Janey
January 2, Janey looked through the phone book to find a vet. After a few tries she found one that could squeeze in an appointment to look at Pumpkin.
Janey felt awkward holding on to Pumpkin, wrapped in a blanket, when she noticed that other cat owners had their pets in carriers.
A middle-aged woman with shoulder-length wavy, brown hair peppered with gray stuck her head out of the office and announced, “Janey and Pumpkin.”
Janey slowly got up, not to disturb Pumpkin, who was sleeping in her arms. “I’m Janey,” she said to the vet. “This is Pumpkin.” She opened the blanket exposing the sleeping kitty.
“C’mon in,” the vet motioned, welcoming Janey into her office. “Nice to meet you, Janey. I’m Doctor Lynette Billet.” Dr. Billet peeked at Pumpkin and
