Sally used the room phone to call down to Reception, asking them to place a call to the local police station. When she was connected, she spoke into the phone. “Hello, I"d like to speak to someone to report a threatening letter.”
“Hold on, Madam, I"ll find an officer to take your call.”
Sally tapped her fingers on the table while she waited.
A minute or two later, she heard a different voice. “Hello, DC McAvoy, how can I help you?”
“My name"s Sally Ferguson and I"m calling to report a threatening letter that my friend"s received.”
