ARIA
“Get up from that bed, it's your sister's engagement party,” Mason yelled from outside my room door and I rolled my eyes.
Why would they think I slept off? Why would they think I could do so when I have just lost my child and lover to them?
Why don't they even care how I am feeling after the loss of my child? Why isn’t my brother a bit supportive of me? I came to this world before Ava, he got to call me sister first before Ava, why hate me to the core?
(Aria, we haven't talked to Richard yet, he might want to fight for us, but you know his father.) Zara, my wolf spelled out, still trying to hold on to small hope.
But there is no way I am believing this. He knew this, he hadn’t picked up my call for two days now since he sent an invite.
“He wants me? Still, He sent an invitation to Mum and Dad stating Ava’s name as his mate. What do you expect?” I argued with her.
“Aria!” Mason yelled again.
“I am not going, you can have the whole day to yourself, go enjoy,” I mumbled against my breath but I was pretty sure he could catch that, we have a great sense of hearing.
“Aria!” Mason's voice hollered and then I heard footsteps closer to the door, “If you don't get out of that room this instant, I will break down this door!” his voice echoed.
I stood from the bed and my whole body weakened, I could still feel the sore pain, still bleeding from my loss of my child.
If I hadn't been a medical practitioner myself I swear my whole family would leave me to die.
I stormed over to the door pulling the door open in fury, “What is your problem? Why do I need to be there? She has friends and family who care about her, get the f**k out and let me be!”
My brother stepped back in shock, he had never heard me speak to them that way. I am always an obedient ass-licking child doing everything to please them to make them look my way for once and care about me.
But not anymore, they already showed me their true colors two days ago, I have no reason to care for them.
Then Ava stepped forward trying to grab my hands which I yanked off immediately.
“Don't you dare touch me you little sly devil,” I yelled at her.
“Ar… Aria, I am so sorry the one you loved turned out to be my fated mate,” I didn't miss the emphasis on her fated mate.
“You can take him if you…” My brother pulled her back shaking his head.
“Ava, he is your mate, you don't have to let go of things for her, she is the one who should apologize to you.” I snickered at this, they have always been the best siblings ever since her birth.
“Yes, Ava… I am so sorry for stealing your mate and getting pregnant for him twice, I guess losing my baby is the best choice.” I was ready to turn when Zara came up.
(Aria, why don't we go? We deserve an explanation from Richard, maybe he is under pressure because he loves us so much.)
“Aria,” I heard Dad's voice afar.
“If you don't come to honor your sister's engagement party, then consider yourself out of this family.”
My hands around the door trembled and I saw the smile on Ava’s face. She was enjoying this, she had always enjoyed my pain.
My gaze darted between her and my brother as my grip on my door tightened.
“I hate you all!” I slammed the door so hard and slid down the door.
Dad meant every word and I knew if I messed up then, I would lose not just in this pack but all over the werewolf world.
Dad might be a former gamma but he has quite an influence, several investments, and buildings all over the city.
My dad is not a law-abiding man, he has his hands in several illegal businesses, but no one dares to go against him.
(Guess we need to dress up for the engagement of your ex-boyfriend and sister.) Zara let out.

I walked into the ceremony looking so beautiful, after all, I couldn’t look dead even though my heart was so broken.
I strolled down into the venue which contained several Alphas… Betas… and some other creatures I can’t place my hands on.
“Aria,” my sister called, rushing toward me weakly, those pretenses of hers that I can't miss.
“I am so happy you are here,” she mumbled as she embraced me but I just rolled my eyes. I didn't miss the cursing looks from the rest of her minions, they all knew about my relationship and felt like I had cheated my sister.
I pushed her away, “I am not happy to be here and I am not in for a pretense. So get out of my way.” With that, I walked out on her.
“Aria,” Mum called with a small smile.
“Treat your sister nicely, she is doing everything to make you like her,” Mum leaned closer to me and I knew that caring look was going to change soon.
“How would you feel if your sister were with your mate?” she fired back at me loud enough for everyone to hear.
I rolled my eyes but the moment my eyes met Dad and Richard everything in me stopped. Watching them both smile at one another that broken feeling in me returned.
He doesn't even look like someone who cares about his ex-girlfriend. Before I could control myself I stormed toward where they stood.
“Richard?” I called, not minding the looks I was getting from the guests,
(Aria, what are you doing? It's your sister's… ceremony.) Dad mindlinked me.
(Dad, relax, just want to be sure of something,) I retorted, looking away from Dad to Richard.
“Richard, my sister would like to have a conversation with you,” I heard Ava's voice beside me, damn it! She is here again. Always butting into my conversation and it took everything in me to control myself.
But Richard did the unthinkable like he avoided all my calls for two whole days. He avoided me right now in front of the whole world.
He pulled Ava close to himself with a big smile, “Everyone!” He called out to the guests.
“Today we are here to celebrate the engagement between me and my mate, I hope no one will destroy our celebration because of their tantrums and jealousy,” he announced his last word directed to me.
I shifted back, my hands trembling at his words, did he just tell the whole world that I was throwing a tantrum and also jealous?
Just then Dad pulled me aside, One more word tonight, Aria… I will make sure you regret it.” he gritted out.
I bit my lips staring at Richard, he proved them right he didn't care about me. He isn't even feeling remorseful or ready to give me any explanation, I watch him grab her hands like an egg as he treats her beautifully.
Just then we felt an odd presence, it felt like I had felt it before, “Alpha Axel is here!” one of the men announced.
Hearing that name I froze along with everyone around, I noticed the way Dad's gaze darted around.
“What the f**k is going on! I thought he would be dead by now!” Dad mumbled beside me, making me whip my head to his side.
Why would he wish him death? Yeah our pack is strange don't you think?
All pack members want our beta, Richard, to be the alpha, not Alpha Axel.
They believe Alpha Axel is only an opportunist because of his late parents' bloodline.
Another crazy fact is that Alpha Axel is my dad's greatest enemy, Dad preferred Richard to Axel.
Even though we have all grown together in this pack, Axel is the lonely kid who hardly comes out, ever since the death of his parents. He doesn't even live in the pack house, he has his separate mansion.
Even on his coronation he never appeared, and talking about rules, he hardly made any.
He is just like a figurehead in the pack. My dad and elders along with Richard make rules for this pack, while Alpha Axel just sits back and watches.
The moment Alpha Axel stepped inside I couldn't help but be drawn to him.
“Alpha Axel!” Everyone called as they bowed, and only I stood tall staring at him, there was some kind of aura he gave that was pushing me to know more about this man.
He strutted towards me, his eyes piercing into mine, “Rise.” He let out and everyone did, including my dad.
“Alpha Axel, we weren't expecting you to be here,” Kendrick, Richard's father, asserted, staring at him with shock.
“Why? Expecting me to be dead already.” That voice… I have heard it before, I stared deep into his eyes as his gaze was now directed toward me.
“Al… Alpha… we weren't thinking about that, just that..” I watched how Dad trembled on his feet, I know how much Dad is respected in the pack and how much he hated Alpha Axel.
The fact that respect Dad displayed in just one look at Alpha Axel shows how much Aura Alpha Axel holds. He might not be the kind to mingle around and has been termed as the weak alpha but I see otherwise.
My gaze met with Richard who also looked down with his shoulder defeated and a deadly grin plastered on my face.
“It's my sister’s engagement party. Why don't I let the Impression last longer?”
I strolled toward Alpha Axel whose gaze swayed up to me, “Alpha Axel..” I called making that burning gaze bore into mine.
“Be mine.”
