will have one soon." "You know that child won't ever have any claim on my business unless I say so," he said roughly. "Adriano," "Lina," he kissed the back of my hand and smiled again. "Our son, he will be everything to me," Several Months Later Bianca was going into labor. Adriano was busy at work. I called Vicente and he took me to the hospital. She was angry and upset that Adriano wasn't there. I tried calling him but I doubt even I could convince him to come here. I waited there all night and in the early morning. Luciano was born. He had dark hair and even darker eyes. I was nervous when I saw him. He looked like Adriano. I noticed a birth mark on his arm. It was a tiny brown mark. I hadn't seen it on Adriano but maybe it was a part of Bianca's traits. Bianca spent most of the day sleeping. She held Luciano once and never held him again. Vicente came back to bring me a change of clothes and some food. Adriano called but he didn't really want to go to the hospital. I fed Luciano and comforted him for a few hours. It was time for Bianca and Luciano to go home. Vicente and I took them. Bianca went straight to her room and went to bed. I looked at Luciano and he was wide awake. "Well, what do I do with you now?" I asked him. He slightly smiled and closed his eyes. "Guess your still tired too." I took him in my arms and went to his room. I sat on the rocking chair and sang to him. "You look like a natural," Adriano said. "I guess," I smiled. "He is so cute." Adriano didn't say anything. "Come meet him. Please." Adriano slowly approached us. "This is Luciano." Adriano looked amazed and shocked. I could even say proud. "Hold him." I gave Luciano to Adriano and watched as he embraced his possible son. "This is so strange," Adriano admitted. "But you look natural and will make a wonderful father," I told him. "Luciano," he whispered.
