Corey began to play with the big kid’s frequently.I'd still tag along and sit on a rusty bench and watch them play. I didn't like basketball because I found it somewhat intimidating. And I was such a softie ( as all the big kids on the court began to say) so I knew I couldn't handle the pressure of such a game. Besides that, 10 males running around a rectangular court trying to toss a ball through a horizontal hoop and net didn't seem exciting to me. Every time I sat on the rusty bench after school with a can of Dr Pepper to keep myself busy, I'd see a lady rush by the court. She was chubby, light skinned black and wore long dresses that almost swept the ground. The reason I noticed her was because she was always in such a hurry when passing by and she always passed with different coloured fabrics. I wondered what she used them for. One time, she passed by the court, she had a small blue cabin luggage bag on wheels and she didn't seem to be in a hurry. I decided to run after, since I wasn’t doing really anything anyway.
