Adriano
"Where are they!" I was getting annoyed waiting for the Santos family to show up.
"They are pulling up right now," my father said. I couldn't believe how quickly he had forgiven and forgotten.
"They need to hurry up," I hissed. Suddenly, the guards alert us to their arrival. Nicolau stared at me intently.
"I am so happy for this fortunate union we shall create," he said. "Que Deus abencoe esta uniao."
"It seems rather unfortunate to me and god will not be able to bless that which is damned," I said. Catalina suddenly walked in. She had heard what I said. Her face showed every emotion she was feeling. Mostly it was fear. I loved it. She looked like a scared little animal knowing it was in the presence of evil.
"Adriano," she said softly.
"Speak up!" I shouted.
"Adriano!" my mother shouted. "Don't be rude." I looked at my father and then at my mother.
"Catalina, say goodbye to your father," I said to her.
"WHAT!" she gasped.
"Did I stutter?" I said. "Let's go."
"Father," she pleaded.
"Just go," he responded. I had a maid take Catalina to her room. The wedding was tomorrow. I didn't bother to see her once. I went out and had a wild night. One last time. Even though I knew I would still have fun, I had to put that all aside for a bit and put all my efforts into my plan. My mother was making this wedding grander than I could ever imagine but I told her I didn't want that. I couldn't argue with her after everything she has been through I couldn't cause her any problems.
The next day, I woke up with one killer hangover.
"You are late, you're supposed to be dressed already," my mother whined. She pulled me to the bathroom and told me to take a shower. I took my sweet time. I didn't want to go through with this even if it was an intricate part of my plan. An hour later, I showed up downstairs. My mother scolded me the entire way to the cathedral. Everyone from my brother to my father looked disappointed in my lateness. I walked down the aisle and waited for my blushing bride. The violins announced the ceremony was starting. I first saw Nicolau and then I saw HER. Her hair was half up and the rest in curls that hit her shoulders. Her bare shoulders. Her white dress was an off-the-shoulder gown that hugged her body tightly. Her veil was cascaded down in layers to the floor. Her piercing grey eyes stared only at me. She was bold, I'll give her that. Her eyes never left mine. Catalina and her father walked towards me. I smirked. I was getting everything I wanted and perhaps even more. She was beautiful and from what her father said. She was untouched. That didn't matter to me but somewhere deep inside it made me relish in the thought that I would ruin her. She was finally given to me by her father. Her hands were trembling.
"Don't be afraid," I whispered.
"Adriano," she said softly. "This is everything I have ever wanted."
"Shame," her eyes became red. I knew she wanted to cry. The ceremony ended and we headed back home to attend our reception. I was sitting in the limo drinking my anger away. Catalina was staring at me. I knew she wanted me to speak to her but I didn't want to. The minute we arrived, I hurried out of the car and went inside, leaving Catalina in the car. She soon arrived inside and looked around for her family. They weren't invited to the reception. I made a strict order that no one from her family would step foot in my home, ever again. Catalina sat alone at a table. I watched her from the corner of my eyes. Everyone else was having fun. They were drinking and dancing. I don't think they even noticed HER.
Well, someone finally did. My brother walked up to HER and asked for a dance. I watched them head to the dance floor. It was a waltz. They were quite close. I didn't like it. I waited as long as I could and then went to interrupt their little dance.
"Leave," I said to my brother. I took Catalina in my arms and continued the dance. "You better not got any ideas about my brother."
"I wouldn't do that," she said timidly.
"Catalina, I want you to know I will make you suffer every day for the rest of your life," I told her as I brushed a hair behind her ear.
"I'm sorry," she whispered. I soon left her standing alone. I left the reception and went to my room. Catalina was to have a room as far away from mine as possible. I didn't want to have her near.
"Are you really going to leave your new bride alone tonight?" my father asked. I rolled my eyes.
"Tomorrow is a big day," I said. We were finalizing the contracts tomorrow. I would have everything the Santos family-owned. I would then kill everyone who belongs to that family. The Santo's blood will drip on my shoes as I shoot them down one by one.
"Well, sleep tight, I guess," my father said. He left and I began to think perhaps I shouldn't leave my new bride alone tonight. I walked down the hall towards her room. I didn't knock on her door. I just let myself in. She was sitting on the edge of the bed with her dress still on. Her hair was completely down now. She had taken her veil off. Her eyes quickly met mine.
"What do you want?" she asked. I looked her over.
"Take off your dress," I said. Her eyes widened. "Now!" She stood up quickly and began to unzip her dress. She was reluctant to let it drop from her body. "I won't ask again." She let go. I looked her over once more, now truly taking my time and seeing everything that was now mine. She was wearing sexy lacey lingerie. I was amused. I smirked and asked her to put her hands down. She was trying to cover herself from my preying eyes. I took my index finger and traced along her cheek and down to the top of her breasts. She began to get goosebumps.
"Don't worry, I wouldn't touch you even if you weren't a Santos, I told her. "You're not really my type, kid."
