ARIA
I stood up, I couldn't take it in anymore I ran out… (Go!) Zara my wolf cried out, she wanted to unleash her anger, she was in pain, she had been betrayed.
We thought we would finally settle down for the one our heart wanted, we thought we were in love.
But no, Richard chose Aris pounding on this. He told me he would send an invite to my family for our engagement party only for him to tell my parents that his mate is Ava.
He didn't even say anything about me to them, so he had been using me, and my life has been a lie.
My leg pounding on the floor, I kept going into the dark wood, I couldn't bear it anymore.
The pain was too much for me to take, I was happy that I would have this baby, I wanted to make this baby a surprise for him. He promised me, he wasn't supposed to betray me.
My legs grew weaker as I headed deep into the woods, then I left it all for my wolf to proceed and my body began to shift. I heard the sound of my bones breaking, and then my wolf emerged.
She is a beautiful white wolf. Her paws stumped on the ground going so fast as she let out a loud howl.
None of my family knows about me already shifting, they are too caught up in Ava's life to care about mine. I feel like an outsider in my own home.
I was still in deep thought when Zara came to an abrupt stop making me confused.
(Rogue,) She alerted me and we froze, trying to sense our surroundings.
Then, I heard a faint voice in my head, 'Help.' The voice echoed again.
Without hesitation, my wolf took off in the direction of the cry. My legs carried me faster than I could think, and soon we came across an injured black giant wolf surrounded by five rogue wolves.
Why was he weak and helpless on the ground? He should have been able to take them down easily with his height."
Before I could control it, my wolf growled, (Attack.)
With a fierce snarl, I launched myself at the first rogue, my jaws snapping shut around its neck.
The sound of its spine cracking was music to my ears. I moved swiftly, taking down the next two rogues with swift bites to the throat. I am the daughter of a gamma. I need to know how to fight so this looks like nothing to me.
The remaining two rogues tried to flank me, but I was too quick. I spun around, my claws swiping across their faces, leaving bloody gashes in their wake. They yelped in pain, stumbling backward as I pressed my attack.
Finally, the last rogue fell to the ground, its body limp and lifeless.
(That's satisfying,) Zara mumbled, Weirdly I feel a bit relaxed, I had directed all my pain in killing these rogues.
As I turned to face the giant wolf who had been the rogue's target, I was shocked to see him transform into his human form. But his face was covered by a messy tangle of hair and shadows.
One of my weaknesses is my sight at night. I might see but hardly see faces. I rushed toward him, morphing into my human form without hesitation.
I didn't care that I was naked, weirdly my problem was for the stranger's well-being. As I reached his side, I saw that his body was battered and bruised, but he was still breathing.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked, moving closer to examine his wound.
(Wolfsbane,) Zara responded.
As a medical practitioner who treats injured members when they go out to war.
I knew I had to act fast. I spotted the wolfbane lodged in his flesh and knew I had to remove it. But we were deep in the woods, with no medical equipment in sight.
I quickly scanned our surroundings, looking for anything that could help me. My eyes landed on a sharp rock nearby. I grabbed it, trying to sanitize it as best I could with my hands.
"Hold still," I told him, trying to keep my voice steady. "This might hurt."
I carefully used the rock to try and remove the wolf's wolfbane from his wound. He gritted his teeth, wincing in pain as I worked to dislodge the poisonous plant.
As I finally managed to remove the wolf's bane, I applied pressure to the wound to try and stem the bleeding. He was still pale, but I could see the anxiety in his body begin to ease.
I looked around, trying to spot any natural remedies that could help him. My eyes landed on a nearby plant that could be of help. I quickly gathered some of its leaves and used them to create a makeshift dressing for his wound.
"Thank you," he whispered, his voice weak but sincere. I nodded, smiling softly.
Only then did I realise I was naked, completely bare in front of him. “Oh no…” I mumbled in panic, taking a step back as my arms tried to shield what little pride I had left.
“You never saw me,” I said, refusing to meet his eyes, “and remember… You owe me.” With that, I turned away, shifting back into my wolf form as quickly as I could, disappearing into the Lost Wood without looking back.
But just as I thought I was free, just as I began to run the pain struck.
A sharp, unbearable pain hit my stomach like a blade, making my legs crumble beneath me. I fell hard, my knee crashing into the rough earth as I whimpered, shifting back into human form without control.
“Ahh…” I cried out, clutching my stomach. My breathing grew shallow with my body trembled.
M (Baby…) Zara’s voice echoed in my head, broken and weak.
I didn’t need anyone to confirm it. Again… again, I have lost the child.
The one thing I could have used to tie Richard to me. The only thing I had left to fight with was gone.
I have lost not just the baby but also Richard.
Forever.
