First Date

Elle and Miguel decided to meet at a cozy Italian restaurant downtown.

I woke up extremely late, it was almost 9am. I opened my phone to realize there were messages from Miguel, reminding me about the date, he also mentioned something about not worrying about the attire and that he will make sure his right-hand man sends me an appropriate outfit for the date, I smiled as I texted back.

I brushed my teeth and got into the shower, the water was lukewarm and perfect for a summer day. As I finished my shower and got out to dry my hair, I saw that my assistant, Jeanette, had sent me a list of what I have to do today and what meetings I have to attend. I quickly got dressed in a short pencil skirt that reached my upper thigh, with a silk camisole button up and a blazer. As i went downstairs, my maid, Ms.Turner, had my coffee ready with a file full of all the documents I needed for today. I thanked her and headed to the door, I put on my heels and left for work.

I was extremely calm today, my work schedule wasn't as busy and and only had to attend 3 meetings, according to what Zachary, my assistant and right-hand man, had assigned in my list for today. What would I do with him honestly? He organizes all my work and helps me with everything. I made a mental note to give him a raise, he deserved it. When I got to the office, I greeted some of my employees, I'm not the CEO as yet but my parents aren't in the city this week so I am taking over. I passed by Carlos, my best friend, him and I were really close, and his parents were one of the biggest investors of RL Enterprises, but they had sadly passed away during a crucial car crash last year, which lead to Zachary working in our company until he is able to access his parents' assets, he is still under the legal age of inheriting his parents' money and company, since he is 20 and yet to turn 21. I enjoyed his company though, Carlos had been with me throughout everything, including that year, i had met him in highschool, it was his first year, and my last year.

As night time came and Elle had made her way back home, she found a perfectly laid dress with a matching pair of heels and a beautiful dior purse on her bed.

Ugh I didn't know we were going all out for a first date! I wore the clothes and heels and put on some light makeup, I then called Maevie. " Heyy baee, what are you up to? " I asked her enthusiastically. " Nothing much, I have been working on this heart sculpture that my group was assigned to make for this project all week, but you know me, I don't depend on anyone, so I told them that they can help if they wanted to, and guess what! "..." No one wanted to help! " Maevie was in her fifth year of studying medicine, she was one of the smartest people I know, she got into Yale on a full scholarship. " What about you babes? "She asked. " I am currently getting ready for a first date! "I exclaimed..." You know, that Miguel guy i was telling you about, yea he is the one who asked me out! "...." Oh my god, Elle I'm so happy for youu." She said. " Well, I'll talk to you later, I have to get going, I'll update you on everything later, love you ". " Okayy, love youu even moree, take care! ".

As I got to the restaurant, La Rosa, I looked around to see where Miguel was, he was sitting on a chair in a black slick suit, his hair was gelled back and his blazer hung on his shoulder. He saw me and quickly got up, making sure he helped me get seated neatly, giving me a bouquet of red roses, and a Pandora box. " Ohh, Miguelll "..." You shouldn't have, you're too sweet. "..." It's nothing honestly, I haven't dated anyone in a long time, and I didn't know what to get you, I figured you'd like this necklace." I opened the Pandora box to find a beautiful silver necklace with a blue gem in the middle, it was so pretty. "Thankyou so much for this, I love it! "..." Comeon, help me put it on ". He smiled softly and said," Of course Elle! " After that, we ordered and talked as we waited for our dishes to arrive.

The ambiance in this restaurant was perfect—soft lighting, smooth music played in the background, and the aroma of freshly baked bread. We started sharing stories about our lives, laughing at each other's jokes, and talking about how much we enjoyed working together along with Anderson and Thomas. As we enjoyed our pasta dishes, the conversation flowed effortlessly. We then ordered dessert and headed to the park, we took a stroll around the park, and laid on the bench to rest a bit, it had suddenly gotten cold, I put my hands on my chest to try and warm up, Miguel must've noticed because he quickly took his blazer off, dripping it on my shoulders." Here, is it better now or should I just drop you off at home if it's too cold? "he asked with a worried face. " Oh no this is just fine, I'm not cold any longer ", I answered, plastering a genuine smile on my face.

We sat there for a while, in a comfortable silence, while we stared at the busy streets and the cars passing by.

" Come on, we should get you home Elle, it's getting really late. "..." Alright, that's fine with me ", I smiled.

On the way back home, we listened to quiet, calm songs. As we arrived to my house, he put his hand on my thigh, rubbing gently.

" I really enjoyed today, Elle "..." We should do this again some other time. ",he said. I smiled as he looked at me. He helped me get to my front door and I looked up at him, smiling genuinely. We stared at eachother for a moment before leaning in, and we kissed, a small peck on eachothers' lips.
