Chapter Twenty Two May 1987 Beck Beck was so happy to get home from work. Janey was making a home cooked meal for him. He was stoked. He parked his Jeep in the driveway and ran up the stairs to his apartment to check on Morticia. He had already showered in the morning, so he was set to go. “Tish Girl, I’m home!” Beck said as he walked through the door. “Meow!” That doesn’t sound good. The “meow” wasn’t an ordinary “meow” – it was a cry for help. “Meow!” “Where are you girl?” Morticia wasn’t in her usual spot behind the couch. He looked all over the apartment and was surprised to find her in the bathroom, of all places. She peed behind the toilet. She never did that before. It was an obvious sign she was sick. He went to pick her up gently and found she was bleeding from her mouth.
