As tired as Tom was, sleep eluded him. His head was buzzing and it had settled into a dull ache. There was so much happening in his life – too much – and he was finding it difficult to reconcile himself with any of it. Every time he closed his eyes, the buzzing grew louder and he visualised one or the other of his current dilemmas. The night dragged by. Glancing at the clock, thinking hours had passed, Tom was dismayed to see the hands had hardly moved. He wasn"t convinced he"d come any closer to finding solutions.
