Chapter 1
A big blood moon hung above as clouds lazily drifted covering the twinkle of stars that dotted the dark blue sky. A loud roar pierced through a quiet neighborhood while a tall woman ran so fast no human eyes could catch her. A ruffle of leaves twirled like a strong gust of wind interrupted their placement, as the woman ran toward the loud roar.
A flash of gold fur with numerous black rosettes were caught under the streetlight as an animal leaped behind some bushes between suburban houses. Making its way toward the dense forest that stretches for miles in rural Macon, Georgia.
The woman gave chase after the animal, dodging trees that parted into a small clearing. A small leopard whirled around and laid in a crouch in some bushes and watched a women with creamy brown skin calmly swaggered into the clearing. The woman was calm, almost too calm, as she stepped silently towards the bushes where the small leopard was hiding.
“Why don’t you be a nice lil’ rogue and come meet your death..” The woman lazily c****d her head to the side with dark medium sized lock swaying in the middle of her back. The reflection of the blood moon glinting in her dark shades. The woman was tall, over six feet, ripped with lean muscles as she waved her hands beckoning the leopard. On her arm was a scary tattoo of a dragon winding up her arm. The soft whisper of grass being crunched under her black boots as the leopard studied her appearance as she stepped closer to the bushes. A form-fitting dark tank top stretched over luscious breasts and hugged the obvious outline of a six pack with loose dark blue jeans held up by a thick black belt, having a dainty gold chain swaying from the belt loops. She didn’t seem to have a gun but appearances were deceiving.
The woman looked laid back like she was just taking a stroll through the woods not chasing a dangerous animal. A small growl rose from the bushes as the leopard inched slowly towards the woman, instinctively knowing this was not a human, but a predator. A dangerous one.
*We need to run.* a small female voice thought. **It wont be any use, we will have to fight.** a young growling voice answered her. **I will keep you safe, no one will hurt you.** The male beast growled towards the young girl shivering in fear inside the mind of the leopard.
The leopard froze and inched to side, trying to instinctively freeze frame so the woman didn’t notice. The leopard couldn’t tell where the woman was looking but had a feeling she was staring exactly where the leopard was.
In a burst of speed the leopard shot from the bushes trying to hook his claws into the woman’s shoulders and get his jaws in the woman’s neck. In one fluid motion, the woman smirked and swiped her arm hitting the leopard with supernatural strength. Sending the little leopard crashing into a nearby tree, splitting it in two. The two halves of the tree made a loud groan while hitting the nearby trees on its way down. The woman walked towards the leopard that was lying prone on the ground, seemingly unconscious.
As the woman got closer, the whiskers on the leopard twitched. Golden eyes snapped open as the leopard jumped from the ruined tree using his flexible spine to flip behind the woman and strike again at the woman’s back. The woman simply turned on her heel and grabbed the throat of the small leopard, preparing to simply snap his neck. The leopard used his hind legs to try to tear at the belly of the woman as the woman tossed him into another tree, snapping it in half.
“Your eyes aren’t red and you don’t fight like a Rogue. Hmm..” the woman mumbled under her breath as she approached the little leopard. The animal slowly got up and limped towards the woman, baring its fangs and growling deep. “You got heart, little one.” The woman seemed to stare behind those dark shades and crossed her arms pushing her breasts together.
The leopard let out a loud roar of rage towards the woman.
“So you wanna roar competition, huh..” the woman reaches up to slide her shades down on the tip of her nose. The leopard notices the woman’s eyes are a piercing glowing blue as she lets out a roar that pierces the air and snaps the trees behind the leopard like twigs. The leopard crunches with his ears laying flat on his skull as the scent of fear permeates the air. The sound of cars going off in the far distance shows that the woman’s roar affected the neighborhood that was thirty miles behind them.
The leopard fearfully stares at the woman with glowing blue eyes, frozen in fear. *Oh my goddess, we are going to die!* The small female cried inside the leopards mind. The woman grinned seemingly unaware of the stark fear and apprehension coming off the little leopard in waves.
“Now, at least we know who won that competition, huh.” The woman slides her shades up her nose and c****d her head to the side. “You can have a roar like that, why don’t I teach you how...What do you say, little one?” The leopards ears perked up and cautiously inched towards the woman. The woman got into a crouch and opened up her arms toward the leopard.
“I’m not going to hurt you, you seem very young.” The woman stated as the leopard sniffed the woman’s hand taking in her scent, that smelled like a campfire with a hint a marshmallows. She didn’t smell so threatening anymore but welcoming. The woman stared into the golden eyes of the leopard seeing a question forming. “Yes, I’m like you but with a different beast but were more alike than you know.” Grinning fully, the woman showed her long fangs that was dipped in gold.
The look of shock crossed over the leopard’s eyes as the little girl thought excitedly *Wow! Her fangs are like mine but mine aren’t that long or that scary looking.*
“Well, why don’t I talk to the little girl inside and besides my arms are starting to get tired holding them out like this, so hurry up and change.”
The leopard looked hesitant, wanting to protect the other half of his soul. *Come on, beastie. I’m tired and she seems really nice.* **She almost killed us.** The beastie replied with a low defeated growl. *We have to get stronger beastie and I think she can help us do that.*
With another defeated growl, the leopard shook its fur and slowly morphed with the soft cracking of bones revealed a small girl that was shivering. Black kinky curly hair framed a face with big jade green eyes and the girl wrapped her arms around her naked knees. The woman looked at the shivering little mocha colored girl from her crouched position.
