The General and Tuscan

1723 Words
Tuscan was one of the largest tent cities since the war. Alli was on way to become wife to a General in the Army. She had been promised by a former ally Raul. The General was one who came from another country and then worked his way up to General in the army. He was a ruthless man, but she understood it, to a point, because he was responsible for many lives. She was with Raul the first time she had met him. She had been contacted that the General had made many deals to have her become his wife. He had a former militia wife who had passed away and now Alli was to find a way to get her daughter safely away and back with her family. Alli also needed to find out what was happening to the militia children that the army had been taking.     As Alli exited the small truck one of the Gereral's men was unloading her bags before they took the truck to an underground garage. The General was standing there expectant, he reached out and took her into his arms. Alli stood with the General through every ritual and behaved with excellent manners, The girl Leah was present and followed suit with her new step mother. On the way to her new home she stayed quiet, and submissive. Both Alli and Leah became fast friends, which pleased the General. As they were sent inside the tent home, the General then left since he had to go on to deal with business matters. Alli taught the girl to be a proper submissive woman, though she wished to hell it wasn't needed.     A year and a half later, Alli awakens nauseated, trying hard to keep her eyes shut though she knew she needed to get up and get things done. She is pregnant with the Generals child, and was just a few weeks away from extraction. Leah came in to her room carrying a breakfast tray, which causes Alli's stomach to turn, so she ran to the bathroom before she could apologize. Leah looks worried and Alli knew she needed to ease the girls mind. She knew she was thinking about her mother and what had happend just a few years ago. Alli was  six and a half months along and nothing wanted to stay down. She had to keep her pregnancy from the militia or they would pull her and all she worked for would fall apart.     The General was pleased with the pregnancy though he did place many restrictions on her. He was gentler than he had ever been around her. Once he realized that she was indeed pregnant he changed the way he treated her. He had ordered her like she was one of the troops, now he did everything in his power not to let her do to much. If he could wrap her in bubble wrap he would have. He was worried what happend to his last wife would happen to her, and he couldn't handle that. She had been a good wife, she had rarely had to be disciplined. He loved her and since she was with Raul, he had known she was a spy but he didn't care. She was his and he had made a deal to with Raul for inconsequential material for her. He had wanted to protect her and her living with him was the only way he could guarantee this. He prayed she would give up the life of spying if she felt safe, and when she found she was pregnant.     He wasn't blind to the fact that she had moments where she grieved for something in her past, with the militia. He freely told her the exact information she was looking for about the children, and went as far as giving her information on the locations of each reforming school. He knew a raid would happen but she was totally his now he due to her condition. He didn't fear her running off because he knew militia was like the army and pulled active people when they got in the family way. Women who could carry full term were considered to be prizes after the war began. Though he had grieved for his first wife, Alli was everything he had expected of the first, and then more. She rarely showed her western raising which earned her respect by most of his family. Alli had been unhappy and the General had known it but he had hoped once she felt the movement of the baby that she would start to become happier. He figured more than anything she was just scared.     Alli once had wanted children of her own, but after the war started she no longer had wanted to bring a child into this world. She had hoped that after she could retire and all were safe that her and Lee could live out their days watching the boys grow into old men. Though she hated being the Generals wife, she didn't hate him. He had been kinder than some of her past assignments. Silently she had wished she wasn't pregnant but she was and though she knew Lee would accept the child for his own, she prayed she would have never had to put him in that position. In her mind he had been though enough. Her depression was mounting though she couldn't express it openly. Lee eyes     Lee was pissed, he had woke up wishing Alli would check in. Alli had hung up on him a few weeks prior after confirming all had gone smoothly with with the transfer of Leah. Then suddenly she was M.I.A. The children that had been recovered from the reforming schools were all reunited with their families. Leah was home with her biological grandparents, and father.     Lee had moved back to his Vegas home, he had left Lee Jr. with Jack. He knew they would be safe this way. A sensor had gone off near the highway on the desert side of the base. It being desert they had to check every time a sensor went off in case some unsuspecting hiker had wandered to far off path. The drive had helped his mood and he had let his mind wander until he noticed the body beside the fence road. He could see the blood before he had fully gotten out of the vehicle. As he walked closer his heart sank, it was Alli laying there, he noticed that she was still breathing but shallowly. Carefully he carried her to his truck and then drove like hell back to the base. If his suspicions were right she was going though a miscarriage. Like a light bulb clicking in his mind he realized why she had hung up, and now he knew why she had been scared. He delivered her to the doctors and shortly after they had confirmed that she had indeed suffered and had miscarried. She had lost a ton of blood and they had to do blood transfusions, and fix what damage had been inflicted by another. (Allis eyes) All knew Leah was recovered by the militia, now it was on her to escape the General. She walked around the house feeling extremely trapped. The pregnancy was exhausting her in a way she had never experienced before. She felt like she was growing desperate with every step she took. The night before she had been beaten by the Generals brother, for not jumping when he demanded. Alli had been tended to after by his wife and they both made it clear she was to lie, and not even tell the General what had happend. She fell was what she was to tell anyone that asked about her condition, if they had asked. The General was out of town and had been for few weeks now. No one knew when to expect him back, which his brother used to terrorize the young woman.      Walking hurt but Alli knew she couldn't just lay down, and she knew she couldn't stay in this house. Once she realized she was bleeding she finally used a knife and cut her way out of the tent home. Though it took everything she had to keep going, Alli walked and stumbled two miles to an old safe house she thought had been abandoned. She had barely got inside the door when the pain had finally over took her and she passed out.     A little old woman who had been a midwife before the war did what she could after Alli fell onto her threshold. She knew who Alli was and knew she belonged to the militia, she called an older trader and asked him in assisting to get Alli back to Vegas. She had got a message that she had been M.I.A.. Alli had muttered coordiance over and over while the older woman had worked on her. The trader gently placed the girl in a hidden compartment just in case the army wanted to inspect his load. What none of them knew was the generals brother had felt it was a good riddance when he found the woman gone. So he hadn't felt he needed to send a search party, and that his brother, the General would get over it.     Alli vaguely remembered getting out of the traders truck, she did her best to reassure the man she would be safe. She told him someone would be there to pick her up. Though she never told him it was due to sensors she was about to set off. She started off towards the fence line road and felt the heat of the Vegas sun pound down on her. suddenly everything went black. Some time later Alli awoke and she was hooked to machines, and her memory was foggy. Mack came in later that day with her doctor. They told her what she already knew, and for the first time in a long time she felt relieved which also made her feel guilty. It wasnt proper for a woman not to want a child, and though she was starting to accept it. She was glad the child wouldnt have to come into this world.... Still she grieved for the lost soul but she didnt speak to Mack then, she chose it best not to report anything...
